Why am I constantly being asked to restart??

For the past 4 days, suddenly my computer freezes and a grey box appears that says I need to restart (in several languages) and the power button symbol is embedded in the background of this message. I can't pinpoint specific times when it happens, it just appears. There are a few times when I did power off and when I powered back on, the message appeared before I could even enter my password. Is my PowerBook dying?

The reason is that your kernel is panicking. No this does not mean the machine is dying. It means that either some incompatible hardware is there, some RAM has died, insufficient disk space is allowing the machine to boot, the directory is damaged, or some driver was damaged due to an improper shutdown. Is your data backed up?

All of a sudden I am being asked to enter my password every few hours. Various applications are asking for it ... Safar, iCloud something or other, calendar agent ... it's getting really annoying and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to STOP IT.
It began after I setup my new iMac and transferred all my info from my "old" iMac. the old one is still being used and IT'S doing it now as well.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You might try using Keychain First Aid to detect and repair any issues with your keychain that may be causing this (this article applies to most versions of the OS including Mavericks):

No matter how many times I go in and change them again, the SAME pages open up when I start FireFox and I am constantly being asked if I want Yahoo as my start page and default search engine. I click the box 'do not ask me again' and it comes up EVERY TIME. I change things like I don't want history remembered, and when I reload FireFox again, it's back to the way it was BEFORE. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't know why this is happening, or how to fix it. What do I do??

I do not want to download another virus program.. I do not believe it is a virus. I am running the full version of Norton 360 and it is doing a daily scan. I have Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Constantly being asked to set time and date (Apple TV 2nd Gen)

I am constantly being asked to set time and date on my Apple TV 2nd Gen. Has anyone had this problem? I get the screen with this message about 10-15mins after I connect to my home network. I connect, everything works fine, but then streamin, browsing stop and this screen appears. Any help would be appreciated.

Constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password, every 5 minutes or so.

Hey everyone.
I have an iPhone 6 and I am getting that error where im constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password every 5 to 10 minutes, regardless of what im doing.
I've just updated to the latest 8.2 hoping it would fix the issue but it hasn't
Apart from it being quite annoying, as of yesterday, I can no longer connect to my family group, or backup my phone to iCloud.
It has gone from a mere nuisance to not being able to use some key features of my phone.
I've tried restarting, and even changed my iCloud password to no avail.
Does anyone have any insight on this?

No it won't completely wipe your phone. You can verify that your iCloud information is up to date by going to iCloud.com and checking Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. These are updated by being pushed between iCloud and the devices signed onto the same iCloud account. The backup is there in case you have to restore you device for some reason.
But simply signing out of and then back in again to iCloud will not erase anything - you would only have to do a restore if your device failed in some way or went into Recovery mode. Just make sure your photos in the Photo Stream that are over 30 days old are also in your Camera Roll, or have been imported to a computer (or if you are using iCloud Photo Beta, make sure they are there).
You can also do a manual backup to iTunes on the computer you sync with if you wish.
Other than that, everything you see in iCloud.com will be pushed back to your device when you sign on again.

I now understand the reason behind the green lock icon, it is for a extra level of security with sensitive sites, which this particular site is.<br />
Having said that, if I follow the instructions, and "temporarily remove autocomplete=off", when I load the site in the future, is the situation going to be: when I load the site it will automatically have already loaded my user and password, so I don't have to do that function? If so, I really don't want that to happen. <br />
With my old computer, when I clicked the bookmark for the site, and entered the site, I just had to click on my user name and firefox entered my user and password. Evidently, firefox remembered those parameters for that site, and all was well. Definitely made that procedure easier. <br />
By doing the procedure in autocomplete=off, will this happen? Or, will the situation be, when I click on the bookmark and load the site, both my user and password will be automatically entered? If that were to occur, I would be giving up too much security for that site. <br />
I just would like my new computer and firefox, to enter that web site (scottrade) like it did before, where all I had to do was click on my user and enter the first character of my user and firefox filled in the of my user and password. Thank you, cor-el.

The ExportPDF subscription isn't included in a Creative Cloud membership. However, if you have Acrobat as part of your subscription, you can use it to save directly to Word format (as well as a host of other formats). In Acrobat, just choose Save as Other...

Why am I constantly being re-linked to ads and pop ups

I have only had my Macbook Pro a week, and I cannot go onto safari without constantly being re-directed to advertising pages and pop ups appearing on sites that would never have them. I have compared all my settings to my girlfriends Macbook Pro with no differences that we can see. Even when I checked the T's and C's box to agree to the apple support community it opened up 2 other tabs to advertisement websites. Can anyone help me out as I am new to mac and its really annoying me after only having it for one week. I have downloaded adobe flash player and Utorrent but did not download any torrents as of yet. I have tried ClamXav and the scans come back with no results.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

You may have installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

I am constantly being asked to sign into iTunes

Each and every time I launch itunes I am being asked to sign in to be able to download any pending purchases. This does not happen with my other family members when they launch itunes on their computers. We use the same apple Id across all our computers for the Itunes store. All computers are authorized and are within the number of computers that can be used for one account. Any help would be appreciated.

Open iTunes then click the iTunes > Preferences from the menu bar then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Reset warnings and Reset cache
Click: OK.
Restart your Mac.

Find my friends app works differently now with iOS 8. I delete messages and am constantly being asked to share location....no "always share" option....

In previous iOS I shared my location with "my friends" one time, permanently in the Find My Friends app. Now, I am being asked to share over and over--I delete messages in iMessage all the time. I want to share my location with my friends one time, permanently. Is this possible?

I seem to have a similar problem. I share my location with User-A via Find My Friends. I have a conversation with User-A via Messages. I delete the conversation with User-A in Messages. Suddenly, User-A no longer has permission to follow me via Find My Friends.
I prefer to keep my message history in Messages clean, but do not want to revoke other users' permissions to follow me in Find My Friends each time I delete Messages conversations.
Is this a bug or intended? Either way, is there a workaround or solution, other than having A) having to keep all message history or B) constantly remember to grant users permission to follow me in Find My Friends over and over again?

Constantly being asked to set default home app

I had downloaded a third party launcher and selected Always as the default, but every time I exit an app, it constantly posters me to select the default home app. I've tried deleting the cache and force quitting Xperia Home, but that didn't solve the problem. I then deleted the third party launcher, but am still getting asked to choose the default between Xperia Home and Xperia Simple Home. Even when I select Always for the Xperia Home launcher, I still get asked each and every time I exit an app.

I have had my New iPad since the day it was release. EVERY day, when I start iTunes, I get asked to register. I have.....
Fully completed the form and gone on to set up the iPad. SEVERAL TIMES
Hit registered later and gone on to use my iPad without hassle. SEVERAL TIMES
Hit never register and gone on the use my iPad without hassle. SEVERAL TIMES
However EVERY time I start iTunes, I am asked to register my iPad.
After spending €600 on a new iPad, I would expect registration to be a gimme.
I do not want to hear from an apple fanboi that I should register, (done that), register later (done that also) and never register (done that as well). I want to hear from an Apple employee saying that they have fixed the bug with their registeration process. Oh, and do NOT tell me it is because your servers are busy and try again later. I have tried within every hour of the day, yes, EVERY hour of the day.
I am happy to register as I am a developer, however I would not release software with such a fundamentl issue in it, and it sure as heck would not get into the iTunes store with a blatant, newbie style error like this.
I look forward to a complete and full answer.

It seems as though the last severely iTunes updates have resulted in more annoying problems than they may have been fixing - what gives. With the installation of iTunes 11.1.3.8 whenever I execute iTunes I'm asked to re authorized my Computer. Its really annoying having to reestablish computer authorization every time I start iTunes. I 've also tries starting iTune by "Running as administrator." Anyone have any ideas what’s going on with Apple and or iTunes.

Check your App Store Updates tab to see if you have any incomplete downloads. If you do, see if you can cancel them. If you do not, try signing out of the iTunes & App Store under Settings>iTunes & App Store. Finally, if neither of those work, then try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears. Once the reset is complete the Home screen will redisplay. See if that resolves the issue.

Constantly being asked to sign in

Since i've signed up, with in the space of a week of use i've been asked to sign in about 7 times to make use of after effects premiere and audition and photoshop.
Is this normal? I find it quite annoying.
If i have connecton issues im worried i wont be able to use this software im paying for.

It sounds like you change the Apple ID but did not sign out of your iPhone before you made the change. To resolve the issue, you need to change your Apple ID back to the old account and then sign out of iCloud to satisfy the prompt. When changing it back you your old account it will not ask to verify. Once you are done, you can change it back. For more information, take a look at the article below.
