Why am i constantly having to restart my phone to get service?

Ever since the new update every couple of days or so I'll try and open an app that requires internet and it won't load. TMZ, Facebook, Safari basically anything that requires service won't load. My messages won't go through. I'll have to restart my phone to get the messages to be sent as text. I'll eventually have to restart my phone about three or four times in an hour before I just give up and leave it alone.

Ever since the 4.3 update, which I waited until end of January 2014 to download, My phone has been messed up. Some of the problems I solved on my own since Verizon and Samsung both refused to help me. I fixed the charging problem by using an HTC Incredible charger since Samsung's charger is garbage since the update. Battery drain is also a constant issue. Ram is ALWAYS full which should be a good thing but clearing it out completely and killing off all Google apps seems to make my phone all of a sudden fly and work super fast. I am forced to restart my phone to get the memory cleared at least 2-4 times a day. Verizon tells me this is normal. Samsung hangs up on me when I call. The internet browser is also super slow. 56k dial up has faster speeds than my mobile browser and I have full 4g lte bars. Its beyond annoying because when ever I call Verizon customer service I am told nothing is wrong. If I break the phone into a million pieces you would still tell me its working properly. Yosemite download has resulted in constantly having to restart my macbook

Since downloading an upgrade to Yosemite I am now constantly having to restart my computer for internet connectivity. Is there a simple fix?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later. I don't recommend running it on older versions of OS X. It will do no harm, but it won't do much good either.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.

☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.

If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:

        Please close this window.

The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it and go to the next step. You'll have incomplete results, but still something.
12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak for themselves, not for me. To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Constantly having to restart...do i have entitleme...

Well as the title suggests, its a constant battle with the V Box, we have the old style silver one, which literally every day at some point has to be restarted, needless to say its an arduous task and one that quite frankly shouldn't have to be done!
As a customer of my than 18 months on this service, am i entitled to an upgrade on my box? as clearly im paying for a service which isnt "up and running" on a daily basis?

Welcome to the forum.
That doesnt sound right; try disconnecting power to the v box; turn off your hub and then re-set it , connect v box up again and then scan for channels on it. You might have some local channel changes due to the digital switchover.
I dont know the answer to the replacement box, but I suspect customer service would want to try and rectify this issue, which sounds like a configuration issue rather than a hardware one.

Genius - constantly having to restart it

What is making me have to repeatedly turn back on iTunes Genius? I don't know how many times I have initiated Genius, waited for it to collect data from my 20000+ song library and finally start up only to see within a few days or weeks that Genius has been turned off and that the Genius database has to be re-initiated and I have to start the process all over.
What can one do to prevent this?

yes simon,, look at my previous post
it tells you that the CMS tries to start by the time the database not started yet
you can fix that and add the service of your database to the CMS dependencies
go to the CCM "Centeral Configuration Manager"
stop the CMS "Centeral Managemener Server"
double click the CMS to find its properties
go go the "Dependency" tab.
click "Add"
Look for the Service of your Database
select it, click add.

AirPort Extreme constantly having to be restarted.

So here's my issue:
My modem works just fine, however I'm constantly having to restart my base station several times a day.
Everything works just fine, then I'll lose my internet connection but still be connected to the base station. The base station will also still have the solid green light.
If I try switching to a different network and switch back I'll get the can't connect alert.
I'll then unplug my base station, then plug it back in. After a minute everything is back to normal until the next time it happens. It's completely random, sometimes it's an hour, sometimes it's 8 hours.
This also would happen with my old roommate's setup as well.
Ideas?

I have the same issue - AEBS recently requires constant restarts, but so far no suggestions as to what could be causing it.
(It also allocates IP addresses backwards, starting at the top of the range. I'm unclear if this is related and have posted elsewhere regarding this.)
I've searched the forums, and there seem to be numerous posts regarding the restart issue, but I haven't seen any explanations. My AEBS actually crashes when it loses connectivity and can't be accessed by airport utility. Green light remains on.
Perhaps it is a hardware issue. Mine is out of warranty.
Suggestions? Anyone? Is there a hardware diagnostic routine that can be run? There is a log accessible through AU, but this can't be accessed when it crashes and appears to be cleared when restarted.

This is kind of weird...
Got my new Airport Extreme set up the other day with no problem, but now that it is up and running there are issues.
1) Getting mail takes forever (didn't before with my old Airport Extreme)! When I click "Get Mail" the wheel just turns and turns. Eventually it will say Host connected, but it takes way too long. Most of the time it just says "Failed to connect to server" I am using Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0 (I am trying to upgrade that as I write this to see if that helps). I keep having to restart in order to get my mail. I am wondering if there may be a problem with my old cable modem with the new Airport? Any ideas?
2) After an initial surge in speed with the new Airport, it now seems slow now when surfing the internet. I also have the same problem as with email, in that I have to keep restarting. I use Mozilla Firefox 2.0. I recently ran Disk Warrior, so I don't think there is a problem on the hard drive or with files. I have full signal as the Airport is right next to my iMac G5.
3) I am not having any issues with any other software; no crashing or weirdness there.

Sounds like you might be having a DNS problem. I suggest that you give OpenDNS a try to see if it will help.
Another thing you try is to do a complete power recycle of your network components...
Modem/Router Power ReCycling
- Power-off the DSL/Cable modem, Internet Router, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
- Power-on the DSL/Cable modem; Wait at least 30 minutes.
- Power-on the Internet Router; Wait at least 5 minutes.
- Power-on the computer(s)

Here are the two ways that I run apps as admin in Win 7. Would recommend trying the first method to see if it works before you use the second method.
First: I use this one if I only need to do it occasionally (you may find this way tedious after a few days). Right click on iTunes and the context menu will pop up. Click on "Run as administrator" then another popup will open asking you to confirm if you want to allow iTunes to have admin privilleges (this happens every time any app requests higher privelliges), choose yes and if our issues are the same iTunes should load.
Second: The semi-permenant method, again I'd say try the other method first to see if this will work for you. Right click on iTunes like before but choose Properites, then go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom you have the ability to give iTunes admin privilleges every time it loads. Check that box, then click apply then OK. You will still see the box I mentioned earlier (I can't get a screen shot of it) asking if its ok to run with higher rights, but this way is a couple of clicks less.
