Why am I continually told to contact apple support when I try to purchase an app?
I can't seem to purchase apps without getting the contact apple support message and it is getting very irritating and I can't solve it!
Because something's wrong with your account; only the iTunes Store staff can say for certain what it is or what's needed to fix it.

Yea, its just wanting you to contact Apple so you can speak with iTunes Support so they can verify your identity and make sure nobody is trying to use your account unauthorized. Call 1.800.275.2273 or go through the Express Lane to send an email to iTunes support

Hi there. I am having difficulty buying apps from the App Store. I recently changed my e-mail associated with my apple account. when i try to purchase an app, the cue to sign in does not show my new e-mail, but still shows my old e-mail. when I put in my password, it does not work because my password is no longer associated with the old e-mail address. i don't understand why my old e-mail still shows up. Can someone help me?

SimonFirst question that I am not clear on your answer about: Is the Apple ID itself a valid email address, and the same one that you have as your Primary email address on your account? If the actual Apple ID is not an email address, then that is why you are not able to sign on to iCloud or to verify it....it must be an email address.
If it is an email address then:
Update your OS to the latest version - 10.8.5
Once you have updated, reboot the Mac and then go to Preferences>iCloud and try to sign on with your Apple ID again.
Check Manage your Apple ID to make sure that your Apple ID/Primary email address is verified.
If the problem persists, contact iCloud Support to see if they can provide you with an explanation of the meaning of the message. If the Apple ID has already been verified, then I'm not sure why you would be getting this messge:

Try:
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Have you tried contacting iTunes Support and asking them ? We are fellow users here on these forums, it could be due to a number of reasons, we won't know which one.

Thanks for your reply. Having read through relevant topics it suggests that if I sync my iphone with the correct account on my pc it should use that one thereafter. i will try both.

My iPad won't let me sign into my Apple ID when I try and download an app it asks for my id and password and when i type it in the iPad displays a message saying cannot connect to iTunes Store. However when i do this on my phone it works perfectly. Even when i sign in and out.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so how can I fix this?Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections. -
"Unable to connect to server" I have wifi connection but I'm getting this error when I try to purchase an app. Why? If anyone knows can you please help me thank you in advance. :-(
Can you load a webpage in Safari with that wifi connection? If so then it's a problem with the iTunes Store app connection. If not then your wifi isn't fully functional and you need to troubleshoot that first.
