Why am I experiencing corrupt text in fire fox only?

I am experiencing corrupt text in firefox only, I can refresh the page and it will correct to a degree, I can highlight text and it will correct also can move mouse pointer over links and it will correct, I only have this prob in firefox, IE works great, no prob inside the os either, this is very frustrating... Help!!!

I greatly appreciate the tips listed here. I would like to add my experiences so far. I am suffering from this exact problem as well. Firefox 24 and 24b10 both have the problem, and only since I upgraded to Windows 8.1. A full uninstall and reinstall of Firefox and clean profile troubleshooting does not help. I have noticed something, however, I think. This issue seems to only occur with Sans Serif or Serif type? MAYBE Times New Roman as well. I am still working on figuring this one out, but the reason I mention this is that the issue is especially noticable when posting in forum boxes where the default font used in Sans Serif. Anyone else?

Why on opening a new window in Fire Fox 4.01 do 14 windows open?

I just had my first crash on Firefox 4.01, VERY surprised it has not happened before, this version IS pretty dire!
However, after this I was asked to re-start Fire Fox and it would try to open my open folders/tabs. And so it did do JUST that. Except as usual (Well not actually as usual as it normally only opens 9 windows!) it opened multiple windows in Fire Fox. Only this time it opened not one or two or the usual 9 windows but 14!! YES 14 windows to allow me to get the MAXIMUM browsing experience no doubt?
IT WORKS!! OK! It works! With 14 windows open I can do all I wish to......but then again I never have two open at once? In fact If do open open two windows I a unable to close the second example! I am getting a pop up that I can not get rid of when I use Fire Fox only on one of my desk top computers. "Browser Setting Change" "Keep my current settings"

I have contacted Verizon support and Norton Support. They have tried different changes to the computer setup, but none have solved the problem. I have three identical computers, HP, running under VISTA, with Fire Fox brower. All three have additional memory and a 1 TB hard drive added. Two of my computers do not get the POPUP. On the one computer that gets the POPUP, I am able to close the POPUP by going to the bottom of my screen and right click on the bar and closing the POPUP. None of the options within the POPUP (YES) or (X) are functional.

I have three user accounts on one computer. On only one account when I when I check Help - About fire fox only one user account says apply update and won't apply. The other two work fine.

One of three user accounts on the same computer appears to not be updating to 8.0.1 correctly. One admin and one none admin user account says it is up-to-date. The other non-admin user account, under Help About Firefox says apply update, but won't.

As long as you installed MS Office into its default location (the top level /Applications folder) it will be available to all user accounts on the Mac.
As far as licensing is concerned you only have to enter the license code once, which you should do right after installing MS Office, in the same admin account you installed it from, by opening any one of the MS Office applications. There is no additional licensing required for additional user accounts on the same Mac.
Each user account is able to run the Office apps. The only thing you will have to do is go through an initial setup screen in each user account (but this setup does NOT involve entering any additional license codes).
You may have problems if you installed MS Office in a particular user account (i.e. NOT in the top level /Applications folder).

As I understand it, if your iPad is wi-fi only, you will only see text messages sent from other Apple devices. Others sent through cellular service will only be seen on a cellular device, i.e. the iPhone.

Fire Fox Start Page Self Altering and removing google when i restart my computer.

So basically iv reinstalled fire fox, and reset it several times, when i reset (or reinstall it) it brings up Google as the default search on the start page (Fantastic!) and will continue to do so for a time, then for no apparent reason (usualy when i close and reopen fire fox but not always) it will simply stop using Google or anything else and not work. the bars all along the top work fine this is just really annoying (i like the middle search bar) id like to point out that fire fox only has default addons / extensions / what ever, on it since i have added nothing myself.

why can't I add text in the signature panel in firefox? I have adobe acrobat pro XI. I can open a pdf in acrobat pro and am able to add text to a pdf, but when I open a pdf in firefox, the "add text" option is not available.

When you install Acrobat XI you are also installing Reader for use in the browser. Reader is "sandboxed", or as it says in the Preferences, it is in "Protected Mode". Acrobat does not understand the concept of running in sandboxed memory (sandbox is a security feature to prevent the bad guy from exploiting a memory error and getting into a memory address where they can do damage to your computer) so to help protect Acrobat users the same way Reader users are protected we just install Reader along with Acrobat, but it is only used in the browser (part of this is because the bad guys use web sites as their primary method of distributing corrupted PDF files that can cause problems).
That said, because you are in Reader the file needs to be Reader Enabled prior to being posted to the web site (or opened in the browser). Once the file is Reader Enabled you should be able to add the text annotations.

For example, I posted an article on a news site, but found that only a small part of my article was posted.

I'm not sure whether Firefox saved that information. There is a chance that it is in the session history file, especially if you haven't closed that tab yet. To check that:
Open your currently active Firefox settings folder (AKA your Firefox profile folder) using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Find all files starting with the name sessionstore and copy them to a safe working location (e.g., your documents folder). In order to read a .js file, it is useful to rename it to a .txt file. Or you could drag it to Wordpad or your favorite word processing software.
The script will look somewhat like gibberish, but if you search for a word in your article that doesn't normally appear in web pages, you may be able to find your data.

Since iChat 6 the SMS option in the Menus has disappeared.
However if you add the number to a Buddy List as if it were Screen Name but with the leading +1 (as in +1234567890) it will work over AIM.
It only works to US phones on some Carriers.
