I went to apple support> Turns out it's a common problem and there is a fix
. Go to software updates and install the Mavericks mail update if you have the appropriate lap top. The installation whould solve the problem!

YEA! My jurryrig worked! To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first. So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it. I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this! Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists!

My Blackberry gets emails when i'm at home via our wireless network, but when I'm away from home, I don't get any email messages or text messages at all. We have both the home WiFi wireless network "on" and the Mobile Network is on. What should I do so I can get emails when I'm away from home?

Without a Blackberry Data Plan you can't get email pushed to your Curve. While on your wi-fi network you are able to access your email, but away from that link you need a data plan.

After automatic update of the latest beta version, I cannot download email messages from my email server, CalPoly. CAUSED by ESET?

When I booted I was asked a question whether I should allow connections to my network. It seemed strange, but I fell for it and allowed. Upon reflection, it was probably a phishing expedition that wrecked my ability to download messages and possibly inserted a trojan horse. I am running a MacPro with Mountain Lion OSX. I have very good protection software.
I can obtain messages on my iPhone, so it is not a provider problem.

Less and Less are the ports and protocols being considered by AV companies and others as everyone uses web mail. Like you, I use ESET and have had no problems with the NOD32 anti virus product. But I have heard some rather sad tales about the Suite being overly protective. In this day of ubiquitous firewalls in AV products (In my opinion a very bad thing) Only Microsoft products can be expected to work out of the box as the market leading office software vendor. The anti virus vendors firewalls +Anti virus products generally account for about 95% of mail collection issues. With incorrect settings making up about 2 or 3 percent of the remainder. Real Thunderbird bugs do exist, but are only a very tiny part of the total.

Why doesn't Apple mail download Gmail messages that were sent to myself?

When I e-mail myself to my Gmail address, the message sits in the Gmail inbox but Apple
Mail doesn't download it.
Mail downloads every other message in the Gmail inbox, but not the ones i've addressed to myself to my Gmail address.
Any ideas for why this is happening?

Gmail POP access doesn’t work like a normal POP mail server would. Here are some of its idiosyncrasies:
1. Messages downloaded by any conventional POP mail client are marked as downloaded at the server (but not as read on the web), and no longer available to either the same or any other POP mail client.
2. To make already downloaded messages available for POP access again, you must go to Gmail’s Settings > Forwarding and POP page, select Enable POP for all mail, and click Save Changes, which causes everything (and I mean everything) still on the server to be downloaded again.
3. The Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings have absolutely no effect on the messages stored on Gmail’s server. Gmail ignores any requests to delete messages from the server made by a POP client. What happens to the messages on the server after a POP client has downloaded them is determined by Gmail’s Settings > Forwarding and POP > When messages are accessed with POP setting alone. In the case of Gmail (and only in that case), I recommend turning OFF Remove copy from server in Mail, so that Mail doesn’t even try to remove any messages from the server, regardless of whether you do actually want already downloaded messages to be removed from the server after some time or not.
4. Messages sent using the web interface will be downloaded by your POP mail client as if they were received messages. Although this may seem weird, it's good because it allows archiving all messages locally in Mail, regardless of how they were sent — as long as you don't access the same Gmail account with more than one POP mail client, that is. You can set up a rule in Mail to automatically route those messages to the appropriate Sent mailbox (or to any other mailbox for that matter) if that's what you want.
5. Messages sent using a POP/SMTP mail client such as Mail are also treated as if they were incoming messages for POP purposes, just as in #4. What prevents them from being downloaded is that Gmail marks them as already downloaded immediately. Since they’re on the server nonetheless, already sent messages would be downloaded together with all the other messages on the server if proceeding as described in #2.
6. A particular case of #5 are messages sent to yourself. Instead of putting a copy of the sent message in the server’s Inbox and making it available for download, both the sent and the “received” message on the server are actually one and the same, and hence, cannot be downloaded via POP for the reason explained in #5.
7. Gmail allows POP accounts to be set up in a special way that avoids some of these issues while introducing others. If you only need POP access to the last 30 days of mail, you may configure Mail in “recent mode”, as described in Using POP on multiple clients or mobile devices. Configuring the account this way would allow Mail to download messages marked by Gmail as already downloaded (and download messages sent to yourself in particular), but it would also cause all sent messages (not just messages sent to yourself or through webmail) to be downloaded as if they were received messages.

Why is Mail not automatically downloading emails?

I have set prefs to download mail every minute or every 5 minutes and neither is happening unless I am sitting at the computer. If it is assleep - I am out for the day - the mail that comes in on my iPhone never downbloads until I click "get mail" on the desktop - makes it hard to delete any messages when I am away from home because I never klnow if it has downloaded at home.Comcast uses POP accounts and says it is an Apple problem. How do you know it's deleting them? Note that there's a setting for the number of messages shown at one time (up to 200), and for Exchange accounts there's also a setting for how far back to sync mail (no limit, or times up to a month).

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

You may have lost your Internet connection and CC Desktop needs to be online to display status and notifications. You do not need to re-download your apps. Once connectivity is restored, your apps and activity will be displayed.

Why can't I print "printable" email messages with Firefox, that I can print with Internet Explorer?

My ISP is Optimum Online, which is where I receive email. My operating system is Windows 2000 Professional Ed. My printer is Brother HL 1440.

It is possible that you accidentally clicked the 'Block Images' item in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Why can't I open my email messages in .Mac?

I have to click on the message 2-3 times before it opens. In some cases I can read messages by only clicking once. Any suggestions?

I DO NOT get ALL email messages from folks that say they sent me an email. I can get them sometimes and sometimes not.

There are folks that send me emails all the time. Sometimes they come in and most times they don't They are always telling me that they sent me an email and I have not received it. When I tell them to send it NOW as I am sitting at the computer, then the email comes in for the first time. This has been happening since I downloaded Thunderbird. Please tell me why this happens as it if a bit frustrating, especially when they don't know I have not received their email and the information is very important that I get the email and the information they are sending me.

Thunderbird downloads email messages that make it into your Inbox on your providers server. Are these missing messages actually in the Inbox and are not downloaded or do they not make it to the Inbox on the server.
If the later, ask your provider where your mail is going.
It might not hurt to log into your account on the server and check for a spam folder. You might be surprised to see what is in there.

Android 4.0 = no more automatically downloaded emails

Hi there!
After upgrading my sony ericsson xperia PRO with the latest update my phone, or better my email client, is not working properly anymore.
Now, if I set to automatically check and download email messages from my email accounts, it doesn't check it anymore.
If I check the email manually it works but I would like to have them checked automatically. I know about the notification display problem but this is not just a display problem.
Does anybody else have my same problem?

To check if it's a problem with the pre loaded E-mail application perhaps you could test using another E-mail application from Google Play. If that works as supposed to I suggest that you try to run a software repair on the phone using PC Companion.

How download emails in IMAP folders?

I store many emails in folders (not Inbox / Sent) on an IMAP email account (not iCloud).
In Mail App then my inbox/sent IMAP folders are auto-sync'd and all email messages downloaded from server to Mail App. Great. But it seems that mail messages in an IMAP folder are only downloaded if I click on the related folder, so do download email messages in 100 folders then I need to click one-by-one on each folder. Email messages that are not downloaded clearly do not appear in any search functionality with Mail App.
Is there a setting or way to force Mail App to download email messages with IMAP folders?

You could search within the account in question, not globally:
# Right-click on the account name in the folder list to the left
# select "Search Messages" from the menu
# enter your search criteria, use the [+] button to add further lines
# in the result list, you should see "Location" as a column
