Why am I getting billed twice for the same thing

I ordered 9 songs off of Itunes on 12/29/12 and my visa was billed $10.50 an email was sent to me confirming this.
today (1/2/13) I was sent another email billing my visa for $7.32 for 6 of the same songs I ordered on 12/29/12.
Why am I getting billed twice for these songs.

  • Can someone please tell me why when I order an Itunes app. , do I always get charged twice for the same thing.  It has happened on two different occasions.  Does it have anything to do with having 2 different ipods linked to the same account?

    It has nothing to do with have more than one device using that account.
    After you purchase it once, you redownload it on other devices by the following, not like purchasing a new app.
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    If you really got charged twice for purchases the same app twice with the same account contact iTunes again by:
    Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us
    Make sure that they are really the same app first.

    I don't know what you mean by 'extra charged' (have you made in-app purchases within the app, or are you in the US and need to add on your state's sales tax to the listed price ?), or have you added or changed your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

Then once the product ships, the authorization would become an actual charge to your method of payment.     Did you download it on two devices - they are currently a one-time only download, so to get them on a second device you need to copy them from the first device to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync it to other devices that you have.
