Why am I getting black boxes and lines in Facebook chat area?

I just installed the latest version of Firefox as well as the latest version of my graphics card drivers, and Adobe Flash Player. When I open Facebook, I get black boxes and lines all over the left side of the screen where my chat contacts are. I am wondering why this is happening and if there is a current fix to it, as it is rather annoying. When I hover my mouse next to or over the black boxes and lines, they move and continue to pop up elsewhere but only on the friends/chat area.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

This is still not clear. To post a screenshot get the "stuff" you want to show in view on your screen, then type the key combination <Command>+<Shift>+3. The cursor will change to a crosshair. Click and hold on the top-left corner, then drag to enclose what you want to show (to the bottom-right corner), then release. The screenshot will appear on your desktop and will be named something like "".
Now click the camera icon in the tool bar for this forum:
, click the text box to allow you to navigate to, and select your screenshot.

The graph does not seem to be associated with the table of data you are showing. Generally when you highlight a graph the corresponding table will highlight and show the source of each of the series in the graph (dark and light blue).
This is what I would expect to see when highlighting a graph:
Right now I think there is ANOTHER table arround that is the source for the graph and the table you show is "just another table". You can move your data into the table the graph refers to by copy and paste, or simply typing the values. You can change how many series there are by grabbing the little circle at the bottom right of the highlighted cells (when you have the graph highlighted) and dragging as shown:

Security Update 2014-002 Black boxes and screen sticking

Today after installing the security update 2014-002 on mavericks i am getting black boxes or black backgrounds when shifting screens. In Safari when i am scrolling down it is behaving the same way displaying text and pictures stuck wile moving. Is there any way to get one step back or to delete the new update. Please, help me solving this issue. I shouldn't had updated. The updates are so unreliable.
I went to safe mode and it becomes worse in safe mode.

I connected the charger many times it didn't worked. Yes exactly it stopped charging. Then i tried again and again removing and moving the pin and it worked suddenly. i wasn't able to imagine that i purchased it in 2014 January. How it is possible that the brand new and so expensive item behave like this.
The problem i was facing is solved too after this behavior. As soon as my laptop started charging i switch from one screen to another right/left dashboard. Scroll up/down in safari. It is moving the same as before amazing fast.
I didn't installed or uninstalled anything as others did. I didn't understood at all how come the charger was stopped charging and how such awkard problems happened that made the laptop so slow that it behaves like it is dying or maybe something went wrong with the graphic card.

Ok I checked and unchecked the playback via camera yesterday and I got black screen both times.
I could delete the imovie prefs when I go over there today.
I'll try another FW cable but it worked perfectly for importing but what the heck I've got one I'll try it.
Yes camera was set to play and not record.
Plenty of free space -- 131 GB.
I'm pretty sure it's in NTSC DV format, but it's someone else's computer so it could have been changed by someone screwin' around not knowing what they're doing making changes.

Text Boxes and Lines on Full Screen Images?

In iBooks Author I'm trying to create images with text boxes and lines overlayed on top of the images (I don't like the interactive image widget, I want just text with no gray box and a single line of text, no need for title and description, also don't need the zoom capability on each label). I can do this fine in a basic, two column layout but when I tap on an image within a figure to see it full screen on the iPad I want the text and lines to also come full screen. Any ideas? I seemed to have a solution by enabling placeholder text authoring but that's proven inconsistent.

SAP Script: Boxes and Lines appear on FIRSTpage but NOT in NEXT

I have code to create boxes, lines and shade . This code is in the "Main" window of the "FIRST" page and "NEXT page.
The program prints boxes, lines and shade in the FIRST page. When "Main" window fills up with data in "FIRST" page, then "NEXT" page prints. The boxes and lines and shade do not print in the "NEXT" page.
Can some one please help ?

Where are the the "Boxes, lines and shade in the FIRST page"? The MAIN window is usually used to display lists. The length of the MAIN window dictates how many pages will be printed. If you have any static boxes, lines or shading (ie always the same spot on the page) then maybe you should not put them in the MAIN window.
If you must have them in the MAIN window, I would suggest that you find out which Text Element they are in. The SAPscript Print Program must explicitly call these Text Elements in order to make them appear (via the WRITE_FORM function).
If you want to print things like list headings and the like, you should pass 'TOP' into the TYPE parameter in your WRITE_FORM.
eg.
Let's say you want to display the "Header" Text Element as the heading (this heading has boxes, lines, etc) of your list.
call function 'WRITE_FORM'
exporting
    element = 'HEADER'
    function = 'SET'
    type     = 'TOP'
    window   = 'MAIN'
importing....

Then I'd check the system drive, if it has problems.
To check your System drive boot into the Recovery Partition, see: OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
Restart your Mac and hold down the Command key and the R key (Command-R), and keep holding them until the Apple icon appears, indicating that your Mac is starting up.
You will see a panel, where you can use Disk Utility to check your System Drive.

The last time someone reported this problem with Oil paint, the fix was to go Preferences (Ctrl k) > Performance and set the cache levels to something other than '1'. If you cache levels were not previously set to 1 then we'll need to think again.

Blog page - boxes and lines

Hello,
I have a blog page that has a few extra boxes and lines that I can't delete. They are generated when you create a new page, but I don't want them to show up. They are sort of lighter colored alignment lines.
What is the deal on them? Some I can modify or delete, others I can not.

Select the Zoom Tool in the tool box and see if Scrubby Zoom is unchecked or greyed out in the tool options bar.

Yes those are supposed to be videos. I can see them now. These videos are hosted on Youtube. Some people have experienced temporary issues but later have been able to view the videos. I suggest coming back and trying again, or try another browser.

Black box or line appears in New Message when forwarding MS Word or PDF doc

Strange thing...
Ever since I formatted and rebuilt my iMac and MacBook Pro last week with Snow Leopard, Mac Mail is acting funny. When I forward a document from MS Word or Acrobat Reader, I get a large black box or black line in the New Message line which wipes out my signature. I have a screen shot but I don't see a way to post it with my inquiry.
Any ideas?

I am experiencing the same problem. It does not happen when I drag a PDF from Finder into a new Mail message. It does happen, though, when I try to "Mail Selected PDF Document" from Preview. The problem didn't start until I installed Safari 5.
My workaround for right now when I see the black box in Mail is to: select all, cut, hit delete (this gets rid of the last strip of black), then paste. This re-places the PDF without any kind of black box.
Fingers are crossed that this gets fixed sooner rather than later....
