Why am I getting "Not Authorized" then when I sign in I get "This computer is already authorized"
Hello,
I migrated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion on my new iMac. Why when I down load using iTunes 11.0.2 I get the following loop of windows:
I click Authorize
I enter my Apple ID and Password
I click OK
Then then after a couple of seconds the windows repeat again from "This computer is already authorized ..."
Please Help! Getting very frustrating! Long time Apple customer since 1985. This is the worst exsperience I have ever had with Apple products!
I fix my problem with a resolution from onelove on macrumors forum who said:
"Select song or app. that's not authorized, itunes will ask for your password, enter password, click ok, and ok again. Done.".
What I had done months ago was use a different Apple ID ( i.e. email address ) for severeal of my APPS. Latter I started using my mobiel me appel id email address [email protected].
So I just authorized one app using the apple id email address I used at that time and that fixed the problem for the remaining apps that were also originall authorized with the same Apple ID email address.

How does one fix the problem of iTunes saying my computer is not authorized to play songs I've recently purchased, even though I continue to sign in for authorization? This is bullcrap.
Okay, that sounds like the dodgy tracks have been getting damaged during the download.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
iTunes skips a song. It tells me, "This computer is not authorized to play this song. Would you like to authorize it?" So I enter my password. Then it tells me, "This computer is already authorized." But when I try to play it, it's still "not authorized".

I tried that with one song and it charged me for it. I've got hundreds of songs my new iMac won't play! Help!
If you purchased the song from the iTunes Store go to your purchase history and re-download it from there. You will not be charged again.

I successfully transferred my itunes to another PC, when I click on most (not all) songs, it tells me to authorize the computer, I authorize it, it says this computer is already authorized, but when i click on a song, it tells me to authorize again. help
Are the songs authorised to the same account?
Often people change their e-mail address over time, and also decide to set up new iTunes account names using that e-mail. You can (and should) continue to use an old e-mail address as your account name. Then you don't run into the issue of having different songs authorised to different accounts.
To check the authorised account for the song, click "Get info" on the song name in iTunes. It will show the account name in the Summary panel.
If you have set up multiple accounts, log into each one, and burn the songs to CD as audio tracks (i.e. like a normal CD, not a data CD). You can then re-import the files into iTunes without the authorisation embedded into the song. -
When I go to move a song from my library I got the message "this computer is not authorized"... if I go to the store pop down and authorize the compter is says "this computer is already authorized".... what's going on?
If a small number of your iTunes purchases are affected, delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country. If you get that message for every item, click here and follow the instructions.

When I try to play an itunes purchased movie it says I have to authorize this computer. When I put in my log in information it says this computer is already authorized and will still not play the move. I have tried to deauthorize and reauthorize this computer, delete and reinstall itunes and Quicktime and nothing works; the purchased movies still will not play
I'm having the same problem on my new iMac. First it tells me it's not authorized to play the songs, then when I enter my password, it tells me it's already authorized, but still won't play them. I tried deleting a song and going to the store to redownload it and got charged for it! I've got hundreds of songs, so that's not going to be an option.
In addition, I have quite a few songs from a very old Apple ID, one I forgot I even had, I have no idea what the password was and no way to have the system send me a new password because I no longer have access to that email account.
The Mac I just "retired" could play all the songs in my catalog just fine. This new one won't play the majority of them.

I downloaded a song from itunes and it says my computer is not authorized to play it, to authorized enter your apple id and password so I did, then it said that this computer was already authorized, but it still won"t let me play the song! What do I do?
Apparently not!! I am NOT happy about it either! I had always bought my mp3's from walmart.com (until they quit doing it) & ANY time I had a problem, they had it corrected in less than 5 minutes! Apple is a large enough company, that they should have an EASY to find support system. Having to post on here, WAITING for someone who MIGHT know how to fix it, is aggrevating!! I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY MORE MUSIC FROM ITUNES & WILL BE GOING TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN APPLE PRODUCT!

I bought song with itunes card. The song won't play on my computer or devices. The messages says I need to authorize my computer to play the song. However, when I "authorize" my computer I get message that this computer is already authorized.
and, what is even more strange...
I actually bought 2 Billy Joel songs NY State of Mind from Essential Billly Joel and Italian Restaurant from Greatist Hits vol 1. Neither song would play.
I went back the Apple store and tried to re-download NYSOM. It let me do it for free. Before I checked I tried to re-dowload IR but inadvertantly selected same song but from The Stranger. I had to pay for this one. The re-downloaded NYSOM still didn't work but IR I bought from Stranger worked. So, I bought NYSOM from Greatest Hits vol 1. Didn't work!!! Tried again and bought from another album, Turnstiles, and that one worked. So, I bought 5 songs, only 2 of which will work.
So, now I ask - is there any way to get my money back? -
I purchased a film but it won't play because iTunes says I need to authorize the computer, but when I do that it says the computer is already authorized. Huh - some system. Any ideas?
Using Windows 7Hey Louni,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are having issues with Authorizing your computer to play content. The following articles may help to resolve this issue:

iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization

Album says it needs authorization, but then it says that this computer is already authorized. I have logged in and out. Deauthorized and authorized my computer again.
I fixed a very similar issue here with a short walk through! - Same concept
I had this problem before with a track from Kendrick Lamar's album "good kid, m.A.A.d city"
Enjoy! -
"This Computer is Already Authorized" error on Itunes
So starting yesterday, I was unable to play any of the songs I had ever purchased on iTunes?
Every time I try to play a song, I get this message that says, "This computer is not authorized" to play the song. But...my computer is the only one on my account that is authorized to play anything.
When I select the option to authorize the computer, I get another message saying, "This computer is already authorized."
I tried deauthorizing the computer and reauthorizing it, signing in and out of iTunes. It seems like neither of these options fix the problem.I also have the same problem, though I had done an archive and reinstall I believe it worked afterwards. I tried all the fixes, none worked. Actually when I went to delete the sc info folder, it didn't have anything in it. After I deleted it, turned off the computer turned it on the sc info folder did not reappear. I also tried deauthorizing and authorizing again, nothing. I've emailed itunes support but it looks like I will also be reinstalling itunes!

when i try to sync my nano, all songs will not download because they were purchased in itunes store and this computer is not authorized, but itunes store says that the computer is authorized.
Hey ronfromroanoke,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
These articles should be able to make sure the computer and devices are allowed to work.

I just got a windows 7 computer. Can not sync because i can not seem to authorize this computer for some i tunes purchases. I repeatedly authorized the computer but I still keep getting the same message
Doublechecking. In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

This album is American Idol Top 4 Season 12 - the song that brings up the dialog box is Emotion by Candice Glover.
Is there a way to redown load the album with out repaying? Is that the best fix??
Thanks,
ScottDelete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persist, go here:
iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
Regards. -
What does auto-download mean and why am i getting this message?
Just to be clear - I just bought a new song and can't download it into the library because of this error message.
