Why am I getting the following message - itunes was unable to load data class information from sync services

Has anybody received this message when trying to sync? - itunes was unable to load data class information from sync services. All purchased apps were lost. Do you know how to recover them?

I recently began getting an error message: "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later." How can I correct this?

I am having problems syncing my ipod touch. I keep getting this message. iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services. Reconnect or try again later

When I try to sync my ipod touch 5. I get the following message. iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services. Reconnect or try again later.
I get the same message when I try to sync my iPhone 4s
Should I uninstall/reinstall itunes and if so should it be all the programmes associated with Apple or just iTunes

I purchased some songs to download to my ipod and keep getting the following message: iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services.
The songs have transferred okay to my ipad and iphone with no issue.
ipod has sw update 6.1.6.
Have tried the various suggestions regarding this issue on the site, but without success.
Are there any other suggestions?
I am using Windows 7.
I see from a google search that this is a common problem so why hasn't it been rectified in bug fixes?

HT1386 my ipad won't sink; I continually get message: itunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later. I have done both several times and still receive same messaage.

I cancel the message and iTunes proceeds to sync with my iPhone 4. The phone and iTunes software are the latest releases. My PC is running Windows 8.1, which had to be reinstalled after the system crashed, requiring a total reinstall of all software.

I am unable to sync my ipad 2 or iphone 4 through itunes. I have tried all suggested options, removing itunes and related components from control panel + verified completely uninstalled from C program files + then reinstalling latest version of itunes (version 11.3.1.2). Also tried running itunes as administrator. Also tried reset sync history in itunes Also tried system restore on windows 7 from earlier period.Still get the same above message.
I run 64bit windows 7. Have recently renewed my Norton Intenet Security. Everything was OK up till then. Could this have anything to do with it.

A quick cursory browse seems to point that the problem is on Apples end since the last update of iTunes, theres loads of forum posts about it but Apple themselves arent responding as yet other then the usual "unplug, delete sync data, reconnect or completely uninstall iTunes" spiel which doesnt work so hopefully they will fix it sooner or later

The article says that I should upgrade to the latest iTunes. I am on the latest iTunes version.
If you could read just a tiny little bit further, under the "Additional Information" section immediately after that, it says:
If you are still experiencing this issue when syncing, or have not installed Xcode 4 and get this alert:
Follow the troubleshooting steps in Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder.
If the issue is still unresolved, follow steps in Sync Services: Advanced troubleshooting for contact and calendar syncing.
Have you tried those measures?
