Why am I getting updates every day to the same three apps?

For the past week, each day I log in to the internet on my iMac (OS 10.8.5), my Creative Cloud app notifies me that updates are available to the same three apps: Photoshop CC, InDesign CS6, and InDesign CC. (Each day, I duly authorize the updates, and they are reported successfully installed.) Is this because there are actually new changes each day to these applications? Or is Creative Cloud app not recognizing that previous changes have already been made?

Thanks for your thoughts on this issue. I do NOT use any type of system
optimization utilities. Here are a few more details about my situation,
including the results of using an alternative admin user.
In looking at the "what's new" details provided for each application
"needing" an update in the CC app (on my iMac), I notice that the version
of the Photoshop CC update is 14.2, the same as the version of PS CC on my
computer. But for Illustrator CC, the update version is 17.1.0, the version
according to the Finder "Info" is 17.0.0, but when I actually open
Illustrator CC and check "About Illustrator", version 17.1.0 is indicated.
Now I'm really confused! It looks like the version information visible to
the Finder, at least, isn't being changed during the update process. Could
this indicate where the problem is?
Looking under "info" in the Finder for the Adobe applications, I notice
that the "Owner" of all the Adobe applicationsPS CC, ID CC, etc.is
"root (0)", the "Group" is "admin (80)". Many, but not all, of non-Adobe
applications on my iMac have the "Owner" as "harryhull (502)", "Group" as
"admin (80)". Could this have any bearing on the issue?
In the CC app, under Preferences>Apps, I have chosen "[Macintosh
HD]/Applications", which is where all these, and my non-Adobe, applications
reside.
OK, when I use an alternative admin user account and then I log in to CC,
ALL the Adobe applications are shown as up to date. Under the CC app's
Preferences for Apps, I left location as "default location". When I check
Finder "Info" for Illustrator CC, it still shows as v. 17.0.0. When I log
out of that user and back in to my normal user account, the CC app shows
the same apps as needing updates.
Any further thoughts?

    5. Can't even access some websites due to their spam content, I.e. They trying to force me to watch an advert, befor moving on to the item I clicked on.
    6. Some pages only load partially.
    7. Facebook and farmville loading dead slow. I could send the info faster with morse code and a straight key.
    any ideas?

This is about Firefox Nightly builds adding support for new security features.
A lot of web servers haven't implemented these yet and thus aren't working properly.
That is the risk that you run with using alpha development builds as those versions are meant for testers to check for issues with such new features.
You should stay with the current release version (Fx 32 has been released) if you aren't experienced enough to handle possible issues.

Why am I getting two different conversations when the same person txts me and sends me an I message? I thought they should be in the same conversation?

I'm experiencing something similar. My conversations are kept together but if the screen is opened to a conversation and I receive a text from that person it doesn't show up on the screen. The message alert in the upper corner indicates a new text but I have to back out of the screen and go back in to read it.

  • Why do I get daily notices to install the same update?

Why do I keep getting daily notices to install the same update?

Possibly because you have set firefox to ask you what to do when an update is available. Your sytem information suggests you are using firefox4.0 and the current main release is now firefox 4.0.1
Go to about firefox and use the manual update option, it should then update. If you continue to have problems
    # please confirm which version you do have installed

  • Mac Pro turns itself on every day at the same time

My Mac Pro suddenly decided to start turning itself on every day at 6:00:12pm local time (12:00:12AM GMT). It turns on at exactly 12 seconds after 6:00pm every day.
I recently upgraded to OSX 10.5 and installed the point update. It did it before the point update and continues to after the point update.
I have had it since April and it has never done this before. It did NOT do this under 10.4.
I have the options in system settings to NOT wake on LAN event and NOT restart after power failure. It is NOT set to automatically turn on but it is set to automatically turn itself off at 1:00am.
These settings have not changed since 10.4 and I have verified them. No other software has recently been installed since the update to 10.5. I did update the Wacom driver to the new Leopard driver. That is all. I have the Wacom tablet unplugged from the computer.
    Any ideas?

Updates installed by Software Update are "delta" updates - they go from 10.x.y to 10.x.y+1, and are customized for a particular Mac model. It appears that in this case they also patch some files instead of replacing them fully. The "combo" update will update 10.x.anything to the latest 10.x.y, it'll update any Mac model, and in this case it appears they contain full files instead of patches. The delta updater for 10.5.1 is about 39 MB; the combo updater is about 110 MB. You can download the combo updater from the Support site. Sites such as www.macfixit.com often recommend installing the combo updater instead of, or after, the delta updater, as it often solves mysterious problems. One specific example is the numerous "SUID" messages when doing a "repair permissions" - the combo update gets rid of all but one, and that one is specifically stated by Apple to be okay. Of course, no guarantees, but the combo updater is a reasonable thing to try.

  • Satellite A500 keeps waking up every day at the same time

I have recently bought a A500 laptop and installed Linux there. Almost everything works fine, but I have a strange problem with suspending. My laptop wakes up every time at 8.19 am. Recently I even noticed that sometimes it simply turns on after I shut it down the evening before. Everything at the same time, always.
I know that this might seem as a Linux problem, but I had two different Linux systems installed (Gentoo and Ubuntu) and used two different terminal commands. I think this might be something with BIOS (I didn't upgrade it or something, it's all default), but I have checked all the options there and haven't found anything that might be connected to my problem.

You would find the solution here in the forum if you would use the Forum search option!!!
This issue has been discussed a lot of time in different threads
    BIOS update is the solution!

  • Receiving upgrade prompt every day for the same version

I am receiving a prompt in Creative Cloud to upgrade Photoshop CC. Every day. To the same version.
What gives? Is it not upgrading properly? Is this a known bug?
    thanks,

… aaand the prompt returns again today. For the same version that (should be) installed.
Not being facetious, really am curious: Does anyone at Adobe monitor these forums? Or is this a user-support / sharing form?
    thanks,

  • Why do I get two different results from the same coefficients?

I am getting two different results from the Polynomial Evaluation function.
For the first one, I am getting the coefficients from a Polynomial Fit function.  I feed the coefficients from the Fit function into the Poly Eval function and get the correct result of 12.8582 when I evaluate 49940.
For the second one, I create constant array of the SAME values that were returned from the Polynomial Fit function (i typed them in).  However, I am getting an incorrect result of -120.7913 when I feed the constant array into the Poly Eval function when I evauate 49940.
How can this happen when I am using the same array values?
Attached is an image of what I am explaining.

    Hi Altran,
are you sure about using the "same" coefficients?
Did you compare them? Did you (atleast) set the display properties to 17 significant digits?
Please attach a VI instead of a picture...

  • Updates every day or night??

Why do I have updates every day and/or night when I shut down my computer (G62)? Help!!!??

    Try this.
    a. Click on Start and click on Control panel.
    b. Go to Program and Features.
    c. Scroll down to "Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile", right click it.
    d. It will give you a choice of Uninstall/Change, click it.
    e. Then, it will give a choice to Repair it, pick Repair it.  It will take about 4-10 minutes to repair (with my PC) your experience may vary.
    f. When completed, go to Windows Update in Control panel and click "check for updates" on the left side, then try to install the 2 updates. again.

  • Keyboard Firmware Update EVERY DAY???

How do I get software update to stop asking to update every day? I ran the update the first day it asked and now every single day the darned thing asks to update it again! AARGH!

Actually, that doesn't install anything. It just downloads the file, and as long as you don't run the file, it should still be there. The installer file will be in your Utilities folder (in applications) and have the name of firmware. follow the instructions so that the install goes correctly. Once you've done that, you've actually updated your firmware, and it will go away. This took me a while to figure out when it happened to me on a work's mac pro 3 years ago.

  • An old report gets reprinted every day

    Hello all,
We have an application that based on Oracle Reports and Forms.
Now, one of the old reports, originally printed 6 months ago, gets reprinted every day.
We don't have any ideas why. No one on purpose does it
I was wondering if any of you have experienced the same issue.
    Thank you, Sonya

By report you very likely mean report output, or report result?
If so, looks like the report has been scheduled to run every day, and the start date was set 6 month ahead. Someone's error, or something. See your application manual on how to schedule / unschedule / view scheduled reports.

2 weeks ago my line was upgraded after a phone call to BT, initially everything was great, speeds were not much better for the first coupld of days (950Kb/s) but then shot up to 1250Kb/s for a few days. Since then however my line has been getting slower every day. Today is the worst and I am now getting 690Kb/s.
I know I'm going to get the usual "leave router connected for 3 day" answer of someone, but what does this achieve ? If my line says connected at 6.5Mbps and I leave it on for 3 days solid does that mean 3 days of being stuck at that speed or does the line recalculate connection speed at certain intervals ?

Thats my line stats as it stands , down from 11Mbps connection a week ago . Cannot connect to the main socket as where the line comes in the house is just a blank faceplate with a cable coming out the bottom into a smaller box then out and accross the room to the only phone socket in the property.
At this rate I would have been better staying on my old package instead of being made to take out a new contract at less favourable terms.

Nothing but a phone connected to the line. The sky box has never been connected to the line as last year when we got a Sky HD box slowed the connection right down.
As for the router being on for the 10 days, no one ever said that to me. The only reason I know that turning it off daily could be a negative was through this forum.
As for my original question. If I now leave the router on permanately does it reconfigure the connection istelf or does it have to be reset every now and then. Very frustrating going from 850Kb/s on adslmax to 1200+ then down to sub 700.
I am unable to run a speed test at the moment , but with only the homehub connected to the master socket the results look like much the same , The hub seems to be connecting at bang on 6.5Mbs every time so I assume the line has been set to this by the DLM ? How long on ADSL 2 does it take to work its way back up ? I ran a speed test earlier today and I belive my IP profile was 5.85 or some such , why would it be set so low when the line was happy at 10+ last week ?

Go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings. the connecto to iTunes and restore as a New phone. Do not restore any backup. If the problem persists you have a hardware problem. Take it to Apple for exchange.
This assumes that the phone is not hacked or jailbroken. If it is you will have to go elsewhere on the internet for help.
