    Just go back in photoshop and use the Slice Select tool, then just click and select the slice and hit delete - if you're not sure which one is the active slice just right click and find the one that has the Delete Slice option.
    It's possible you either added the slices by accident or if you received it from someone they just had the slices hidden. For the future, you can go to View > Show > Slices to display (or hide) slices.

  • How do I get original shape of photos. Mine have all changed to square , losing part of the image. Infuriating!

    My photo library has changed the shape of all my images to square meaning I have lost part of the image. How do I revert all the images to their original shape? Very annoying!

    All the images are now square with rounded corners, very "arty" but substantil parts of the image is lost as all my photos are A shape ie they are normal photo negative shape. Ther seems to be no tool on the latest iPhoto to make the change back to originals. I have nearly 1000 photos  so changing them back one by on is not practical

  • Why I am losing aspects of the PDF after replacing pages?

    Hi,
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro with Windows 7, and I want to replace certain pages in one PDF with certain pages from another PDF. The pages are replaced, but anything that was added with the typewriter is lost in the pages I'm replacing. In other words, it replaces the pages, but does not copy across the page numbers and a few other additions that I made with the typewriter. Am I doing something wrong or is the program not capable of carrying across the additions? I am desperate & would appreciate any help! Thanks.

    First of all, this forum is about Adobe Reader. The Acrobat forums are located here: http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat
    Regarding your question: Try to flatten the file before copying the pages over. Doing so makes your edits an integral part of the PDF page and should cause them to carry over.

  • Why do the colors in my RGB image change when uploading to the web?

    I'm editing my image within Photoshop & have worked with it being RGB from the very start. I place the saved image in Dropbox so I can access it from my phone to place on all my social media accounts. Once I got  to upload the image on the web to my social accounts the colors completely change becoming dull & drab, it looks nothing like the image I saved. Been racking my brain on how to fix this but haven't had a solution that worked yet. Suggestions?

    Hi Danippo13,
    check out this video which explains very well the difference between different color profiles Visualizing Color Profiles on Vimeo and remember that the web uses "standard RGB - 72 dpi".
    I will recommend this setting  in Edit Menu> Color Settings

  • Why does my CS5 Bridge gallery not appear after being uploaded?

    Hello,
    I have recently created a series of galleries built into Dreamweaver. I used <iframe> to incorporate and it previewed in the browser just fine. After uploading the gallery does not appear. Please review this site and code for any recommendations.
    www.jakgallery.com/19901999.html
    Thanks very much! Mike

    Take the Bridge created index.html page and associated files and folders and copy them to your Dreamweaver site folder, making sure not to overwite your existing index page or folders you may want to rename the Bridge Created files something els like add a 2. Then open the Bridge created index.html file with Dreamweaver, switch to code view and then select all t eh coed and copy it to your clipboard. Now open up your own Dreamweaver page or create a new page inyour Dreamweaver managed site and switch to code view, select all and paste previously copied code into it. Make sure to double check that URLs  point correctly to where your resources are making sure that wherever your photos are called in the code point to the folder and image where that particular folder is located in your site.
    someone else came up with this so if they see this I thank you.

  • Moving Master Images after Facebook Upload

    I'm using a fully updated version of Aperture 3 and ran into a problem today moving master images that I have not experienced before.  My normal workflow is to batch import images from my camera every few days in one large import, so I often have multiple subjects in every batch.  For my 9 months with the program I have always downloaded everything into a temporary holding project I literally call "Hold".  When I get the time to do a detailed review, I then delete what I don't want and move (drag) the master images I want to keep from "Hold" into other subject-matter-unique projects across the library.  This works for me and has worked flawlessly until today when I downloaded about 20 images.  What I did differently today was I took things out of my usual order and decided to quickly upload 3 of the images from the "Hold" folder to Facebook using the Aperture Uploader.  The upload went fine, as it has in the past, but the problem surfaced when I then tried to move all the master images out of "Hold" to my permanent library file (project) structure.  The 17 images (which were not uploaded to Facebook) moved out to their new projects just fine, as always, but the 3 masters which were the source for the Facebook upload will not allow themselves to be moved out of "Hold".  When I drag them to the intended project, Aperture copies them into that project, but the original stays in "Hold."  Of course, if I try to then delete what is in "Hold" (with a copy safely filed away elsewhere in the Library) I get the warning that I am attempting to delete a master upon which other versions are dependent (to include "Facebook albums" it says), and all will be deleted.
    My take on this is the Facebook upload from "Hold", and the resulting versions created in the Facebook album (far bottom entries on the Library listing), now make "Hold" a permanent home for those associated master images.  Is there some way to get around this and actually move the master images to where I want them to be AND to de-clutter the "Hold" folder?  Or does this mean any use of Aperture's very handy (at least to date) Facebook uploader permanently glues a master to whatever project it was in when it was uploaded, never to fully and completely move again?  Thanks.

    I just made a test of this, and can confirm the apparent behavior.  However, I examined the Masters folder in the Package of the Library (and I have a Managed Library) and I believe there may be some referencing between Projects taking place.  The same appears to result where you have created a slideshow.  In the Facebook album and in the Slideshow album, the file info reports the master file name -- in my case the xxxx.NEF file, which clearly none of them really are, but rather some version.
    I will try to do a more precise test where I can measure the size of the Masters folder to see if the "Move" adds to its size by an amount equal to the size of the Master file.
    Interesting!

  • Manual image transformation: Losing top of the image

    With LR3 I often use the manual image transformations and observe an undesirable effect, which I cannot explain to myself: When changing the Vertical Perspective to a negative value, the image will be transformed to cope with the perspective as intended, but its top will be shifted out of sight as well. For example, when correcting the image of a tall building, the top of its tower shifts out of sight. An example:
    After applying vertical correction -33 it looks like this:
    The entire top of the tower is gone, on the bottom though we see the "out of image" area, and we cannot shift the image downward to see the top of the tower rather than the "gray" on the bottom. I found no way to avoid this, until I discovered that I can change the  scaling factor (while losing the resulting image resolution :-() and than this missing part of the image will be visible again.
    Once we scale to 84% the above image, we can see the top of the tower again. Of course, we can crop out the gray areas manually:
    However, the pixel size of the image is really reduced proportionally to the scale factor, here 0.84.
    Why is that so? I am almost convinced, its a bug.
    Thomas

    I would not be too worried about losing resolution etc.
    If you do a lens correction like the one in the example of the "leaning tower", it is "major surgery" mo matter if you do it in LR or PS.
    The top of the image gets enlarged while the bottom stays the same size.
    You can think of this kind of lens correction as an image enlargement through a gradual filter that runs vertically.
    As enlargements always do, it degrades image quality.
    If you are concerned about retaining max image quality, in my opinion it's best to stay away from correction of lens distortion.
    But I realize, sometimes we don't have that choice.

  • Parts of PDF image missing

    I am very puzzled. I downloaded an owners manual from the manufacturer's website in PDF format. I downloaded to my MacBook Pro, and on my Macbook Pro, the manual is perfect. However, when I move the manual to the Books section of iTunes and upload it to iBooks, parts of the exploded diagrams are missing. In fact, in some cases, some of the entire image is missing. Instead of going that way, I uploaded it to Dropbox. Once again, on my MacBook Pro, the manual is perfect. When I look at my Dropbox folder on the web (via Safari), it's parfect. But when I access Dropbox through my iPad, parts of the images are missing. When I went to the manufacturer's website via Safari on my iPad and looked at the manual online via my iPad, the same parts of the images are missing. The text is all perfect. I have never had this happen to me before, and I keep a LOT of manuals, articles and magazines on my iPad. Does anyone know why this could be happening and what, if anything, I can do about it?

    Not enough info. What version of ID? What version of AI?
    How are you saving the AI files? What are you PDF export settings?
    Have you checked everything with overprint preview on?

  • I'm unable to use a brush mask over certain parts of an image...

    I am brand new to Lightroom, coming over from Photoshop and it is immensely different, still trying to figure the workflow out. There are times that I want to add a brush mask over parts of an image, but for some reason, whenever I try to edit a particular region, the brush disappears and turns back into the selection arrow. Can anyone explain to me why this happens?
    Thanks!

    Indeed, if it's a phishing attempt as BobTheFisherman points out, an active "unsubscribe" link might well be notification to the Spammer that your email address is live and can be sold to others for further use. You don't want to tell the Spammer that.

  • Photoshop has left a pixelated strip on part of my image?

    I have been mocking up an image on Photoshop, the final image basically consists of a variation of placed images. Whenever I zoomed in, one small part of the image wouldn't load properly and instead be pixelated. Usually it would go away once I either zoomed in or out a step further. But now it has just remained there and I have a pixelated strip that won't go away.
    I'm not too sure why this may have occurred?
    This is a small screenshot of the strip:
    I would greatly appreciate some insight and possible solutions to this issue.
    Thank you!

    There are lots of JPG repair apps on the Net. Some of them are even free.
    Here's a wee tale of woe:
    My wife's computer was getting sicker and sicker so we decided to do a clean reinstal of Windows 7.  I copied all the data off it, and replaced it after reinstalling Win 7 - except it wasn't all there.  My wife is mad keen on family history, and had stacks of irriplaceable data.  It would not have gone down well if I'd lost it for her.  The files definitely weren't on the USB3 pocket drive I'd used, and things were looking desperate.  Then I remembered that I'd done another full back up of her system a month ago, and all the data was safe.
    I've lost two drives in recent years, and both times was oh so thankful that I had proper backups.

  • Fill a part of an image

    Hi everybody,
    I'm a new french iPhone developer
    I'm searching since few days how to fill a part of an image for my iPhone application.
    I think that I must use the CGContext functions but I found not anything... I understood how make few operations on my UiImageView. But I draw an eclipse, a rect... but not a "zone"?
    I've an example for explain my idea :
    http://uploads.bodin-hullin.net/41be0528efcdf5170b0acd18ebe210f6.png
    The square is the UIImage.
    When I touch the #1 circle, this circle is filled with my color.
    When I touch the #2 circle, the same, with another color why not.
    Can you help me ?
    Thanks for all

    Hi Jacques-
    again, this isn't the only approach, but here's something that could work.
    #1) Separate the individual shapes into individual images, white with black background. To make things easier, save in a format that does not have an alpha channel. (keeping each shape in its relative position within your bounds). I'd suggest trying a 50% gray for the lines and adjust later if needed. Just do this to a few images to try out the code.
    #2) In the code fragment I posted before, set "image" to one of those saved files. This should give you a colorized image, keeping the black background.
    #3) If you wish to remove the background, it's much more complex, but try the following:
    add a method like so:
    - (UIImage *)maskImg: (NSString *) filename
    CGColorRef fillColor = [UIColor yellowColor].CGColor; // Yellow for test
    CGImageRef baseImage = [[UIImage imageNamed:filename] CGImage];
    CGImageRef maskImage;
    CGContextRef context;
    CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace;
    colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB();
    // create a bitmap graphics context the size of the image
    context = CGBitmapContextCreate (NULL, self.bounds.size.width, self.bounds.size.height, 8, 0, colorSpace, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast);
    // free the rgb colorspace
    CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace);
    if (context==NULL)
    return NULL; // avoid errors
    CGContextDrawImage(context, self.bounds, baseImage);
    CGContextSetBlendMode (context, kCGBlendModeMultiply);
    CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(context, fillColor);
    CGContextFillRect(context, self.bounds);
    CGContextSetBlendMode (context, kCGBlendModeNormal);
    baseImage = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(context);
    //baseImage = [self remAlpha:baseImage]; //should work without this line and method if images don't have an alpha channel
    const float myMaskingColors[6] = { 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 }; // can be a range, in this case we only want to mask out black
    maskImage = CGImageCreateWithMaskingColors (baseImage, myMaskingColors);
    CGContextRelease(context);
    UIImage *img = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:maskImage];
    //CGImageRelease(bitmap);
    CGImageRelease(maskImage);
    CGImageRelease(baseImage);
    // return the image
    return img;
    and then in the drawRect, you'd just do something like:
    UIImage *img = [self maskImg:@"test.jpg"]; //for testing
    [img drawInRect:rect];
    for your end purposes, you may want to add the color as another parameter of the maskImg method.... this stuff can be very tricky sometimes to setup... I know I experimented for hours getting no image, or a solid color block, etc... before perfecting this code.... hope this works for you..
    I don't think you need to call this method if your images don't have an alpha channel, but I'm including it just in case:
    -(CGImageRef)remAlpha:(CGImageRef)ref
    //CGImageRef ref=img.CGImage;
    int mWidth=CGImageGetWidth(ref);
    int mHeight=CGImageGetHeight(ref);
    int count=mWidthmHeight4;
    void *bufferdata=malloc(count);
    CGColorSpaceRef colorSpaceRef = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB();
    CGBitmapInfo bitmapInfo = kCGBitmapByteOrderDefault;
    CGColorRenderingIntent renderingIntent = kCGRenderingIntentDefault;
    CGContextRef cgctx = CGBitmapContextCreate (bufferdata,mWidth,mHeight, 8,mWidth*4, colorSpaceRef, kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedLast);
    CGRect rect = {0,0,mWidth,mHeight};
    CGContextDrawImage(cgctx, rect, ref);
    bufferdata = CGBitmapContextGetData (cgctx);
    CGDataProviderRef provider = CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL, bufferdata, mWidthmHeight4, NULL);
    CGImageRef savedimageref = CGImageCreate(mWidth,mHeight, 8, 32, mWidth*4, colorSpaceRef, bitmapInfo,provider , NULL, NO, renderingIntent);

  • Using applet to select a part of an image and then save it

    Hi ,
    I want to use applet to select a part of an image and then save that particular selected part to a server. can anyone provide me a code for this. I have found codes on the sun site which help in uploading an image but I am having trouble in trying to select a part of the image.

    Sorry to get back to you so late, but I was away from my computer this afternoon.
    I'm not sure just what you are after. I do see that you have positioned the tree on the labels. I went to the web site for the label company, and their instructions are not too helplful.
    http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=15sBkl9OZE9xSkHoLMxgwjTFv2VCg1
    I changed the white portion of 1 label to black - - this can be any color. To do this use the magic wand tool, tolerance=10 worked for me, then go to Edit>fill selection.
