Why am I only able to post a comment on Facebook only after I click on the "reload current page button"?
This problem just started a couple of days ago. I had no problems before doing these simple tasks before. It is quite annoying to me that I have to continually click on the "reload current page" button each and every time I want to post a comment on Facebook. Does anyone know what the problem may be?
I notice you turned off the setting that diverts new windows to a new tab. Since the new window will open in front of your current tab, it may appear that the current tab was closed, when in fact it is behind the new window. This hard to explain in words.
Do you want to switch the setting?
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs
Check the box for "Open new windows in a new tab instead"

After getting the Firefox 29 download I tried to rearrange my buttons\controls to where I was used to having them in Firefox 28 and prior. I noticed, in particular, that the "Reload current page" control is no longer available to be set in front of the navigation bar where I've had it for years now. The reason I chose Firefox in the first place was because I could customize it to my liking. I know you can simply right click and "Reload" the tab or just get used to going to the end (right side) of the navigation bar but that defeats the purpose completely for me.
Here's an analogy; Ford decides they will now replace current model cars in the US with British standard style vehicles. Every car sold by Ford will now be right-hand steer. While this may seem like a "no biggy" to some, others, especially those of us who are inclined to drive standard transmission vehicles, may be a bit resistant to that change. Not sure if I successfully made my point or not but hopefully I did.
Initially I thought I'd start by "Has someone fallen and hit their head?' or "Did Steve Ballmer suddenly take over Mozilla, in particular the build of Firefox 29, because this one smells like a Windows 8 (aka the aroma of a full sewer tank on a hot day)?" It is understood that updates are required and as an IT guy, I've been around for many a faux pas where the kinks just need to be worked out. They happen. Maybe some consideration will be made with Firefox 30 to those of us in the states that are used to left-hand steer vehicles.
I may be missing something here, and will gladly fall on my sword if that is the case, but there is no indication that I've seen from the Mozilla sight that the "Reload current page" control can be manipulated in any way as of Firefox 29. On the bright side, I now have a good reason to go back and review some of the browsers I discounted back in the day when I decided to go with Firefox.As far as I know, [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ the Classic Theme Restorer add-on] is the only way move the Reload button outside the address bar.

# Open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A; Mac: Command+Shift+A), then the Extensions category.
# Next to Classic Theme Restorer, click the Options button.
# On the Main tab, make sure "Movable back-forward button" and "Hide urlbars stop & reload buttons" are checked. You might also want to check "Combine stop & reload buttons". Close the options window when done.
# Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
# Drag the Back/Forward, Stop and Reload buttons onto the navigation toolbar.
# Click the Exit Customize button in the lower right corner when done.
That being said, I should point out that you can reload pages in other ways.
* Right-click any tab and choose Reload.
* Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Reload.
* Press F5.
* Press Ctrl+R (Mac: Command+R). -
i couldnt find any "ok" or"send" button after i write something after threads of comments on my wall
Like others say, it is a bug with the Facebook app. They do not manage the bluetooth keyboard right and if there is on on-screen keyboard, they remove the "send" button. The solution that works for me is the following:
1. Write my comment with the bluetooth keyboard until I am ready to send.
2. Push the "Eject' button to turn off the bluetooth keyboard.
3. Wait a second for the Send button to appear
4. Press Send to post the comment
5. Press "Eject" to turn bluetooth keyboard back on.
This has worked for me just fine and although it is slightly frustrating, it is not impossible to remember. After all, with the Bluetooth keyboard turned on, there is no "Send" button. -

the cursor includes a text box from a previous image or link when the cursor is positioned on the side of the page. it will mainly happen when i hit "back" from the page i was on. i click and it goes away but only to return again on the next launched page. i also keep several tabs open and it will carry over to any one of them i go to. how do i get rid of this?

I have always been able to open e-mail photo attachments even after transferring them to the desktop or a thumbdrive, but after moving the last two to the desktop and trying to open them I get the message that ColorSync is unable to open files of this type. I believe they are jpegs.
When I attach a PDF to Apple Mail on Mountain Lion, it is an icon. When I send it to an iCloud mail destination, the attachment arrives and is presented as an icon, whether on OS X, or in IOS 6.
I suspect that the recipient's mail user agent is responsible for the full image .vs. icon behavior, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. -

How about the cookies for that domain - did you delete those cookies?
"Keep me logged in for ..... weeks/days" is usually done via setting a cookie in the browser so the website recognizes the browser when you return and automatically logs the user in to the website via that cookie.
It seems that some websites have a problem recognizing the "remember me" cookie after a Firefox update, and the user need to set a new cookie with the updated version of Firefox so the website will recognize your preference. This particular problem with some websites not recognizing their own "remember me" cookie started like 4 years ago, shortly after Firefox 3.0 was released with an all new method of storing cookies. In the last 4 years this problem is mentioned less often as the years went by, so some websites must have fixed it at their end - where other websites evidently haven't gotten a handle on it.
Websites really need to get involved in the various "programs" out there like Browser ID / Persona - https://login.persona.org/about - and get rid of that hokey "cookies" method of remembering the users preference for being automaticall logged in upon their return to their website. -
Why am i not able to post anywhere?
I have a general question about blocking access to programs, and the relevant discussion boards have no "Post new topic" button anywhere. I've searched every page and I even see posts from other users, yet I can't find a button anywhere that it is supposed to be.
I even tried going to the Tips board. I found a "new topic" button that I clicked on, and it tells me that I can't post there and asks me to login. When I try to, it says "error" and redirects me to some "helpful" links that don't help me at all.

You're probably on a Category page, and not a Forum page.
And submitting User Tips is only accessible to Level 2 members and above, so you are not able to post in that Forum.

Firefox worked great. I have been using it for years. When i completed the recent update to 3.6.13, the new tab button/extension little + box quit working. I can click and nothing happens. I right click, get the drop down menu but nothing works. I cannot open a blank tab or windwo as when i want to go somewhere new without closing windows i have open. The only way i can access a new tab is if i go to my bookmarks and open one then use that screen to go where i wanted to go. I've had to switch to Google Chrome to complete tasks i need done online, but it doesn't let me do a lot of what i want to.
I'll try to make this clear. I USED to be able to left click on a hyper link and the hyper link would open in a NEW tab. Now for some unknown reason the hyper link by default opens in the same tab (window). I have to right click the hyper link in order for it to open in a NEW tab. (Yes, my 'tools'> 'options'> 'tabs' are set to "open new windows in a new tab." (Please no answers telling me to get rid of the Ask toolbar because I don't have one.) Thank you.
