That is why. If you take the time to go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive. Then uncheck everything but the phone number for each particular device, you should be alright after that.

No. If your phone is not jailbroken, they can not do so.
There are plenty of ways to spoof the caller ID string, though. It's illegal, but it can be done. The messages are not being sent from your phone. They are being sent from somewhere else by someone masquerading as you.

Welcome to the EE Community! Provided you're texting an 07 number, it won't cost you anything extra to text someone abraod (provided that's included in your package). It will cost the person abroad to reply (but not receive texts), unless again they have some sort of add on in the country they're present in. Cheers,

Only if you have an iPhone using with iOS 6 or greater using the same APple ID for Settings>Messages>Send and Recevice.

I use this dictionary often, but I wish that I was able to copy and paste the text from it.

Just use the Dictionary application in the Applications folder. You will have no problem copying and pasting text from the full application. I just tried it and it works fine.

For imessage if you are signed in thru your apple id for all your devices, yes I believe you will receive it all.
NOt sure about text message.

Drag and drop text from another application

There used to be a really nice feature of Mail that has disappeared. I was able to select text in another application, e.g., Pages or Word or Safari, and drop it onto the Mail icon in the dock. A new message window would open with that text in the body of the message. I can still do this with images from Safari but that seems to be about it. I cannot do this with text. Has there been a change in Mail that causes this changed behavior? Is the problem in my system or Mail.app? Or is it simply my memory (the neuro part not the silicon)? Any help would be appreciated (unless the last possibility explains the problem; then I'd like to hear about it, but I wouldn't appreciate it).

Jim, I forgot to mention that I encounter the problem whether Mail is open or closed. Also, I trashed the preferences file and created a new account with no effect. It still works with images and doesn't work with text. Strange. Jim

I've just installed ios 7.0.6 on my iphone 4 and now lost voice on outgoing and incoming calls.It rings on incoming and I'm told rings on the recipient's 'phone, but then no vocal communication...its just dead. My simm is ok, i've checked it, I've done a full clean and restore of the 'phone. Still no calls.
I've not caused any physical or water damage to the 'phone. I would welcome any help/suggestions to get my calls back asap.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question.

No. You would make changes to the address book on your PC and then sync via iTunes.

I can send imessages. I can sometimes send texts. But I cannot ever send picture texts. and I am not receiving texts.

Yikes, this is no bueno let's get these messages back up and flowing. Are you able to send out regular text messages ok? Ensure your Picture Messages feature is turned on, follow these steps: Settings>Messages>MMS Messaging. Also ensure Send as SMS is turned on as well. If these features are turned on then try this: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings then retest. Keep us posted please.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You could simply set each device to only use a single telephone number (settings > messages > send & receive, but this isn't really an ideal solution since the other person can always change their settings and see your messages and send messages that appear as if they are from you. There is only one real solution and that's to have your own accounts.
