Why am I unable to buy Lion!?

It says it is not able to complete the purchase, that I need to confirm my purchase settings!

HI Benjamin ...
Click Account under Quick Links right side of the App Store window and sign in.
In the Account Information window click the Edit button to the right of Payment Type.
If you are using a credit or debit card to pay for Lion make sure the account number is correct as well as the expiration date and security code.
Fill in your billing address then click Done.
If you still have problems, read here >  iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records Keep in mind, the iTunes and Mac App Store are one in the same so the same rules apply.
Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available spare

  • Why should I update and buy Lion 10.7 when I already have 10.6.8?

I am currently running 10.6.8 Lion and  am wondering the advantages of updating to Lion 10.7? I have been reading online about the differences and difficulties in the update and have come to this point. Other than some increases in performance and to the GUI what truly are the advantages to the update. Please advise

Honestly, I have had no issues with Lion, but as I was a seed test member I was running it for sometime before the public release (although I never had a problem installing/updating as the beta progressed either).
But it is really a matter of choice, and if you are happy with 10.6 then there is nothing compelling you to upgrade.  If you want iCloud services in OS X, you have to upgrade, but if those are not important to you, then that is moot.
The interface is changing (will even more so in Mtn.Lion) to try to merge things more seemlessly with iOS - some people like that, some do not and for some I think it is just they do not like change, period.
Have you been to an Apple Store and really played around with Lion yet?  If not, I'd start there (or a Best Buy or somewhere with hands on display machines), see what you like, what you don't, what you might use that you cannot use now, so on.
There are also changes "under the hood" to really move fully into a 64-bit OS environment, but for many folks they will not be able to take noticeably advantage of that as their 3rd party software is not 64-bit yet, or they simply do not work with large enough files to see the benefit of 64-bit in any noticeably way (and don't even get me started about so-called 64-bit versions of things that still have idiotic legacy hard coded limits *cough* MS Excel *cough*).

  • Why I have to buy Lion Server and Lion for $83.98???

I want to upgrade my MAC OS X Server 10.6.8 to Lion Server......
But the App store insists I buy Lion as well... AND it has tried to charge me $83.98 for it.... (The Australian dollar is closely on parity with US dollar)..
So.. I already downloaded Lion.... and installed on my imac.... now I want to upgrade my server.. why do I have to buy lion again??? And why so expensive compared to the rest of the world??
    Gaz

For those that don't see the prompt to buy Lion + Lion Server again, there's no need to respond because you aren't having this issue and any obvious input, is just that.. obvious.
For those with this issue, Apple Care won't be able help you because it's a download issue and not an install issue and they suggested to contact the Mac App Store (iTunes Store) support for assistance.   Sadly it's e-mail only and probably will take some time.  You could try a clean install of SLS to upgrade to LS, but that still might not work. Other than attempting the pain of wasting a day to do a fresh install before the upgrade, I've tried logging out and back in with the Mac Store, created a second admin account and used the same AppleID and both still prompted me to Buy Lion+Lion server again.
For those that haven't clicked on the buy, I still hit an issue that preventing me from downloading the Lion Server after the 4GB Lion image downloaded.  You will probably have to request the refund if you attempted this, but guessing you still won't be able to install.   Also if you try to upgrade from SLS to just Lion, you will be prompted to buy Lion Server as well.   So in the end, it's up to the Mac App Store e-mail to resolve this or perhaps I can attempt to do the clean install.

  • HT5312 why can't I sign into my account and add a rescue email so I will be able to redo my security questions? I have been unable to buy anything from Itunes because it's asks me for security questions that I don't remember what I put

why can't I sign into my account and add a rescue email so I will be able to redo my security questions? I have been unable to buy anything from Itunes because it's asks me for security questions that I don't remember what I put in the first place

    1. Because if you could, someone who breaks into your account could do it as well.
    2. You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • Hi all. I am new to iPad and am trying to buy certain apps thru iTunes. I keep getting messages saying "this app is not yet available in the South African store"! which means i am unable to buy it. Why not and how can i get around this. Thanks

Hi all. I am new to iPad and am trying to buy / download certain apps thru iTunes and or App Store. I have found the apps i want yet I keep getting messages saying "this app is not yet available in the South African store"! which means i am unable to buy it. Why not and how can i get around this? Thanks

If you see a dialog telling you the app is not avaiable, then it's not available.
And keep in mind, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • Why do we have to buy mountain lion when we bought lion? Others who didn't purchase lion don't have to pay for it to move to mountain lion

why do we have to buy mountain lion when we bought lion? Others who didn't purchase lion don't have to pay for it to move to mountain lion.

As far as I know the only people not having to pay for Mountain Lion are the ones that have purchased a apple computer after the 4th of june or something. These people get a free upgrade. All others will have to pay for a copy of Mountian Lion.
Do you maybe have a source, which states that others don't have to pay for it, where people that have bought Lion do have to pay?
    With kind regards,
    Wes

If the computer shipped with Snow Leopard then you would have received an install DVD for iLife with the computer.

  • TS3354 Running Win7/64 on Mac Pro with Bootcamp, unable to buy iTunes HD movies

    Hi,
ran into issue with Mac Pro tower connected to dual Apple Cinema 23-inch (final generation) displays. Running Win7/64 SP1 under Bootcamp on second HD; running iTunes latest, and unable to buy HD movie from iTunes store even though have latest Bootcamp drivers and Mountain Lion, and monitors connected via Displayport, Apple HD, and video (ATI Radeon 5700 series).
Is this an issue with iTunes not being able to detect the video card or displays under bootcamp in Windows?
    (SIGH.)
Any suggestion would be helpful. I work during day on my Mac Pro, using Win7/64 most of the time; like to buy stuff on iTunes, like music, etc., and then be able to in living room download to also use with Macbook Pro and a Win7/64 HTPC.
Sorry to see such spotty support for iTunes on Windows 7 these days -- granted it's not their main product line, but still.

Just to clarify I am an advanced user going back to Mac SE/30, and so forth.
If you're not running Bootcamp on Windows, on Mac hardware, this discussion won't be of interest to y'all.
    robgw:
as you may or may not know, it doesn't look like the drivers that Apple installs for Windows with bootcamp provides the full control panel, so under the Windows device info all one sees is this:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Everything works, but there is no Radeon control panel, and no way for Windows to see if its HDCP compliant, even thugh it is.
Sadly Apple doesn't provide a proper "Radeon" control panel for Windows, and I've heard of massive problems installing the defacto ATI Windows driver package on Bootcamp, as it might conflict with Bootcamp's drivers. The ATI site doesn't even have a modern download for Bootcamp ... it's up to Apple to provide.
SO, I guess I was trying to see how one could enable the ability for Windows to "see" the display properties (Apple's drivers recognize it as a cinema display, but that's about it).
iTunes won't allow purchase of the HD version -- it will only allow purchase of the SD version.
Perhaps another person using this kind of set-up might weigh in if they have a chance. Not world ending, just one of the minor annoyances with not having the full dirver control panel on Windows, running on Mac Pro HD.

  • HT201303 Why am I unable to use the apple store card  I purchased to purchase a movie or anything else from the iTunes app store???

WHY AM I UNABLE TO USE THE APPLE STORE CARD I PURCHASED  FROM BEST BUY TO BUY A MOVIE OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM ITUNES OR THE APPLE STORE/

Apple store gift cards and iTunes gift cards are not interchangeble. They have to be used for the store in which they were purchased.
