sorry I can't help you with that, Marco...still haven't figured it out for myself - or had anyone suggest a possible solution. Hopefully, someone at Apple is reading these and will make changes to ML to solve this problem (and maybe the graphics dept. will be able to put back the login screen & screensavers to the way they were in SL )

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Sorry saker, but if you have not backed up your data anywhere, and you told the computer, in essence to clear the data and restore it with your iPod data, then you are pretty much out of luck....

Yes, they told me I should contact apple, but apple hasn't helped me either! The iHome has worked perfectly all along and it still is working it has power just will not connect anymore to play my music.

Here is what you should do turn the device on hold the home button and the power button until the device turn off keep holding and when the device reboots release the power button but hol the home button until it shows the iTunes logo then restore it

No offense intended, it's just that we see thousands of posts where people have different reasons for trying to use a stolen or lost device.

Boot times - Plugged in vs. battery Power

It's not a problem, I simply want to understand why there is a definitely noticeable different in boot times between being connected to a power supply vs. being under battery power.
There is a significant difference. I clocked from power button to login screen, 16 seconds with being plugged in, to over 45 seconds on battery. I tested it numerous times, under different conditions, cold boot, reboot, etc. It seems to make little to no difference.
This isn't a huge deal for me, I can just let my MBP sleep when going from class to class or home to class, etc.
I simply wanted to understand the huge difference and why.

Yeah, it was just something I was wondering about.
Thanks for the reply, it is the obvious answer. I know the core clocks down, but I couldn't attribute that kind of difference in boot times to just a slower clock imho.

Why is my ipad still using battery power when switched off & locked away with no one using it?

Why is my IPad still discharging battery when switched off and locked away - with no one using it? Charged it to 100% on holiday and locked in safe. 2 days later it was at 76%!

How is it "switched off"? Are you pressing the button on the top so the screen goes black? If so, that isn't shut off, but put to sleep. I will still be doing things in the background and using battery power.
To shut it fully off, press and hold the button on top, you will get a notification on the screen that says "Slide to power off". Slide the button and it will turn completly off.
If this is how you switched it off, let us know and we will see what else we can figure out.

From Battery power to running off the mains.

Hi guys
Just wondering - when I'm running my iBook off the battery and then decide to run it off the mains again, do I need to shutdown and then turn on the mains and then restart? Or can I just simply have it running off of the battery and then turn on the mains switch when I want to goto mains power?

You can just plug your iBook in whenever it needs to be charged. There's no need to restart/shutdown when switching from battery to power adapter.
