Why App store doesn't recognize my Aperture 3 installed from the disk version?
I have installed Aperture 3 from the DVD some months ago (bought 129 EUR). And the App Store does not recognize it (no popup "installed" but "Buy" for 62,99 EUR).
Could you tell me why?

Maybe it's simply because you have the disc version so it doesn't recognize it. I have heard that there are some differences between the app store version and the disc (I believe due to licensing, but i'm just going on what I remember)

Mac App Store Doesn't Recognize Apps
I have a Macbook Pro which is almost three years old. Applications like iLife and iWorks were installed on the computer long before there was the Mac Ap Store. These apps, and others on my computer, do not show up as Instaled in the App Store so I can't update them unless I use the old Software Update or the vendor's site. I don't want to purchase the apps again but is there any way to "register" these apps so the app store knows they are on my computer?

DavidI have iLife 11 that I purchased on disk that is installed, but the App store doesn't recognize any of the iLife apps as being installed.
Everytime I run GarageBand it states there is a new version, but then Software Update says everything is up to date once it is run.
I have GarageBand 6.0 (427.17) at the moment, and the newest right now is 6.0.5
I haven't been able to update it.
Any thoughts on this issue? -

It shows "You do not have any purchased apps available to download" Can I show apple the credit card receipts for apps purchased from them? How would I find any previous account login info?

any app I download from the app store doesn't open. after I finished downloading the app I tap it to open but it crashes as soon as i finish downloading it. yes, the downloading process works but any app I download won't launch. pls help

Install the v10.6.6 combo update available here. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.6. The combo includes fixes that were not included in the original update.

Restart your Mac and try the MAS again.
You can download apps directly from the MAS once you have it running.
Considering the TM backup took so long, make sure there's enough space on your Mac startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.*

My app store won't let me download none of the older versions of apps for my ipod touch 2g.
My app store won't let me download any of the older versions of an app, but in my sisters case she can and she has an ipod touch 2g just like me. She was able to download kik, twitter, instagram, and some more apps that told me I had to have ios 4.3.1 or higher to download. and theres only one app I want and its kik, can someone help me figure out whats wrong with my app store, it would be a great help.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)

You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
I am trying to access a numbers document in mycloud and it keeps saying I need a newer version. I purchased the upgraded app for my ipad and now I can't seem to upgrade my computer so that I can get access. I went to the app store but it won't let me download the newer version onto my computer? What is the point of putting things in the cloud if I can't access them?
JanNumbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers. -

Ok. I've upgraded to Lion. The app store STILL doesn't recognize software that's on the Mac, and this INCLUDES Apple apps. The only software that shows up as installed is Lion.

App store doesn't recognize already purchased apps
I had to rebuild my computer. After going to the App store, and after logging in it doesn't recognize I've already purchased a number of apps (including Mountain Lion, Pages, Keynote, etc.).
In the past, after logging in it would say "Install" on the price button. Now it says the price (eg. $19.99) and then says, "Buy App" if I click it.
I need to know how to download these various apps without having to repay.I had to rebuild my computer.
Try using Mountain Lion Recovery to reinstall OS X.
That will also reinstall the App Store for you.
If you have anti virus software installed, disable that before downloading apps from the App Store.
And try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. -
App Store doesn't recognize that I'm signed in to my account
I have apps on my MacBook Pro that were purchased under 2 different AppleID's. I updated apps for the 1st AppleID and then signed into the 2nd account to update the other app. However, the App Store gives me an error message and repeatedly tells me to sign into my (2nd) account in order to update. How do I get the App Store to recognize that I have signed into the other account?
I exited the App Store and restarted, but that didn't work.

App Store doesn't recognize my purchased Final Cut Pro app
In February, my logic board was replaced, and the App Store sees my laptop as a new computer, so it's no longer recognizing some (but not all) of my purchased apps. I purchased Final Cut Pro via the App Store in December. The installed version runs fine, but the App Store won't update it to the latest version (10.2). The "Buy" button in the App Store says "Install," but when I get an error message that reads "Final Cut is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates." But there isn't a Software Update command in the Apple Menu anymore -- just a link back to the App Store, which won't help me! How do I get the App Store to let me install the new version?
Should I delete any/all copies of the app and then download a fresh copy from the App Store?

My app store wont change back to sri lanka from the u.s store
Hi, I recently got my new ipod from sri lanka. I've been downloading apps and so on. One day i click on an app it says that this app is not available in sri lankan store would you like to switch us store [this is from the ipod not the pc] and i said yes. Now i cannot change back to sri lankan app store and it is stuck in the us store and cannot download any new apps. Please can someone tell me how to change back. I tried the way from the pc. settings>Itunes store>View my apple id> logged in> Change country/Region. its already on sri lanka, but from the ipod it says it is in the us store. I cannot change it since it says that no country is selected even though it is already selected in sri lanka and i cannot downloads app from the ipod, Please can someone teel me how to change it

Ok people after messing up three days with my jailbroken ipod touch cauze my itunes didn't recognize it i figured out that the problem is first windows recognized it as a imaging device o as a camera, i found in the device manager was listed mi apple ipod under portable devices and there was the problem it has to be listed under universal serial bus controllers named as a apple ipod so this is what i did but first make sure u have correctly installed itunes and the apple mobile device support:
1 open the device manager or windows button + r is run and then type devmgmt.msc
2 look for the portable devices and find the apple ipod or wherever that is listed on your pc.
3 once u find the apple ipod do a right click on it and click on uptade driver software
4 take the manualy opcion or browse on my computer and then look for this folder on your computer C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
there should be the driver that itunes recognize and your windows wont recognize your ipod as a camera again but i repeat u have to make sure u have installed the apple mobile device support u can get it by extracting the itunes+quicktime package using winrar. so click on update or next what ever on the update process and next time itunes will open your ipod for sincying thanks to forums ilounge.com -
I know, I should've looked at the app page a bit more carefully before purchasing the app (the app in this case is Fruit Ninja, but it applies to all multi-iOS compatible apps) but it would be nice if a confirmation message was sent before authorizing the purchase with your ID and password (i.e., "This is an iPhone app. Are you sure you want to purchase this?"). Since I didn't know I was purchasing an app for bother iOS device, a refund would also be nice.
If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:

I have an update for iPhoto in App store which won't download or clear from the App store
I have tried several times to update from iphoto 9.1.3 . The update in the App store is 9.4.3.
Every time I try I get 'cannot update as you already have this update. Although I don't.

If you have any external drives plugged, unplug them. Then, open App Store and check for updates again.
I recommend you to delete iPhoto from your Mac and reinstall it again, so go to the folder where you have iPhoto (normally, the Applications folder) and delete it. Then, if you purchased iPhoto from the App Store, open App Store > Purchases, and install iPhoto. The version you will have is 9.4.3.
If you purchased iPhoto on a DVD, insert the DVD and install iPhoto. Finally, open > Software Update, and install the latest version
