Why appears my new external 4TB HDD only with 1.8TB in the system?
I tryed to format my new Western Digital HDD of 4TB, but it apperas only as a HDD of 1.8 TB in the system. I did also try to split it in partitions: same problem.
I've got OSX 10.8.5 on a Mac Pro 5,1 (mid 2010). The HDD is connected with an external Sharkoon Quickdeck and USB2.
Didn't find a solution surfing the net... Is there anybody who is able to give me an advice?

Well, I just found out, that many external decks are only working up to 2 TB HDD - so does my Sharkoon Quickdeck. This may be the problem...

How do you get passwords to stay valid?? Why do videos from Facebook and mail only play in 1/2 the screen?? I have been forced to Apple by my boss. I'm in iPhone 5. I transfer photos to a Windows 7 PC, using the USB cable. Lately, the photos are appearing in Windows Explorer within monthly folders, with gibberish titles. The folder names will be 8 random letters and numeric characters. I tend to let photos build up, so there are about 2 years worth of these monthly folders… Between 20 and 25. This is a huge hassle… I'm unable to tell what months are in each folder, by the folder name.… Have to open each folder to see which month is in there. I want to be able to look at all the photos on the iPhone in one view, as I was able to in the past. How do I stop this foldering of photos, by months?? Thank you. BC
I have the same issue. I searched and finally got only one answer is -- Apple suggest customer using iMAC to transfer and backup photos instead of Windows. How great the solution is it!

You need to restore the pre-upgrade backup of the library file in the manner shown in Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

I have no sound in my computer, only with headphones, i tried the software update but it still doesn't work, and i have a red light on in my computer. How to resolve that ?
Plug and unlpug the headphone jack with some intention to get the mechanical switch to flip.

I bought a MacBook Pro I can not sign up for the updates, because I do not have credit card. Only own debit card, but the system does not accept. What can I do?
You do not need to "sign up" for downloading updates. Just run Software Update and let it access them directly thru the App Store.

I swapped hdd's with two diff os's and now I'm getting the question mark in the folder icon after replacing the two to their original MacBooks but they work while swapped I realized afterwards that I wanted to use the newer OS in my external enclosure and keep the older hdd in the macbook it was in from the start ive reset pram tried to boot to the menus or what have you by following the step in these forums but my macbook isn't even recognizing the original hdd that came in the macbook

Will it boot the disk when it is in an external enclosure but not when it is intsalled internaly? If so it may be the internal SATA cable that is bad (an inexpensive part). -
Brand new laserjet pro 400 only prints about 1" down the left side of the page
I just unboxed a brand new Laserjet Pro 400 for a teacher, and upon running a test print, the printer only prints about 1" of the text down the left side of the page. The text fades to white, and the entire remainder of the page is blank! I re-seated the toner cardtridges, ran the cleaning program, and am still getting the same results! Any suggestions? A scan of the page is attached. It came out this way after each solution that I tried!

My New External LCD is blurry with the Macbook but not my PC
So I recently bought a widescreen 19" LCD (1440 x 900 native). When I'm using my PC through the monitor's VGA connection, the image is nice and crisp. When I use my Macbook through the DVI port, the image is significantly blurry. Both are running at the monitor's native resolution.
Any ideas what might be going on here? It's usable but very annoying and disappointing.I believe the max resolution for macbook is 1280 x 800 (internal/built in), which is lower than external lcd native resolution. But here is said :
Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 1920 by 1200 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors
taken from the macbook specs table.
Do check the system preference of what resolution displayed on the external one, and change the resolution back and forth and see which is the best resolution for it.

"Only one EHP Level in the system"?
I am reading a blog called "SAP enhancement packages for SAP ERP".
At page 22, it says:
"An Application system can only consist of one EHP level (e.g. EHP3 or EHP4). Hence installed
EHP components have to be updated with every future EHP implementation."
I do not quite understand above statement.
1) how can a system have 2 EHP levels?
2) If our PROD system is too busy to have the downtime to be updated with the future EHP, what will happen?
Please share your opinion. Thanks!As of EHP3, you could still install some EHP components. On an ERP 6.00, you could just push SAP_APP to 6.03 and move on. Now if you want another component in your system with an EHP4 version, you can't have some components at EHP3 and some at EHP4. You would install EHP4 for the new component you desire updated and part of the work will be to also update SAP_APP to 6.04.
EHP4 is an UPGRADE process, with shadow instance & all the joy of an upgrade process. You can either run ressource minimized or downtime minimized. In resource minimized, the shadow instance runs on the same server as the main instance. Downtime minimized allow to run the shadow instance on a separate / new server. Anyway you go, you will always have a "Downtime Phase" when you bring back the updated components from the shadow instance toward the real production one.
As with any UPGRADE project, the benefits of installing EHP4 for your business has to weighted against the downtime cost.
Our tests so far on small systems (few data, few users, 120GB database) show ~3 days process from EHP3 to EHP4 (all components) with a downtime phase of about 22 hours using the "resource minimized" path, i.e. shadow & main instance on the same server (4 CPUs, 16GB RAM). Until you give a try at your Sandbox or DEV systems, you won't have realistic figures for your environment.

Delete data from DSO only with a part of the key
Hi experts,
I have a DSO with 9 key fields and i want to delete some entrys. Our source system only provides 2 fields of the key. My problem is, that the BI is not able to delete from DSO unless I have the full key.
Now I want to get the rest of the key fields from the active table of the DSO. Can sombody help me please with the ABAP Code? Or is there another possibility?

the thread pointed out by you is for passing deletion entries to the DSO / target using the deletion entries .. namely recordmode = D.
Are you looking at deleting data from the DSO as a one time activity or you want to handle the same using a start / end routine ...? and pass deletion entries to other data targets which get the data from this DSO ?

I got my iMac in July 2007, which I believe is mid-2007, I am currently running v.10.6.8, have 2 GB memory and over 100 GB of available space. This to me meets the system requirements, so why do I get the "cannot be installed on this computer" message when I try to upgrade to Maverick?

after a system restart, when I open Firefox, a new tab appears with My Yahoo displayed. I have my options set to restore session/tabs, with my home page listed as blank [not the best, i know]. I have not installed any new programs, other than Norton, to 2010 and have only done updates as required.
