Why are "2Go" Services so attracti

I have been thinking about these Napster/Rhapsody/Yahoo 2Go/Unlimited Music Download Services a bit, and I am wondering - why do you not want to own the music you pay for? Let us take Napster To Go as an example, and let us say - just for arguments sake - that you pay $5 a month for 5 years: this adds up to $900 ($80 a year). If I spent $900 on iTunes Music Store or any other store that offers albums for $9.99, I would in the end have 90 albums (and that IS a lot of music!) that I can keep listening to and you would have - that is right - no albums to listen to.
Of course, these services are very convenient and musical tastes do vary over the years, but do you not think you will feel sorta robbed? I know I would.

First off, paying $0 for an album of 28k DRM files is silly. If you want the whole album, you can usually find the CD for the same price (or less).
Purchasing the occasional single for 99 cents is OK I guess.
I am definitely going to be signing up for the Yahoo Unlimited. For $60, I can download all the decent quality (92kbps WMA) songs I want for an entire year. I don't care if I can't listen to these forever.
Paying $5/month IS NOT GOING TO STOP ME FROM BUYING CD'S! Only now, I'll know whether I really want it or not.
I think these subscription services are the perfect application for DRM music.

It seems to be a cosmetic bug in SL (and, according to a post by Tom Gewecke, also in Lion). So far, I've been unable to determine the cause. In my experience, it may go away after a few hours without doing anything. Other things you can try is simply to restart; if that doesn't solve it, go to System Preferences > Language & Text and make a change -- any change -- in the language panel and then restart.

Why are some channels offered on Select TV service not offered on Premium?

We get the Premium TV Service (we're in Maryland). The lower-priced Select service offers a number of channels that are not offered on Premium (but are offered on the higher priced plans). We're particulary interested in the BBC chanels, but there are about 8 other channels that are offered on the lower-priced service, but not on Premium. What is the justification for dropping channels when you pay for a higher priced service?

and why are some shows on hd but not listed in sd (the default guide). why do some shows list 2-3 episodes one day and the next offer only one?this is across board, every channel that is watched in my household at some point in time has this problem.when wanting to watch a missed show on vod.

it obviously doesn't, but then again some people or organisation only care about price when it comes to purchasing their laptops, and it is hard to justify making a special model for a selected few.
Sure everything can be done if there is a market for it, but Lenovo won't know how large the market is before hand, as such they are hedging a bet by not moving with the market (which Lenovo have done on many occasions). I guess the finanical return is not the worth the risk for Lenovo to keep the 4:3 or 16:10 screens.
But this debate has been going back and forth for a long time, so no point bringing it up again and again.

Why are there so many more choices on the USA iTunes Store? Surely having an iTunes account should let you access all itunes availability the world over? Also how do you request films/tv series to the UK itunes?

Also how do you request films/tv series to the UK itunes? There's tv series I'd like but they're incomplete like The Batman & Xena Warrior Princess. And films theta aren't available for download but you can purchase in a store like HMV? Apple isn't doing itself any favours by secluding countries by their store. They'd make billions if you could just select the iTunes Store you want to search & purchase from just by signing in! If anything what they're doing is putting themselves into a corner, other companies like Samsung & HTC are already on too of them for innovation & ease of use. The people they're attracting are predominantly existing Apple users not new customers. What do you guys think?

It's not Apple's choice, they can only sell a particular item where the content provider/rights-holder has granted them a license to sell them. Content is licensed by the rights-holders to Apple on a country-by-country basis, each country therefore has to have its own store, and you have to be in a country to use its store - they want control over where their content is available.
You can try requesting that an item be added to the UK store via this page, but unless the rights-holder agrees to then Apple won't be able to sell it here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

Why are all my movies and tv shows from my library now on my ipad with the icloud icon? I have turned off all icloud related services. I have never used it. On top of that, my ipad now gets stuck on step 5 of the sync - waiting for changes to be applied and never finishes.

Hi, go in Settings, under Videos turn off "Show all videos" this will remove the purchased videos to be displayed in the Video app. The same can be done with the music.
As for Step 5, connect you iPad and on the summary Tab, uncheck
"Sync only checked songs and videos". Then wait, it takes a while but this made it work for me after many restore attempts.

Why are some of the forums locked? Could it be because the number of complains for service (the lack of), scams by stores - employees, placating that happens just to make a sale or general MISINFORMATION and a total disregard for their customers would question some of Verizon's tactics?
Morally, ethically and legally questionable actions by employees with little to no accountability sounds about right?

Could be varied reasons. The thread is outdated, the question was answered, there are off topic attacks, there are personal attacks on forum members, there could be spam posts, or off topic posts, cross posting over and over and the list could go on.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.

When I mail photos (via GMail) from my iPhone they are received on my PC as .jpg files, even if sent at full resolution. Perhaps your e-mail service has imposed an attachment size limit, and in the process scales the attached picture down and alters the file extension?
What happens if you e-mail a photo from your iPhone and open the message from a PC instead of the Surface? What e-mail service are you using? (e.g. your ISP's service, or Yahoo, Gmail, iCloud, etc.) When you send the photo from your iPhone, are you selecting a reduced resolution?

in the right frame .

Why are certain sites suspended? some of the backdoors for game sites show "This Account has been Suspended" when you try to access them.

What does "This Account has been Suspended" mean and why are certain sites suspend?

It can't be a problem with my ISP or my IP address since it only happens with Firefox. When I try out the same listings with other browsers it doesn't happen. eBay said Firefox must be making it seem as though I am in France. Goodness knows how or why??

Why are the CAPTIONS displayed smack across everyone's face on the screen??? I need the captions to HEAR better but I still want to SEE the show. When the text is displayed across everyone's eyeballs it's very disruptive. And I want ONE BUTTON on my remote to turn captions on/off; from a user perspective it is unnecessary to go through the menu settings everytime. Take a stand and do something about improving CAPTIONS!!!

The CC text is on the bottom third of the screen. I don't understand the problem. *shrugs*
Actually when I first replied, I checked the CC on the channel I was on and it was in the 'face' position the OP complained about. Now checked here on recording of Sprint Cup qualifying and it's at the bottom. Looks like some are not in the bottom 1/3 of the screen.

Why won't Lenovo refund my money? Why are they ignoring me?

I ordered recovery media on the 30th of July and I never received them. I am pretty sure they wrote the address wrong. They took long amounts of time to reply to my messages about not recieving the media and I ended up installing Windows 7 myself and then all the necessary software and drivers. I made it clear to them in 2 messages that they were far too late and that I didn't want the recovery media anymore and I wanted a refund instead, but they ignored both messages completely and sent me a message saying that they were going to ship it free of charge. I don't want it. I made this very clear.
Also, I can't believe the nerve of them saying 'free'. No, I paid €37, and I didn't get what I want and will not get what I want, because I paid for it to be shipped in 3-5 days like the website says, not nearly a month later. Getting it nearly a month later is a completely different service that I never paid for. I have therefore not gotten and cannot get what I paid for so I want a refund. Why are they ignoring my messages? I sent yet another message yesterday and got no reply. That is 3 messages they have ignored now.

The download is huge, 1.6GB, so it will take a while to download and if it fails, clear your browser’s cache and try again, or try a different browser.
There is nothing on the page that will prevent you from downloading it multiple times. If you are getting an error it is likely your internet connection or some internet security software or something else blocking. Did you watch the download and did it completely successfully or did it just stop?

There are phone numbers for Adobe but usually it is an exercise in frustration talking to someone in India who has a script they will lead you through, not unlike what it says on the help page, just slower.
If you want to attach a screenshot you need to use the web version of the forums and copy/paste into the message, or use the camera icon at the top left.

well one problem I see is that you removed the "hsqldb-ds.xml" file, which contains the DefaultDS datasource. One of the JBoss services depends on this datasource. You can find the declaration for this MBean in deploy/uuid-key-generator.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml. Change the "Datasource JNDI name" to your MySQL datasource name.
However, I don't think this is the real problem you are having. It seems like the persistence unit is not being deployed properly, so somewhere in the log output there should be another exception that says why the persistence unit is failing. Most likely a typo in the XML.
