Why are all my calendars the same?

every calendar i make shows all my events, to dos, birthdays etc.
i am sure it is something i am doing wrong otherwise ical is useless, why do i need multiple calendars all showing the same info?
when i uncheck "show birthday calendar" it removes birthdays from all calendars not the one i am working in.
thanks and sorry if this is dealt with but i can't find it in my searches.
rachel

I am not sure if I understand your issue, so I will try to clarify.
You say that when you uncheck "show birthday calendar" it removes birthdays from all calendars. But the birthday calendar is its own calendar, and as such birthdays will only show in the birthday calendar not all calendars. Is that not the case?
If you select the weekly view for example, don't you see color coded events - assuming you have used different colors for each calendar you have - that "belong" to each calendar?
When creating a new event, are you not able to choose which calendar it will belong to?

I have an iMac, an iPhone, and a MacBook Pro.  My full iTunes library is on the iMac and iPhone, but only a handful of songs are on my MacBook.  They are all associated with the same Apple ID.  When I try to sync, I get a warning message stating that I will lose songs on my phone which aren't on the laptop.  How transfer my music from my phone to the laptop?

    Hey kbert73
I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

My iPhone, iPad and iPod are all associated with the same Apple ID.  How can I remove the iPod and associate it with a new Apple ID without affecting the data on the other devices (note: there is no data on the iPod I want to keep)?

Very simple.  Turn off Find my iDevice, then  Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

No. Unfortunately, you can't combine Apple IDs togetehr, even if you own them all.

I have a serious contacts redundancy problem.
First I have multiple email account formats,e.g., 2011 MacOutlook, 2008 Entourage, 2007 Window Outlook, iPhone Exchange and these are all connected to the same account. The problem is I had up to 15 contacts for the same person.
I deleted the Entourage contacts as that seemed to be the program that was causing the problems.  When I synced this morning, now all my contacts are gone from every where.
How can I restore to my last back?  If I restore, it will ask to restore to the back that was just made… which has no contacts?
Help would be greatly appreciated !!

Are all macbook trackpads the same size?

The 11-inch MacBook Air uses the smallest trackpad. The 13-inch MacBook Air and Pro use a bigger trackpad, and the size is increasing when the screen is bigger

  • HT204053 I have 5 apple devices (3 iPads and 1 iPhone 3 and 1 iPhone 4s). They are all registered to the same Apple ID but used by different people in my family. If one of us gets a new ID, does that mean we can't access purchases already made?

Help appreciated.... Bascially 2 of the devices (an IPad and the iPhone 3) are used by me and the others by my wife, son and daughter. They all sync to the same iTunes library so I am thinking that if the other 3 get their own apple IDs, they will not be able to access the existing library.
Please note that though a fan of apple stuff, I am utterely useless at using them so I am sorry if my question is naieve or ill informed!
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Stephen

You can all have independent AppleIDs for iCloud or iMessage etc, but share the same one for iTunes Store / AppStore purchases.

  • Why do all documents get the same time stamp?

All files show the same creation time, 19.21, even those created today before that time. I have a new PowerBook Pro 17" running 10.6.8.

Go to System Prefs > Language & Text > Formats.  In the Times section, click Customize.
Everything in the four lines at the top should be "elements" dragged from the lower section, not actual numbers.

  • Why are all-day calendar events not appearing in the Notification Center?

I've noticed that all-day Calendar events do not appear in the Notfication Center in iOS. This is a glaring omission and I'm not sure if it's related to a bug or is intentional but it should be fixed right away. Why in the world would you leave out an all-day event from the Notification Center? What if I had a wedding anniversary or some other important event to remember?

IOS / is no out for a couple of weeks and Apple seems to be reluctant to fix this problem. As a business device it becomes rediculous to be not able to see my calender entries anymore in the notification center. Is Apple now leaving the business arena and focusing on toys ?

  • Why are all contacts & calendar entries listed twice? Syncing Problems?

    Hello,
I am synching my iPhone 4S with iCloud (push) and also with cable connections.
All contacts are listed twice and all meetings are also listed twice!
Even when I delete the second contact manually it shows up again when I sync - crazy.
I have truned off Google Contacts sync and tried again. But it is still happening.
    What can I do?
    Best
    Monty

You either sync your contacts & calendars over the air with iCloud or by USB with your computer...not both at the same time. Doing both will create duplicates.

  • Are all these players the same thing n

I just recently bought a Zen Sleek photo and realized it's the exact same thing as my girlfriend's Zen Micro except better looking, more GB, pictures, and color... Whoopie... They have all the exact same features. There is NOTHING different about these. At least my Zen Xtra was unique... What's the Zen Touch like? Is it the same thing as these 2 or is totally different? I'm returning the Zen Stupid Photo and hopefully getting another, DIFFERENT, player. If the Touch is the same as these 2, I'm done with Creative. Pfft, Creative my ass...

    SouthEcko272 wrote:
No not the scroll pad, and maybe unique was the wrong word to use lol...
Well, with the Xtra, you could either choose a list, or graphical menu (Something about it made it less confusing for me). Also, what I liked most about it was that when you add music to the Selected music playlist, all the music goes to the bottom of the list, and doesn't erase the list if you accidentally hit Play (Hope that made sense). The EAX audio was cooler, cuz you could choose environments like Cathedral, Theater, etc. And maybe a couple more that I can't think of right now.
I see. Well, the Touch is pretty much the same as the Sleek in that regard.
None of the new players have EAX anymore, not sure why exactly.

  • Are all hard drives the same...

A naive qustion, but will any 2.5" IDE HD work in my powerbook. I believe my drive is on its last legs and need to replace it, but i'm in italy and the selection here is a little sparse. I may end up ordering online anyway and having it shipped here, but still....
Also, any recommendations? It needn't be to big, just a solid 60G, 5400 RPM, 8 MB buffer drive for an 800MHz Pb. Cheers.

They aren't all the same, but their sizes and connectors are standardized nowadays. See this post for more info. I have no idea what drives you have access to in Italy, but I'd be suprised if you couldn't find something that would serve.

  • Are all european stores the same?

I have never bothered myself with the differences of regions/countries in the PS world because i always used a NA account and used online vouchers to feed my wallet. Im in Portugal now and i went to buy a new 1TB console and it came with some euros for me to spend online and suddenly i dont know how this whole region differentiation works - specifically:1 - Since the eurozone uses a single currency, do all psn stores for these countries have the same content? (think Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal etc) 2 - Is the uk store a separate thing? 3 - What is the store with the most content and best deals besides the american one? 4 - If i create a new account for Portugal, will i be able to buy content from uk? (i suppose no because of the different currency, but it is still all europe so i dunno)

No, each country's store is different because each country has its own laws regarding content and because licensing material like soundtracks may have cost impact that increases with the number of countries in question.
If you set up a Portuguese account you wouldn't even be able to buy content that is on the Spanish store (if there were differences). PSN Wallet top-up vouchers are also country-specific I believe.
As Sony's Terms and Conditions of service would be broken by falsifying your address details, I won't condone it, but I understand a lot of people do. Just don't expect any support if things go wrong.

  • Are all 3Gs iPhones the same hardware?

I am going to buy some used phones to send to my family overseas. knowing them, i will need to provide instructions on activating and end up being tech support when they do not work out of the box.
I have owned the 3G for years, so I am somewhat familiar with them.
Knowing the above, how do I acquire 5 phones, get them into a consistent state and ensure they can be used with non-US carriers?
I would prefer to get them all into a base configuration, so one person's issues will be everyone's issues...IOW, I only help one of them... :()
lastly, are all 3Gs the same hardware?
    TIA

I also depends on which country the phones are going to be used in as well.
For example, in Australia, you can buy iPhones directly from Apple and they are not 'locked' to any network, as 4 carriers here support the phone.
Of course you have to pay full price for them, as they are not subsidised with a contract.
Warranty for iPhones is only valid in the country it was purchased too, so you have to be careful there too, if these phones are going half way around the world and something goes wrong, then fixing them could be quite expensive.
You are probably better off sending the money to a family member in the country of choice, and then purchasing them there.
