Why are all "New Window" freezing - doesn't let me scroll or click on any tabs on my Toolbars?

Dragging from the address bar to desktop... Why open a new window?

Running 64bit Windows 7 Pro with SP1 installed. Also running Internet Explorer 11.
When I drag the icon from the address bar of IE to my desktop to create a shortcut to that webpage, the current tab will close and a new browser window opens and loads the page. Why does this happen, and more importantly, how can I stop it?

I don't think it will be a show stopper...
another workaround is to store all of your links in your Favorites folder (or Favorites Bar folder)...
then the Address bar autocomplete makes it easy to retrieve the web address and navigate back to the website....
If you are using the desktop to store your downloads (zips/whatever), there is no need for this as the IE Download Manager will retain a listing of downloaded files (until you clear it)... you can also choose to save your downloads to the Desktop folder

Curious if there is a native window floating option on the horizon, and/or if there are any new 3rd party apps for this? It seems "afloat" is pretty old and possibly unsupported

Seems like, IIRC, CL never says anything about new drivers till AFTER their released. Be nice to know if something was in the pipe but highly unlikely they will say when cause if something happens and it gets delayed ppl will complain, even if delay is for a good reason. Why are my new music downloads going to icloud? I never set it up and dont use it. I just recently purchased a few songs and when I hooked up to the computer is says I have to download them AGAIN to my computer from icloud. Why did this happen? My husband and I share a computer and both have our own id. I couldnt figure out why iTunes was telling me to do this and found out my husbands id was in my iPod.

Not the same thing, don't confuse a backup of your phone with an iCloud data account. Backup is a separate function.

Perfect from day 1. Easy to set up but I made sure to glance through the DesigningAirPortExtreme802.11nNetworks.pdf that is available online so I had an idea of what to expect before I got started.
I don't have a hard drive hooked up but I did hook up a 512 MB Flash thumb drive to see how it would work. To the base station it is just another drive so it's the same thing as hooking up a regular hard drive. I tested it both formatted as an HFS drive and a FAT drive to see the difference in how it presented the drive.
I also tested the network connectivity in Windows XP using Bootcamp. I tried it both with the default drivers that get installed as part of Bootcamp and with the drivers from the D-Link DWA-645 which uses the same Atheros AR5008 chip set as my MacBook Pro.

Why does the new Itunes freeze when i click on my Ipod touch icon to manage my content? All buttones, video, tv, info, music, they all do nothing. i was only able to sync by bringing up the old sidebar. Is this a software glitch, or am i missing a step? I just spent two days reorganizing and labeling all my music for the new itunes, and had to restore my ipod so i could upload my new library. i know what is supposed to come up when you click on the music or info tabs, but nothing happens, only the eject button works. whats going on?

The screen is telling you to connect the iPod to your computer with iTunes with the USB connector. iTunes should open and give you instructions as to what to do. Whatyou need to need to do is to restore the iPod via iTunes.

In the last several versions of Firefox Pop-up Site that should be blocked are creating new windows. Why?

I have several computers. On each computer Firefox operates different. On the system I am writing these words. Every time I open a link Foxfire opens a new set of windows instead of a new tab. On my laptop Firefox opens a new tab when I want to open a new link. I think that this the way it should be. I have looked in the options to try and fix this but there is NO option to correct this. Both the computer are running the same version of Firefox. On the system I am writing this when new window pops up it creates two windows, one with a web page and one with tiles. I am running Windows 7 on all my systems not Windows 8. The laptop does not do this. If a unwanted page pops up; say a Web Cam site or Dating site that Pop-up Blocker use to block appears there is a race to close it because Firefox switches back to the page you were on before the new windows appeared. The Firefox on this system I am writing on also does not allow scrolling when something is being highlighted anymore.
I use Firefox because it allows me the configure it to use Applications on my computer to open, view, and save material from the Internet unlike the other browser that are available. Can someone fix these bugs?

MAC OS 10.6.8 Firefox 6.0.2 Any new window opening takes over a minute to happen. Once open all is fine. New tabs open immediately. Only on new windows is there this delay. This only happens on FF, not on Sarari, Chrome, Opera. - stevehorn@websentia.us

Opening FF for the first time and when any additional, new window is opened, it takes over 60 seconds for the window to appear. This happens after reboot and repair permissions in Disc Utilities on reboot (from installation disc). Once window appears, all works fine. New tabs appear instantly. New, added windows still take the 60+ seconds to appear even with current window remaining open. No other browsers or applications behave this way.

Not sure if this is exactly the same as the other reported problems.
But creating a new (via command N or via menu selection) window creates a long thin nearly zero width but full height window. Selecting the window via the window menu and zooming brings it up at full size.
I tried turning off all add-ons and things seemed to work but then stopped working again (sorry can't find a consistent set of symptoms here).

Why does a new window show up and then go to the background

I'm beginning to thing that firefox is teasing me. Many times I will open a new window and for a second the content I want to see will display, then the new window will just DISAPPEAR and my first window will be displayed. I have to un-bacikground the new window. It's both time-consuming and extremely aggravating.

No rhyme or reason....at least to me.
Sometimes they open same spot ...same size.
Other times different window, different size.

Same problem here. It looks like the new windows opens at the screen with the active menu bar.
I switched back to the old behavior from mountain lion by turning off the option for multiple spaces at the system preferences for mission control. Now i have only one menu bar and one dock.

Why are the open windows not listed in any kind of order?

It's bad enough there's no menu showing all the open tabs, but why does the dropdown menu for open Windows not be in ANY order whatsoever? It would certainly stop having to look up and down the list every time I want to go to a different window if they were in either alphabetical or chronological order.

The windows listed in the Window menu are in chronological order starting with the oldest window near the top and the newest window at the bottom.
The problem might be that you've opened a new tab in an old window. The windows are still listed in the same order but now they have the name of the newest tab.
In my screenshot I opened this question in a new tab in my oldest window.

It happens at any time; when starting the computer or hours later; the computer is one year old, it has not many programs installed, the starter config is rather clean, there is nothing eating the computer resources, the hard disk is defragmented and the only add-on I use is the ad-block plus

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Why are iTunes, View, Window, and Help menu items disabled?

I am frequently encountering an issue in iTunes 10.5 (141) where all the menu items in the iTunes, View, Window, and Help menus are disabled (greyed out). Why is this happening and can it be stopped?
I've seen this issue on different Mac OS X 10.7.2 machines. It seems to occur during playlist manipulation, where I'm making new playlists, adding items to them and editing them and the items. In the worst cases, I'm forced to quit and restart iTunes, although I have to quit by using the context menu option in the Dock as the Quit option is disabled in the application.
I'd appreciate any advice on workarounds for this that don't involve quitting and restarting iTunes.

I'm also having the same issue. It was happening with 10.5.1 and now still with 10.5.2. I'm using a 2008 iMac running 10.6.8. I do not use iTunes Match. This seems to happen for no apparent reason i/o/w, I can't determine a pattern as to when it happens, but it occurs about once in every 10 times that iTunes is open and it seems to happen after it's been open for a while, but again, no particular pattern.
Sometimes, all the menu items are grayed out, and other times, 70% of the menu items are grayed out. I can still use the other functionality in iTunes, but must must Quit from the dock (it quits gracefully and no Force Quit is necessary). Relaunching restores eveything to normal for about a week.
I work with technical diagnostic issues and can usually pinpoint a problem, isolate an issue, or determine a pattern, but this one has me stumped. I thought 10.5.2 might fix it, but no. Maybe 10.5.3?
