Why are App Tabs session-controlled?

Firefox claims that it is creating a more secure browser. Wishful thinking, but quite false. The fact that App Tabs are included in session control is a major design flaw in Firefox. Because cookies are stored with app tabs, you have actually made Firefox much ''less'' secure. Fortunately, I have one possible solution. Mozilla is currently reviewing the add-on called App Tab Initializer. I'd rather you integrate it directly into Firefox. You can add the procedure undertaken by clicking the "Grab Current App Tabs" button in the add-on's options as the first step in Firefox's standard shutdown procedure. Then "Clear all history" in Firefox's own options should be the default, and it should be the second step. When you open Firefox again, Firefox should launch App Tabs according to the URLs given in the first step above. Your favorite examples to use are Gmail and Facebook, so those sites should be the ones you use to test both the problem and the solution. Thanks!

I have no such extensions. I learned of this option on lifehacker, which lists it as an option in Firefox, not from an add-on.

I first used the option in Firefox 8 and it worked with app tabs. It doesn't anymore in 9.

Why are the tabs not saved when I restart Firefox? Very frustrating with the new version.

I pin a tab - or many tabs. Close Firefox, then open it the tabs are never saved. This was never the issue with the older versions of Firefox - been using it for years. I bought a new computer, loaded Firefox (19.0) and now I cannot "save" the tabs.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Why are Apps taking up space on my Mac in iTunes when I have iCloud?

The Apps in iTunes on my Mac take up a lot of disk space. Why are they there at all? I use iCloud to backup my iPhone and iPad. iTunes Store keeps my purchase history. So, why are the Apps taking up space on my computer?

Why the app tab does desappear from my Ipod touch 4?

Can someone tell me why is desappear the app tab from my Ipod touch 4? How can I do to see it again? I need it to download app on my Ipod. Thanks

You cannot delete the apps store icon.
It is either on another page, in a folder or you have restrictions set. Have a look.
If none of these is the case then reset your home screen layout.

Why are apps appearing in my music folder?

Just wondering if I can delete these ".IPA" (iOS App) files and .XML files that have appeared in my Music folder. I'm on a PC, so the files are assigned to iTunes, but I still don't know why they're here. I think they appeared after I synced my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) with the computer. There's also over 300 "ITC2" files which I have no clue about. All the app files are apps I have on my iPod, so that much makes sense, and some of the "ITC2" files are the same name as the 2 books I have on my iPod. All the others are just things like "4C9515F643471A36-D9A5A87B5F4A4EDF.ITC2". I just want to know if I can delete them really.

Here are typical layouts for the iTunes folders:
.ipa files are your apps and should end up in Mobile Applications. .itc2 files are cached artwork and should end up in the Album Artwork folders. These are normal parts of the iTunes library and should be left alone. I can't tell exactly what you did when you connected your device but it looks like you allowed iTunes to transfer your purchases into your library. This is a good thing. If your iPod was lost, stolen or damaged, you would have the files needed to rebuild your setup on a replacement device.
The iTunes folder is normally created inside your profile's Music folder, with the iTunes Media folder inside iTunes. If the files in question are appearing outside of the normal folder structure outlined above then perhaps you have the wrong setting for the media folder.

Why are my tabs disappearing?

I have Firefox 9.0.1 and have multiple tabs open. Sometimes when I click on one of the tabs, it disappears from that window and opens up in a new window. It happens with both regular tabs and those that are pinned as app tabs. I've been running this same configuration for quite a long time and made no additions or changes before this started. This is running on Windows 7 32bit SP1. Any advice? Thanks

Why can't I close App Tabs with STRG+W, like mentioned in "What are App Tabs?"

This way, I can't close the Browser with the shortcut.

You can have things the old way, and even if you don't choose to restore your tabs the next time Firefox starts you can still restore your through your history as John99 mentioned, should you change your mind after restarting Firefox.

Why are web browsers not controlled by restrictions?

When you turn off Safari in restrictions it apparently doesn't really matter since most apps have built in web browsers (really, as I understand it they are calling mobile safari) but why doesn't Apple just have that restricted when Safari the "app" is turned off? It makes it silly to even allow Safari to be turned off if it isn't a system wide event. I can't see this as a major problem to remedy since I assume most app developers are calling a specific API, so just have that API restricted so parental controls actually work.
For instance if you turn on restrictions but have Evernote installed (or Twitter, or just about any other app) there is usually a way to get to a web page via the about screens because they include mobile safari. I understand not off loading these things to Safari (well in Twitter's case, Evernote's was a bit sloppy) but again this should be controlled inside restrictions via turning off mobile Safari.

Why are Navigation Tabs visually different in IE than in Firefox? - Fix?

I have an Apex 3.2 app that is using Theme 15. I have chosen to use standard tabs for navigation between pages. In Firefox the tabs look very good. Lined up and spaced nicely with titles.
Problem.....when I go to IE and check out the application, the tabs are a mess. The class = t15CurrentTabCenter (which holds the tab title) is shown enlarged and the top of the cell or class (?) is above the top of the tab_close_c.gif that is on the side of it.
I wish I could insert a picture here to show you. Because I know I am not explaining this good.
But, if anyone has knowledge of what is going on and how I can fix the look in IE, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Have Audigy2 in Vista, why are there two volume control icons in system tr

Hi,
I'm running an Audigy2 on a Windows Vista system. There are two volume control icons in the system tray. One is the Soundblaster control, the other is the Windows control.
Are these two programs supposed to be running at the same time? Do they conflict with one another?

Why are Apps still not syncing between my iPhone 4S and iPad 4?

I have a new iPad 4 and I also have an iPhone 4S. I have enabled 'Automatic Downloads' on both, but for some reason, I can download Apps on one device and they're not showing up on the other. The only thing I can figure is that maybe some of the Apps downloaded on the iPad, for example, aren't compatible with the iPhone 4S and therefore they don't automatically download. Or, and I hope note, there's a glitch in the system :-(
I like to have all my stuff sync'd to the extent possible, but this automated App synchronization doesn't really seem to be happening as advertised.
And yes, I did go into iTunes on my PC and enable the automatic downloads there as well on the Preferences tab.
Some example Apps that didn't download from my iPad to my iPhone are USA Today, Men's Health Mag, UPS and Quick Scan barcode scanner.
Any help is much appreciated.

I may recall that you might have to charge your device in order for the automatic download to work. But I'm not 100% sure, it is worth trying out.

Why are the tabs so large?

I'm using Firefox 28.0 in Windows 7. In the previous version I was using, maybe 13-15 tabs showed in one area (I mean, if I was in one tab, 12-14 others were showing as well) (I hope you understand what I mean). However, now the tabs take up much larger space (I hope you know what I mean). So, I was wondering why they're so large & if there was a way to make the original size. Thanks.

You would have to use code in userChrome.css instead to keep the tabs at their width if you uninstall the extension.
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

Why are new tabs opening in 200% zoom?

I am using version 22.0. Firefox updated itself a week or so ago and ever since then, when Firefox opens up (with my saved tabs) or when I click to open new tabs, all websites open in 200% zoom. I have to hit Control - twice to get to the "normal" zoom view every single time.
Also, my left-hand side Bookmarks menu looks different too - they look like they are also zoomed in but I can't figure out how to zoom out of that area so that I can see all my bookmarks like I used to.
None of my other programs are having any kind of zoom issue so I know it's related only to Firefox. I have rebooted many times over the past week or two and that doesn't solve the issue.
I've also tried going to View / Zoom / Reset - but that takes me BACK to the 200% view.

Why are apps showing in music and playlists

They were bought by the same account and you haven't changed countries ? Some film studios don't allow re-downloading, but you should be able to copy/sync them between your computers/devices - film studios and other content providers occasionally remove their items from the store, so there is no guarantee that you will be able to redownload any item from the store.

Why are apps unable to determine my location?

A number of apps tell me they can not determine my location. I have location services turned on for these apps and an active wi fi connection. Why is this happening? How do I fix this problem?

I have tried many things to reset the iPad and the network. So far, the iPad still thinks it is in New York. What is strange is that my iPod touch recognizes the correct location (02420) and both devices are using the same home wi fi network. If this is a problem related to the node not being in the database, how do I add it. I do not have an iPhone.
