Why are buttons disabled all over MyVerizon?

This has been ongoing for years, but sick enough of it to join the forums.
For example, if I want to add Caller ID Blocking to my phone, I go to the Change Features for my device, and click 'Add' for that feature, then scroll down to click 'Next'...
Well, the 'Next' button doesn't do anything. Tried it with caches cleared, two browsers (FF and Chrome), both browser and machine restart, and the mobile version on my GS4 -- NONE of them work, and on mobile, it doesn't even exist to toggle on Caller ID Blocking. This problem exists ALL OVER the website, these unannounced, random deletes of functionality.
I've not been a fan of VZW's website for several years now, through living in three states -- it's hair-rippingly buggy. Now that I don't have unlimited data anymore (though a loyal customer since early 2000s), I hope this crap can at least be resolved. Feeling pretty jumpy right now.

    If these occur on all sites, you may have an unwanted extension (or more than one) that is injecting the ads into sites. Try this:
    Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
    Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Does that flush the ads?

    3 years ago I bought an IMac Desktop that I am using for a lot of things but the most important for dvd montage in Imovies and Idvd.
    Now today when I opened my computer I get as usual the white screen with the Apple symbol but there were all over the screen vertical lines with green pixels and after a while the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer using the power button or the restart button and when I do so each time the same is happening somebody can tell me what is happening and what caused this. This computer is my work and now I have no income anymore.
    On the Apple support site they are asking to enter the serial number and when I do so I get message it is wrong but it is the only one I have and I buy this computer in Cairo Egypt. I am living in Hurghada in Egypt for the moment. When I call the technical support of the shop where I buy it they are telling me that it is the hard disk or ram and that I probably lost everything on it and they are asking a big amount to repair.
    Can somebody advise me on this matter. Thanks in advance

    You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
    If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive. 
    You can also boot into Safe mode
    To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
          Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
    During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
    To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

  • Why are the websites all messed up?

    Hello. I don't know how to explain this. But a few months ago, all the websites I load on Firefox were fine. But its been a month that all the websites are like messed up. The thing is that if I want to login to Yahoo Mail, the login bar and the password bar is tiny. And even if I type anything, it won't show what I am typing. I don't know what is wrong. IE won't even open the whole website and Chrome is also messed up.

    If this is happening on Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer, then it seems like it might be an issue on your computer itself.
    However, you can try doing a few things. Read [[How to clear the cache]], also, [[Websites look wrong]]. These two websites may be of some assistance.
    You can also Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
    A few other basic trouble shooting things you can try is this:
    Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.
    Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].

    Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

    a very stupid solution would be... take the aac files (convert them, if they are not already), run the "make bookmarkable" script ( http://www.dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=makebookmarkable ), delete from the music list but keep files and drag them back in audioboos.
    there HAS to be a better way. but at least it works.

    I don't know, I think this is an error. I know that there was one part of the media APIs that was called very frequently (the stuff related to histograms) that we didn't use events, but this most certainly should have been events. Dang. If I could find it in email history there must be something on it, but looking at it here I was both surprised and shocked that this one slipped through (since I don't know under what circumstance it would have made sense to use a Runnable here). In fact at first I thought maybe you were looking at some old code (before I knew it was you who posted).
    OK, suppose we all agree this was an error and we need to fix this. What to do? We can deprecate all these methods, but the new methods we'd want to supply would then have the wrong names. We could introduce a proper Event subclass for this and also a special EventHandler which also implements Runnable, just so it can be reused here. We'd then deprecate the methods and just change the hierarchy when we JSR the thing?
    I'm not sure how to recover, any other ideas?

  • Why are 'buttons' ragged edged in DVD menu when burned?

    Every time I have to use DVD SP I want to commit illegal acts of rage.
    Very simple SD DVD. Made a background graphic (720x480 anamorphic). The title is embedded in the graphic. I want to add a simple 'play movie' text and button.
    I try a template, keep one of the buttons with text, trash the background, add my own graphic. Resultant text/button is really ugly low rez in both simulation mode and on the final output (ragged around the edges). I create a straight text 'play movie' then add an arrow button. The straight text is okay. The arrow button is ragged around the edges. Very unsightly.
    Is there somewhere in preferences I can set the quality of the menu? I am constantly driven to annoyance bordering on terminal rage every time I try to make a menu with DVD SP. I can never get anything that approximates the same quality as the m2v file of the movie itself. The menu seems to always be of a lower resolution.

    1. I'm just taking a 'shape' from the Apple default or template collection of buttons.
    2. I've also tried using a full template, say 'Brush Cover' or 'Brush Template'. But the 'text buttons' from these templates are also ragged; the edges of the text are not clean but are ragged with a tiny spill of other color (like an intermittent border around the text).

    It is clear, really clear that the changes that have been made are the way it is.
    I'm not sure if you are referring to the new statement made about how things will be or if you are referring to the forums changeover. I suppose either way, you are correct. But then, as I see it, so much of life and your life experience is determined not by what happens, but by how you decide to react to it. That's my philosophy. I always have a choice in how I elect to react to any given situation. I sometimes can't change the situation, but I can choose to allow it to ruin my day or just become something that happened and move on. Then again, that's just me. I don't expect everyone to be like me. What a boring world that would be if we were all the same!

    Ever since I updated Mozilla, any of the webpages in various tabs I have open will close during the night. Mozilla resets it self around 3am. It even woke me up one night. How do I turn this off?? I am having to save tons of webpages every night before bed and have lost valuable information due to this problem. I have changed my update settings in Mozilla on my computer, but the tabs are still being reset/closed over night.

    I am not sure what is happening. Firefox should stay open until you close it, and normally gives options to reopen with the previous tabs.
    Have you got some sort of cleanup utility that runs automatically, or is it just Windows shutting down, or a laptop going into a power saving mode.

    Your original thought is correct - it's not a virus, and seeking an "anti-virus" solution will not help. It will, however, lead you down a well-worn path to misery.
    From what you describe, you may have inadvertently installed adware. Eradicating it is simple and you don't have to download or install anything to fix it. For an explanation or how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for one possible solution read How to install adware.

  • Why is FireFox disabling all video downloaders?

    I cannot get ANY video down-loader to work in Firefox now for several months. Every time I tell a particular VDL to load in the status bar or up top on the Nav bar or in the tools it won't load there and I cannot get any videos to DL!

    That's just not he case with me. The videos are on the main page where I try and DL them from. The main problem is that firefox is refusing to show the icon for any DLer that I install. It will not let any of them show up. I have tried 6 DLs just tonight. My favorite being Ant Video Down Loader. They just won't work.
