Why are emails making copies after moving to subfolder?

Hi guys - I've always been able to solve issues on my own reading through all of your posts but this one has me thrown for a loop. I installed Mavericks yesterday and after doing so, changed my two Gmail-based email accounts from Exchange to Gmail (IMAP). After doing so, everything seemed fine until I received a new email and as I always do, would move it to a subfolder I had created on Mail (as well as in Gmail). In the past, I would drag it to the subfolder from the Inbox and that was that. But now, I'll drag the email to the subfolder, it disappears from my Inbox but a minute later, reappears as well as a copy in the subfolder I moved it to.
I tried to revert to the Exchange based email to see if that would fix it, but to no avail. I have noticed if I delete the email, it will go to the Trash (disappearing from the Inbox), then dragging it from the Trash into the subfolder and it works perfectly. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks for any advice...

You can recover them from the backup you have on Time Machine.

Why are my folders empty after moving from desktop to documents?

I copied all of my files and folders from the desktop to "documents". They transferred ok and then I deleted them from the desktop. The next day, all of the newly moved folders were there in "documents" but they were all empty.
How can I find and/or recover them?

Emails not loading after moving from one Inbox to another

I was having problems with one of my Mail accounts recently (it would randomly not pull in new emails, go offline, not connect to the SMTP server etc.) and on advice create a new one. When this was up and running, I planned on moving the Inbox and Sent Items from the dusfunctional Mail account over to the new account's Inbox and Sent Items folders.
After dragging the items from the old to the new folders, I deleted the old Mail account. Before deleting the old account, I checked to make sure that the old emails were listing correctly in the new folders which they did, showing the sender's name and subject line. I however neglected to notice that the Preview text was not showing on some of the messages although it was showing on others. I also did not click on any of the messages to see if they would actually open. I just saw them listed and thought the transfer job was done.
After deleting the old Mail folder, I am now left with all of the old emails listed in my new Inbox and Sent Items folders, but when I try to open them it just says "Loading" and nothing else happens. I assume that message contents had not yet fully moved over into the new location by the time I deleted the old Mail folder....
Does anybody know if there is any way in which I might still retrieve the fiull content of the old emails? Does deleting the Mail account also delete all of its emails from my hard drive? Or are they still sitting somewhere?

Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
+Note: there is no importing involved+
The thumbs appear, but the images are added 2 or 3 times each and the events are all messed up.
This happens when you import one Library to another, which you've done by drag and drop:
Creating a black library and over writing the new with the old.
Your problem is arising because of the Network Share. iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, saving edits and sharing the photos.

Why are my b-roll clips moving around ??

I'm really confused and frustrated by this:
A) I have a primary storyline made by around 20 recordings.
B) I also have 4 b-roll clips, attached to the primary timeline where needed.
After timing/positioning all 4 b-roll clips so they were exactly where they should be, to my huge suprice, I realized that they had all moved slightly.
Not much, but still too much - out of sync.
I put them back and once again it happened.
I've been trying to figure out why this happens and I'm really frustrated about it.
Can someone please tell me WHY the clips move around?
I haven't been able to figure out if it's because I edit the primary timeline, if it's because of a bug or anything else.

When you say they move around, are you saying the connection point itself has moved? Or what you expect to be synced somewhere along the timeline no longer is synced?
If it is the latter, you might be doing transitions using 'Full Overlap', which will change the overall duration of your timeline; shorten the primary storyline and then possibly make your b-roll appear out of sync. To prevent this, go to preferences and in the Editing section, set transitions to use 'Available Media' which is what you would normally expect if you are used to using FCP 7.
If it is the former, that's a bit trickier, and could be a bug. A possible work-around is to move your b-roll and primary storyline it is synced to into a compound clip. That should keep everything in the compound clip synced without moving the connection point.

Why are emails downloaded with the subject and from address different from what is actually in the email?

The subject and from address listed in the message pane are totally different from what is in the actual email, viewed either in the preview pane or when the email is opened. The emails are correct when viewed online. For example:
Email subject A from Sender A - email A

Email subject C from Sender C - email C
After downloading to Thunderbird:
Email subject A from Sender A - email A
Email subject B from Sender B - email B
Email subject C from Sender C - email A *** Subject and Sender for C but is actually email A
This started happening within the past month and appears to be random. Sometimes everything is correct. But more often there are a few that exhibit the above behavior. I have multiple email address downloading from the same domain but this problem seems to occur ostly with my main email account.

Try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder.

Why are emails sending twice?

I just found out that some recipients of my emails from my icloud account are receiving them twice. Why would that be and is there a fix for that?

I wanted to update this in case others have a similar issue and think it might be a problem with their mail account. I have since done a bit of follow up with others who have recently recevied some emails from me and found they aren't getting duplicates. This is not a mail/icloud account problem but rather an issue of forwarding preferences.

Why are my PDF copies so dirty?

I recently updated from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 8.1 (via a download from Microsoft). After reinstalling all of my software, I immediately noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in the quality of copies I was getting from my Adobe software. Originally, I thought it was an issue with my Neat Scanner software, but after printing my PDF from a different computer, I realized the scanner was not the problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of my Adobe software more than once, but nothing is working. If I open the PDF with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, I can use clean up the PDF some by using the "Optimize Scanned PDF" option, but it still doesn't come out a clear as it did before I updated to Windows 8.1.
I'm so frustrated! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Most printing issues are solved by resetting the Printing preferences. When you print from Firefox and you click on the down arrow, do you see Defualt and Firefox? Please make changes to the preferences here and preview the document.

Problem solved.
Go into Mail/Acounts and delete you iCloud account.
Now add a new account and type in your details for MobileMe/iCloud.
It should now work. O noticed the default server name is different.

Why are emails I deleted from another computer still showing up in my iPad inboxes.

This is just plain annoying. Every time I pick up my iPad, I have to delete dozens of emails I already deleted from my mailboxes (I have multiple accounts ... yahoo gmail hotmail etc.) I looked for a setting that would fix this, but nothing I'm finding seems to resolve this particular issue. How can I sync my iPad email accounts so they are current, and don't require me to delete messages I already deleted from my phone or work laptop or home desktop?

What you're describing occurs when your email provider uses POP rather than IMAP as your email protocol. Are you familiar with the difference? Most webmail providers use IMAP, which is set up for syncing across multiple devices, just the way you want. It sounds as if one or more of your providers is still using POP, the older standard.
I personally like POP, since it lets me choose whether to deal with emails on my iPad or defer them until I'm next on my Mac, but it's a personal preference. Switch to IMAP-only email, and you should be all set.

Why are emails missing in the to: line?

In the iOS mail app I have noticed that some mass emails are missing addressees are missing in the to: line. They are not in the cc: or bcc: line either. However I know they are there when I view the email online or on my computer. This is happening with multiple accounts too. Any suggestions?

iOS apps don't run on Macs and Mac apps don't run on Macs. If a developer has developed an app for both operating systems, they are sold separately in their respective app store.

Why are emails in public folders being marked as read when viewed in the viewing pane when I have disabled this in settings

I am using office 2010 on a windows 7 PC. In outlook I have changed the settings for the reading pane so that emails are not marked as read unless I actually open them. This is working for emails in my inbox and outbox but not for emails in public
folders. Emails in public folders are marked as read as soon as I click on them. Do public folders have a different setting for marking email as read in the reading pane?
It is important for me that emails in the public folders are not marked as read when i click on them as I need to read through hundreds of project emails in these folders and need to be able to distinguish between emails I have read and actioned
and emails I have just clicked on while searching for an email I need. This folder serves as an archive for my emails so i cant delete them once I have read them. I also don't have permission to label them or create tasks from them.

I tested in my lab, it worked for public folders. My Outlook version is Outlook 2013.
Please open Outlook in safe mode to check result.

Why are some clips missing after migrating to my new Mac?

My old Macbook Pro died so I got a new one and have migrated my data to the new one from a Time Machine backup. However, after doing this iMovie is telling me a lot of clips are missing. Many of them are still in tact, but in a lot of cases I see a message like: Missing File "clip-2012-09-13 07;52;06 (id)" is missing. Try reimporting the original source media. I'm using iMovie 10.0.6 and Yosemite (on both the old and new Mac).
Can anybody tell me how I can fix this?

If it matters, I have a Canon camcorder and imported the clips using a firewire cable. The external drive is connected via a second firewire cord to the other firewire port.

Why are my photos printed after work in photoshop coming our with faded color?

I am on a Mac with Maverick, using Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5. I am doing a portrait of 24 people and need to combine several photos to get an appealing final product. I move my photos from Lightroom and in Photoshop using mask layers have been combining the pictures. When I transfer them out as a Jpeg, and send them to a commercial printer they come out with a faded color look. I am at my whits end trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Does anyone know what the solution is to this frustrating problem?

So gator, I am using a calibrator on my monitor and both printers Costco and Mpixpro are giving me the same results. If I dont do more than two layers in my work, I get fantastic results that I am totally pleased with. It is only when I involve multiple pictures and multiple layers. Are you saying to be in ProPhotoRGB unitl I create it into a Jpeg and then change it to a sRBG, for export to the printer. Do my settings look correct to you in LR and PS? Because, the more I here from the Forum, the more I think it is a setting deaper than my knowlege goes. Help please! I am attaching an example of my finished product in LR and it looks the Same in Photoshop as you can see. So I am including a view in my LR of the screen shot, a view in PS w the layers after the layers have been flattened, then a shot of saving it (But I have been saving it in "standard" not "optimized as in this picture) but you notice it is saying it is saving it as a ProPhotoRGB, and the last shot is the screenshot of it as a Jpeg in PS. Also I am including Info shots on the screen of the PS file and the Jpeg in hopes someone will see my problem and know the solution. When I do info checks, they show sRBG about 80% and ProPhotoRBG about 20% even though I have used the same steps? I have tried to capture a bunch of my work in screen shots that you might see the issue. Thanks so much for your time and help!
