It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is a compatibility update available.

Thank you.That's probably because the Mac people are opening or viewing the PDFs within the Mac's "Mail" program or with the "Preview" program and not with Acrobat.
Since the Windows people aren't using these programs and most likely just Acrobat or Adobe Reader, the layers are kept hidden.
I'm afraid the only way to truly keep those layers hidden is to delete them before saving your file as a PDF. (Of course, do a "Save As" and keep your original .ai file intact. -
Why are bookmarks pinned from Firefox android less attractive than ones pinned from stock browser
I want to pin the BBC weather mobile site to my home screen for quick access.

If I do this from within Firefox then I get an unattractive, generic bookmark symbol on the home screen. It works but doesn't look nice.
If I do the same thing from the stock browser the generic bookmark symbol doesn't appear. The symbol is a BBC logo pulled from the website.

Why are newer versions of Firefox having problems with UTF-16le (Windows default unicode set)
I have a website that has multiple languages on it, and so I've been using UTF-16le for it. Everything was working well on multiple browsers until the last few months, when only Firefox stopped displaying it properly. I can force the page into UTF-16le, but then some of my graphical links no longer work and I cannot navigate through the pages unless I force every single page to UTF-16le EVERY SINGLE TIME. This problem is not unique to my computer, either, as this has happened with every computer I have tried in the last few months.
As answered before a few weeks back [[/questions/770955 *]]: the server sends the pages as UTF-8 and that is what Firefox uses to display the pages. You need to reconfigure the server and make them send the pages with the correct content type (UTF-16) or with no content type at all if you want Firefox to use the content type (BOM) in the file.

Self-explanatory. I am positive that the GIF I am viewing is faster than what it's supposed to be. I viewed the same animated GIF in another browser and it plays fine. It just plays slower in Firefox 11. I downgraded to Firefox 10 and the animated GIFs were fine again. I upgraded back to 11 and yet again the animated GIFs slowed down. This happens for all of my animated GIFs.
I like viewing my animated GIFs, and since I don't have any problems yet with Firefox 10, I'll be sticking with it for a while...Yes I have exactly the same problem, and it has NOT been solved yet in Firefox 14. Please Mozilla, what is the use releasing more and more "major upgrades", Firefox 11, then 12, then 13, then 14 (one per month !) if you don't even care to fix the big problems ? That is just marketing crap, nothing more. You guys used to do amazing job, but the new policy is just unbearable, no offense meant : you need to react !

Sounds like you picked up some Malware.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

Why are there databases for two websites in my appdata roaming firefox default profile folder?

Both of these website databases have 64 KB and are io_temp.sqlite files. I want to know how they were created and what information is being stored there. I know my boyfriend goes on the bovada site alot but want to know if he has personal login info stored for both of these sites. I know they aren't cookies because I saw the list of cookies and deleted them and these files are still there. I really want to know if the only way the websites could be in the folder is because he intentionally saved info stored on those sites and if not, then why are they part of his roaming profile?hello, i could find no documentation whatsoever on what the ''databases'' folder within the profile or a ''io_temp.sqlite''-file would do in the context of firefox (maybe this was an early version of ''dom storage'' or ''indexeddb'').

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

* You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
* "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above) -

Why are cookies not deleted when I close Firefox?

My problem is that I set Tools / Options / Privacy / History to "Use custom settings for history", and then under cookies I set Keep until: to "I close Firefox".
Yet, when I close my browser and restart none of the cookies are deleted. If I save my tabs, I stay logged in on the websites that are open on the saved tabs. But even if I close the website, and then quit. And then reopen the website after launching Firefox again, I am still logged in. Whereas Firefox is set not to remember any of my usernames or passwords, so the only way this can happen is via cookies. Therefore, the cookies are not deleted. But I can also see it in the list of cookies: it's full of old stuff.
So why are cookies not deleted despite this setting?

I turned this setting on a long time ago. Basically, it's one of the first things I do after installing my OS and Firefox. So there shouldn't be so many old cookies there.
But anyways, just now I deleted all the cookies manually via Tools / Options / Privacy / Show Cookies / Remove All Cookies to be sure that all the old stuff is wiped out. And yet it still doesn't work.
I logged in to my Gmail account (the Remember Me box ain't checked), closed the tab containing my Gmail account and then closed Firefox. After that I verified in the Task Manager that firefox.exe is indeed not running anymore. So Firefox definitely shut down properly. Then, I restarted Firefox and opened a tab, entered gmail.com, and I was still logged in, therefore the cookies were not deleted.
I have the 10.1.101.000 version of ZoneAlarm, which as it turns out after googling it is indeed not the latest version (it was released in March 2012). The ZoneAlarm Firefox add-on that automatically comes with the firewall is disabled in Firefox. -
Reference Assemblies Dialog in VS2013 - why are hidden COM type libraries included?
Why are COM type libraries that have the hidden attribute displayed in Visual Studio when you add a COM type reference to a .Net project? These hidden type libraries are not displayed in VBA, and the hidden attribute is supposed to prevent their display
in UI tools. Is this dialog ignoring that flag and if so why? I've created several type libraries that I do not wish to have displayed in this dialog. Is there another way to accomplish this?
As an example, look at the Accessibility type library. The flags for the type library include LIBFLAG_FHIDDEN (4), yet it is still displayed.

I think I covered it. I want a stable browser. I work on computers for a living and Firefox has been the proven browser for a very long time and FFV3 was the best browser on the planet. Why fix something that isn't broken. I don't know what other browser will fulfill my needs like firefox did. Why are you guys screwing around with the best browser on the planet? Get it together guys.
You could take a look at this iTunes Version History on Wikipedia if you want a feel for what goes on in each update and how frequent they are. The last few major updates have been two years apart. Most of the point updates have little impact on the way the user interacts with the software. You don't have to upgrade with each update unless you have bought or upgraded a device that now requires a newer minimum version to work with. E.g. iOS 8 requires iTunes 11.4 or later.
There are some major layout changes in iTunes 12, but by and large any task that you could do in 11 can be done in 12. For example the new Get Info dialog lacks right-click context menus (at least for now) but it still accepts most standard keyboard shortcuts and drag & drop actions. If you're used to doing everything via a context menu it is going to be confusing to start with. A workaround is to hold down shift as you right-click > get info on a track selection to get the old style dialog.
Regarding the inability to delete playlists from the device I suspect you were working in the wrong context, i.e. looking at the playlists on the device in say the Music > Playlists sidebar for a device that is synced to the library. You should select the device first from the row of source icons, then Settings > Music from the sidebar, then deselect the playlist in question from the list of playlists scheduled to sync to the device, and sync.

I've just started using the App Tabs. I think this feature could be handy but why are the sites not updated when I start Firefox. Now I have to manually update the site which is somewhat of a downer. Does any of you know where I'm going wrong?
To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step. -
Why are some websites that are important to many people, such as the FAFSA (federal financial aid for students) website or the Bank of New York Mellon website, not permitting access to computers running Firefox versions newer than 3.6 when Mozilla is claiming that 5.0 is more stable and secure?

Apps for the Mac and apps for the iPad are different and they can't be installed on the other one. Also, the iPad apps you purchased are on the App Store, and the Mac apps you purchase are on the Mac App Store, so you can't get your iPad apps on the Mac App Store.
In your case, you have to buy Numbers and Pages for Mac on the Mac App Store, because OS X and iOS are different operating systems
