Why are linked documents randomly out of sync with source docs?

Regarding RoboHelp’s Link to Word feature…
I have a RH 9 HTML project on my local drive with several hundred help topics that are “linked as references” from Word documents on a network drive. All was well until recently… several of the linked help topics are showing as “out of sync” even though the source documents have not be changed or moved. The out of sync topics all seem to be randomly picked, and when I update one topic to get things back in sync, another topic appears out of sync. It is not project specific, because I created a new project and created links to the same Word documents and the out of sync issue happened again. I tried removing the cpd file and opening up the project so that a new cpd file is generated, but the problem persists.
Any thoughts on why this is happening? Is it some sort of connection issue?

Hi, I understand about the mismatch…the problem is there shouldn’t be any mismatches, because the source documents didn’t change at all, and no updates were made to the html help topics in RoboHelp. The mismatches appear for no reason that I am aware of. They are very random and I can “fix” the mismatches by performing an “update” for a few linked topics, but then a few more mismatches randomly appear.
I don’t use a Master Page…can you think of anything else I should look into?

Why is my audio is out of sync with my video on hd capture from sony camera

I have a Sony HVR Z series HD camera from sony. I will capture a tape and it will be out of sync. I will then recapture and it may be in sync or not, this is really frustrating especially for music videos and weddings, actually a nightmare. I'm not quite sure as to the reason as it happens in Adobe Premiere cs3 and cs4. I have updated everything. Do you thing I need a 10000 RPM os system drive. Any help would be appreciated.

I have 2 Sony HDR FX1 and 1 Sony HVR Z1U and it works great in both CS3 & CS4 so something is wrong with your setup or camera.
I only have a 7200 SATA drive for capture.
I dont know if a bad cable would cause this.
Harm has a couple other ways to capture that he says it keeps the audio in sync better but I have yet tried it but im sure from what I have read here that it works good.

On Bills PPBM4 test you can see that I scored second to LAST on speed so even my system can capture fine.

Any ideas why my address book is out of sync with iCloud

I migrated my mobile me to icloud a few days ago. I started with the website, verified that my iOS versions were correct on my iPhone and iPad. Then I turned the service on for my mac, iphone and ipad. The only choice I had was to merge my contacts with icloud, so I accepte it. I have 5,815 contacts. My address book backup is 367MB. Ever since I turned this on, they have been out of sync. iCloud shows 2,355 contacts and my iphone is not update. Also, it took "my card" and seemed to combine it with another business entry I had.
Bottom line, sync is not working and my Mac goes to 100% CPU ever 8 minutes. My system drops to a crawl and I have to wait for it to finish. iCal, Mail and Address book are consuming all the CPU as it seems to be trying to sync. But nothing ever works.
This is very similar to what happened when I turned on MobileMe sync. It completely screwed up my address book and caused a $1200 phone bill while I was traveling in Europe because it would erase my entire address book and try to sync it over and over again.
I just turned off the iclould sync for address book my mac so I could work on my laptop without the CPU going to 100%.
Any ideas?

Why is my new macbook out of sync with airport?

Why is my video exporting out of sync with the audio?

Every time I export it (and it takes some 2 hours just to export a draft version) the video is sped up, but the audio isn't, so that the video is out of sync and at the end there's just black space with the end of the audio.
Both the video footage and the composition have the same frame rate (24p). I am exporting with Render Settings set to DV settings and output module set to Quicktime DV NTSC 48kHz
When I edit it I've been timing it to the seconds and frames because it's such a large file that I can barely RAM preview 5 seconds of it, and so it's especially frustrating that it's completely off when it exports.
Has this ever happened to anyone here?

The footage I'm using is in .mov format, although to be honest I'm not sure about the codec (I imported it straight to After Effects from my Canon 7D's memory card? I think it's H.264)
I also have some PNG sequences.
I used the AE Render Queue.

Why are my contacts on ipad not syncing with google contacts?

Thanks Meg, this works, at least in part. Now the Contacts app populated, but only with 99 contacts, hardly all of them. Do you know how to get all my Google contacts to sync?
Also, should I delete the Gmail account I had previously set up on the iPad now that I have set up as an Exchange account?

Why are the aps grayed out when syncing my iPhone?

When trying to sync my wife's iphone with my iMac, the aps on her iphone are grayed out and the phone will not sync,

Conditional build tags get out of sync with source control

Hi all,
I work on a team with two other people and we use RH 7 and
Microsoft Visual Source Safe. We've been having a problem with our
conditional build tags where one person will add, rename, or delete
a tag, and although the author checks the tags back in right away,
the system isn't "getting" the updated tag file when the other
authors go into the help project. The only way we've been able to
fix this is to have everyone delete their CPD files every time tags
are added, renamed, or deleted, but this seems wacky, and I don't
see any other messages about this problem in the forum. Are we
doing something wrong? We've been having problems (errors) related
to XPJ files being checked out by the first person to enter the
project (posted in another message). Might this be the cause of our
tag problem, too?

HELP! Imported audio files now randomly out of sync!

I cut a short film a while ago. It was shot on HDV. I used some in-camera audio (from the HDV tapes) but also, some audio files from my sound mixer, which I originally imported as WAV files and manually sunc them up. Everything was fine.
Later, I outgrew the original media drive and upgraded, copying all of my media to the new drive. When I did that, I noticed that all of the camera audio was fine, but all of the audio that had been imported from those WAV files was randomly out of sync -- meaning that some files were 1 sec early, some 16 frames late, etc.
When I broke the link and re-linked to the original drive, all was fine again. Now, however, doing that makes those original files out of sync also.
When I relink these files now, FCP ALWAYS finds a discrepency with them: They supposedly have a different "Media Start and End" and "Rate." Apparently, that's why they're being offset, but they're the EXACT same files that I started with, so what's up?!??
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. They represent A LOT of work to fix one by one.

This is what it says under FORMAT: 24-bit Integer (Little Endian), Mono, 48.000 kHz
Incidentally, this is EXACTLY the same for both the files on the original drive (that play perfectly in sync) and the copied ones that are out of sync.
I realize that FCP likes AIFFs, but WAVs is what my sound guy gave me.
Any other ideas?

Why does the audio go out of sync on my Apple TV?

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed that the audio goes out of sync with any streaming video on my Apple TV (3rd gen) after about 20 minutes of usage. I have never had this experience in the past and am not sure why it is happening, but one theory is that it has something to do with AirPlay. I'm pretty sure that this problem only happens after I use AirPlay to connect my Mac to the Apple TV. I'm not sure if this is the exact source of the issue and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what solutions may be available. Thanks.

Why is my 1080p24 movie out of sync?

I mastered a video on final cut pro which was shot at 1080p24. I carried that format through to an exported final cut movie which plays fine in quicktime. When I place it into IDVD (no menu just play form start) it is out of sync. I looked for settings that might fix it but saw none. A friend told me he has done this before with no problem. I have never worked with 24 frame media before, and am at a loss. Does something need to be changed when I output from FCP so that I can burn a DVD in sync?

24fps will result in "Out of Sync"
Convert Your material into PAL or NTSC via Compressor (best I know of) in Your
