  • Why are we being pushed to upgrade to iOS 8 when it isn't compatible with Maverick?

Why are we being pushed to upgrade to iOS 8 when it isn't compatible with Maverick? I just tried to open an iCloud document after upgrading to iOS 8 in all my Apple smart devices and OSX 10.9.5 on my MacBook Pro, only to be told that the new iCloud isn't compatible with Maverick and that I should upgrade to Yosemite. Problem is, Yosemite is only available as a Beta and won't have a public release until Oct. 21. Why would Apple cut its users off from iCloud like this?

Checking with my better half, I'm now even more perturbed. According the the iCloud Drive FAQ, it's compatible with PCs running Windows 7. The current Windows OS is 8, which means Apple made iCloud backwardly compatible with Windows, for PC users, but not for its own customers. That *****.
iTunes customers are Apple customers, what are you going on about?

  • Apps gone after Upgrade to IOS 5.0.1

    Hello,
I upgraded my IPad today and all Apps (purchased and free) are now gone.
I didn't do a synchronization with my Computer before, so I can't load them via ITunes.
I already tried it with the App-Store on my iPad, but after choosing "purchased" a note informed me that there are no App for download available.
Is there another way or do I have to buy them all again?
    Can anyone help me?

There is a reason why synchronization is recommended.

I'm confused.  Exactly where did you choose "purchased?"  You should be able to download the apps again without being charged.  Just pretend that you're buying them.

  • App crashing after upgrading to IOS 8

    Dear Members,
app "Vedic Astro" was running fine till ios7 developed in xcode 5.1. After upgrade to ios8, app started to crash on one particular option "Rotate", where one action shhet comes and chart is redrawn, but it crashes on iphone 5 and 4S etc.

The hang on sync can be avoided by updating all purchased apps before beginning the sync of a new iPhone 6.  With the current demand on Apple servers, updating your existing apps can take a couple of hours.  After the purchased apps have been updated, the sync process will load quickly without the hang experienced by many when apps are loading to the new phone from a previous iPhone generation backup.
iOS8 uses updated versions of many popular apps.  Updating your purchased apps and then resynching your 5s should resolve the problem.

  • How do I get my Apps back after upgrading to ios 5

After ugrading to IOS 5 my apps are on my macbook (itunes) but cannot get them back onto the phone! How do I do it?

Re-sync the contacts from the supported application you use on the computer, or from the cloud service that you may be using, i.e. iCloud, Gmail, etc.

  • All apps deleted after upgrading to iOS 5

I upgraded to iOS 5 today, everything went fine, but all my apps were deleted and I don't know why.
I've tried restoring from back up, but the most recent back up is without the apps.
Is there any way to fix this? I have my pictures, music, and everything else, but no apps.

Ok, the exact same thing happened to me - all my apps got deleted! I wasn't impressed. But I figured it out in the end! Go to the App Store app, click on update, then hit the purchased icon. All the apps you've ever had onyour phone (purchased or not) will be displayed. Click on each and every app individually, and every app will be installed back on your phone! Previous usernames and passwords will be remembered - it's like they never got deleted in the first place! Hope this helps!

  • Magazine apps crashing after upgrade to IOS 6

I just upgraded from IOS 5  to IOS 6.1.3, now whenever I launch Sports Illustrated or Time Magazine, the app crashes.  If I reboot iPad, the app will launch once, then crash on each subsequent launch.

I would try deleting the apps and reinstall them. That will delete your magazines as well, but you should be able to download them again.
I have Sports Illustrated myself and so that I could be sure that it would work OK, I deleted the app and then downloaded it again. I had to go through the motions of registering again but as soon as I did, I got a message saying that I was already in the system. I closed the window, went back to the Library by tapping the Library button at the bottom of the app, and downloaded the latest edition with LeBron James on the cover.
Tap the Newsstand icon to open it to your apps. Tap and hold down on on of the icons until it wiggles, then tap the X on the magazine icon in order to delete it. Tap the home button to stop the apps from wiggling, go back to the purchased tab of the App Store and tap on Not on the iPad. Find the app and download it again.

  • Why did map apps downgrade after upgrading iOS 6?

I expect upgrading OS means every apps got improvement. But why did my google map downgrade into apple map? Does anyone know the reason?

    Google Maps review
The good: Map layers, turn-by-turn navigation, Street View, and offline access make Google Maps almost unbeatable.
The bad: No 3D city view.
The bottom line: With its impressive list of features and syncing of data across other devices, Google Maps is a must-have application for anyone running Android.
As far as mobile mapping goes, the newest version of Google Maps for Android offers one of the most robust experiences you can get. More than a simple piece of mapping software, this feature-fest offers turn-by-turn navigation, voice search, indoor mapping (select locations), public transportation information, Street View, and tons of other conveniences. Further, if you use Google Maps on your other devices while signed in to your Google account, your search history, Places, and custom maps sync seamlessly.

When viewing a location, Google Maps lets you activate a variety of add-on layers offering information like traffic, terrain, transit lines, satellite images, and bicycle routes, among others. There's even a Wikipedia layer that plots out entries related to your location, which is great for curious travelers. If you've made any custom maps on your Google account, you can overlay those as well.
If the add-on layers aren't enough, Google Maps lets you zoom into satellite photos to get a close look at buildings and street details. You can even activate street view to get a ground-level look at areas that have coverage. Unfortunately, though, the Google Maps app does not come with 3D flyover images baked in. To get these highly detailed images, you'll have to download it's sister app Google Earth. Hopefully at some point, these two titles merge to offer a more streamlined user experience.
One of the most important aspects of Google Maps for Android is directions. The app lets you easily conduct a search for a destination with text or voice, so you can get directions for driving, public transit, walking, or even biking. You can read your route in list form or hit the arrow icon to activate voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation. While traveling you can even fire up alternate routes if you happen to run into traffic.

But Google Maps is a lot more than just a database of geographic information. The application offers other baked-in services like Offers for nearby deals, Local search powered by Google Places and Zagat, and Latitude for locating Google contacts on the map (with their permission, of course). These services in aggregate make for a complete mobile experience that is pretty hard to beat.
Google Maps for Android now lets you cache maps for access while offline. This is hugely useful for travelers who frequently find themselves in areas outside of their home mobile networks. The feature lets you pinch and drag to determine the area you want to cache, and it tells you how much memory the saved file will cost you.

  • Why can't I update/ download apps from the app store after upgrading to iOS 7.0.3?

I have an iphone 5 and updated my phone to the lastest version (ios 7.0.3) last night. I can't download/ update any apps from the app store using my cellular network.  The only error message is that the app cant be downloaded at this time. As soon as I click the download button, the image of the icon shows up with "Waiting" underneath the icon.  I tried tapping on the app icon to pause the download but that isn't working. I have disabled Wi-Fi setting and enabled"the use cellular data" option in the itunes and app store setting page.  Memory is not an issue because I have a lot of memory available.  In the cellular setting page the App Store is enabled to use cellular data.  It seems like it is a setting issue.  What can be done to fix this problem

Thanks for your suggestion.  Not long ago before I saw your response I tried to download the app and I seemed to have some progress (I had 5 bars and 1x). It looked it was 3/4 of the download complete only to have the same error message.
Since then I reset the phone and I have tried downloading the app when there 5 bars with 3g.  Every time the icon has waiting underneath it and I get the same error message.

  • Why are my apps crashing after shu-down was made on my iPhone?

My e-mail was refusing to load, so I shut my Phone down hoping that it would fix itself. My mail did work after that, but ever since then, my apps aren't even letting me go on to them. I tap the icon, and the app just crashes. I don't know what to do!!!

Try the following basic troubleshooting steps as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup.
    3. Restore as a new iPhone.

  • Camera roll pictures are out of order after upgrading to iOS 8.1

It's nice that iOS 8.1 brings camera roll back. However, pictures are out of chronological order. I'm using iPhone 5s. I upgraded iOS from 8.0.2 to 8.1, and noticed this issue.

That's weird cause my videos are all interspersed with everything else like they used to be, which unfortunately means it's inconsistently screwing up too.  My pics start with 2007 (first year i got an iphone) then run up to about 2014 vaguely in order, then back to 2013 where everything's all out of order, then down to 2012 again (also out of order), then 2011, 2010, 2009 etc like it's running backwards to 2007.  Then once it hits 2007 again, it jumps to this past july.
    SO aggravating!

  • Help! Apps crash after upgrade to iOS 7.0.3

    Hello
I just upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.3 and now nearly all my apps crash as soon as they open.  I tried a soft reset (held down on/off button and home key) and it didn't do anything.  I also upgraded all the apps to the latest version.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Please help, my iPhone is almost useless because of this.
    Thanks!

If you haven't cleared the Multitasking for a while, I would suggest doing that. If that doesn't work, clear cookies and website data, and that might cause it to be faster and less likely to crash. Then turn off and then back on if both of those don't work.

  • Contacts are all mixed up after upgrade to iOS 5!! PLEASE HELP!!

I'm new to the support fourms, so not sure if I'm posing in the right place. I've searched the previous threads and can't find an answer to my question. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
I have a iphone 4, hubby has a 3gs and we use mobileme for contacts, calander and email. We recelty installed the latest iTunes and updgraded to ios 5. Somewhere in this process, our contacts got COMEPELETY screwed up! Many are duplicated. But the biggest problem is that information is getting mixed up between contacts!!! So in other words, information from one contact is mixing in with others and it's impossible to tell where the info came from and how to get it back where it's supposed to be. I have a PC and run WIndows vista. I do not sync my contacts with Outlook or anything else.
In desepration I moved over to the iCloud (got rid of MobileMe) but that didn't make things better or worse.
Is there any way to salvage this situation? I have hundreds of contacts and I'm fearful they are all ruined now!
    Many thanks!!
    Jen

Hi - I'm new to the support forum as well.
Appreciate this post was from October 2011 but there was no reply and I'm experiencing the same issue (albeit I have an iPhone 5) - did this issue get resolved?
Just rang technical support and the lady said she had a problem with her system and would call me straight back... but never did.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Unable to update apps on 4s after upgrading to iOS 8.1

I am unable to update apps on 4s app store after upgrading to iOS 8.1. signed in on app store & icloud still app upgrading will show circle running but wouldn't start upgrading. location service OFF, tried after changing to location service ON but still won't upgrade. what should be the issue? any correct way to update apps. I have been using for long, never had issue with app store on previous iOS migrations. anyone here can help please.

    Hi there Sam R 12,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.
iOS: Force an app to close
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
