Why are my computers using static insead of DHCP

I have decided to test the Home Hub 3 one last time, before I stick to the home hub 2 till bt infinity is released then get a cable router. Anyway when I add a computer to the network the HH3 seems to be giving them static IPs instead of DHCP and giving gaming consoles DHCP is there anyway to get the static for computers to use DHCP as I cannot find any option in the settings.

When you click on the device name in the 'Devices' list under 'Home Network' does it have the 'IP address assignment' set to Static, or is that this says 'DHCP' but the 'Always use this IP address' is set to Yes?
On my HH3 my laptops both say DHCP, but the 'Always use this IP address' set to Yes and if I change it to No it doesn't stay that way, when I go back to the device list and to the laptop again it's gone back to Yes. I have lots of connection issues as per my thread (http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Speed-Connection-Issues/HH3-Wireless-N/td-p/232269) from the laptops and losing connection when other devices are turned on.
On my HH2 my laptops both say DHCP, and the 'Always use this IP address' is set to No - I don't have any connection issues with the laptops.
On the HH3 changing the wireless interface type from '802.11 b/g/n (Recommended)' to '802.11 b/g' doesn't make any difference for me - apart from slowing down the laptop connecetion when I can get it to work.
My HH2 is set to '802.11 b/g/n (Recommended)'

Why can't I use static IP anymore?

I just set up a new intel Mini as part of my media center. I want to do like the other Macs on my network -- use static IP addresses and port forwarding to allow vnc connections.
I'm connected via ethernet. I get dhcp just fine. But when I take the dhcp address, or, for that matter, the next static IP in line, I lose all connectivity to the internet. I've verified that my dns settings are correct.
This is driving me crazy. For example, 192.168.1.106 is what it grabs from dhcp, and it works just fine. If I switch to manual and set if for the exact same thing, it goes offline and won't come back until I switch it back to dhcp.
Any ideas? I've got an XP box and two G5's (Tiger) all configured with staticIP/port forwarding, and they work just fine.

Don't forget that there are many "pieces" to internet access that must all be set to make manual IP selection work, namely:
1) Your IP address
2) The addresses of your DNS servers
3) The default route via which packets leave your network ("router" in Network->TCP/IP)
4) Your subnet mask
As mentioned above you also need to assign an address from outside the DHCP pool that is on the same subnet, as at least some routers will refuse to route traffic that seems to originate from IP addresses that fall within the DHCP pool over which it has control if it did not yet assign that IP address to a client.

Why are observed computers listing vertically instead of horizontally?

Sorry if this is a really basic question...
Just in the last week or so, when I'm observing a lab of computers named "computer 1", "computer 2" etc up to "computer 25" instead of showing them in the observation window 1 through 25 in rows left to right as it used to, now it's showing them in columns, which is messing with my head. I've had a poke around views and preferences but I can't see how do I get them to show in rows again?
My machine and target machines both running OS 10.8, ARD version 3.7, ARD client version 3.6.2

Why are special chars used in Labview filenames supplied by NI? By special chars, I mean ampersands, questions marks, Plus signs, slashes etc. Thats just bad practice in an otherwise good product.

I would like to request that National not use such filenames anymore. Spaces should also be avoided. Just use a format such as MyFileNameWillSuffice.vi.

The LabVIEW coding guidelines warn against using some of those symbols,
but it isn't nearly as limiting as you might want. The reason for this
is that you rarely use VI names on a command line. If you are using
them, then simply "" the path. Feel free to further limit the
characters used in naming your own VIs, but
the names of VIs in vi.lib
and toolkits have already been determined and have in many cases been in
use for five to ten years. They do not cause problems.
Just for the record, LV is also localized into several languages
including Japanese and many of those customers use their native language

Why are my photos using so much memory?

I typically upload my photos from my iPhone 6 to iPhoto after a few months, then delete them all when prompted to do so on iPhoto. I then copy some photos I want to keep on my phone, and go on about my day. However, I noticed how much space photos are taking up on my phone: 2.2 gigs! I only have 99 photos and 1 video on my phone, so how is this possible and what can I do to free up space?

I deleted all my photos and it still says my photos are taking up space with the Photo Library under the Photos & Camera tab.

Why are S / H used for Debit / Credit indicators?

I am new to SAP and am curious as to what the S and H indicators actually stand for, probably in German? Being American, I am accustomed to D=Debit, C=Credit, which is easy to remember. If I could associate a word with each of the letters S and H, it would make it easier for me to remember which is which. Even if the words were German, that would be very helpful.

How can I scan my network to determine which PC is using static IP or DHCP?

I`m using Spiceworks for couple of days alreadyand need some help on this - In another post i saw that via SpiceWorks I can see how many PCs are using DHCP or Static IP (http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/37663-how-can-i-scan-my-network-for-static-ip-s-without-checki...) but is for previous version of the program. Currently I`m running version 7.4.00059.
Can someone point me in the right direction where can I fing this information?

How to fix the "Two computers using the same IP address" issue on the airport express

I just bought an airport express and got dsl at my apartment, and I haven't been able to set up the wireless connection. My DSL works just fine but whenever I hook up the AX I get an error message saying that there are two computers using the same IP address on the network, but I only have one computer.
I know this is probably a simple fix, but I've never had this issue when I set up the Extreme at my parents house and I haven't been able to find a thread on this.
As of right now I have it set to Factory settings.
Help please!

This modem was designed to connect directly to a computer and you are trying to connect it to a router.
Unfortunately, this is not a simple fix as both the modem and your AirPort Express will need to be configured differently to work together correctly.
Connect the modem directly to your computer.
Open up your browser and type the default IP address for the modem into the address bar. Check your documentation on the modem but it is likely 192.168.1.254
That will bring up the configuration page for the modem.
You may need to enter the modem access code which is on a label on the back or bottom of the device
Look for an Advanced tab, then look for a tab labeled something like PPP Location
Right now, you will see that "PPP is on the modem"
Chance that to "PPP is on the computer or router"
Click to save your new settings and the modem will restart
If you ever need to get the modem back to its original settings, you will need to hold in the reset button on the back of the modem for 5-6 seconds and then enter in the default IP address to be able to access the settings on the modem
Connect the modem to the AirPort Express with an Ethernet cable
Open AirPort Utility on your Mac and click Continue to follow the guided setup to "Create a wireless network"
You may be asked to "switch" networks when you do this. You want to switch
Select the "Connect Using PPPoe" option when it appears
Enter your user name and password with your provider. Leave the Service Name area blank. You want to always stay connected if you see that option
Continue to follow the guided setup and Update to save settings
Pull the power cord from the modem, wait a moment, then restart the modem
Log on to the wireless network that you created during the setup and you should have an Internet connection

Let me clarify a finer point. The APEX_ITEM API provides for value , which can come from a table.
You need to add APEX_ITEM to your columns selected from the table as well.
Once you have done that then the p_idx value , the first numeric, in the APEX_ITEM, is accessing in DOM as well as PL/SQL.
In DOM, for JavaScritps, the p_idx 1 becomes f01, 2 becomes f02 ,etc.
In PLSQL the same are APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01, APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02, etc.
Hope that explains what you need to do.

Here are a few things that you check and can try.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
- a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
- other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.
This problem seems to have been around for years, without any proper solution from Apple and/or Adobe! To me, this is very embarrassing!

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

So a singleton should be enough.But that doesn't answer why he should prefer a singleton instead over a bunch of static methods. Functionally the two are almost identical. In both cases there's only one "thing" on which to call methods--either a single instance of the class, or the class itself.
To answer the question, the main reason to use a Singleton over a classful of static methods is the same reason the drives a lot of non-static vs. static decisions: Polymorphism.
If you use a Singleton (and and interface), you can do something like this:
KeyboardInput kbi = get_some_instance_of_some_class_that_implements_KeyboardInput_somehow_maybe_from_a_factory();And then whatever is calling KBI's public methods only has to know that it has an implementor of that interface, without caring which concrete class it is, and you can substitute whatever implementation is appropriate in a given context. If you don't need to do that, then the static method approach is probably sufficient.
There are other reasons that may suggest a Singleton--serialization, persistence, use as a JavaBean pop to mind--but they're less common and less compelling in my experience.
And finally, if this thing maintains any state between method calls, although you can handle that with static member variables, it's more in keeping with the OO paradigm to make them non-static fields of an instance of that class.

Why are static methods called with null references,valid ?

t4 is null means it doesnot refer to any memeory address,hence how is method() called correctly.

You can do that because a) t4's type is "reference to inh6" and b) method() is declared static, which means that you don't need an object to call it, just the class. That class comes from the compile time type of t4. The fact that t4 is null at runtime is irrelevant.

With non-static, non-private, non-final methods, which implementation of the method gets called is determined at runtime, buy the class of the object on which it's being called. I don't use sync and am not signed in? Why are my bookmarks syncing?

My office computer has one set of bookmarks I use at work. My home PC has another, different set of bookmarks that I use at home. I don't use sync and am not signed into sync on either PC. Why are my bookmarks syncing between the two PCs? For instance, I noticed several bookmarks near the top of my bookmark menu above a separator line that I do not use at work. I deleted them. I get home and find those same bookmarks gone from my home PC. I don't want to sync anything between the two computers, why is this happening?

Perhaps an add-on is syncing these for you.
