Why are my contacts no longer in outlook only I-cloud

When I set up I-Cloud my contacts seemed to disappear from Outlook. Why? Also I was deleting duplicates and I deleted a very important contact.and information. How can I restore? Mike

top of the import page where it says, "Select a destination," but you
find the place you want it to go on the left side.
No, this is wrong. You do indeed select the destination at the top right of the Import dialog but you see either the same destination folder or a sub-folder in it, if you have chosen that option, on the bottom right. The left side is only sources from which photos can be copied or added.
When the images were downloaded, I went over to the right side and I believe actually found all the photos were gone.
If the photos were downloaded (something which is not certain from your description) the Import dialog would have closed, putting you back in the Library module. But the right side panel of the Library shows only a histogram, Quick Develop, keywording tools, metadata readouts, etc., so it is hardly surprising that you did not find folders and image files there. They are found on the left.
I went back, in LR, on the right side [?] to my Root Folder, in which all of the images in their folders are stored under Pictures and set up an import.
Imported using the "Add" option in order to catalog them in place or by making copies or moving them to another location?
The images all returned to LR, but they were no longer organized in their folders.
Perhaps because of not understanding the Import interface you moved or copied them to a different destination and it is this alternate or second location that the catalog now refers to.

No, I'm afraid not. Maybe if you spent a bit more time understanding the layout and structure of LR's UI, you could explain your problem better.

    Please try the following…
        1.    First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
        2.    Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
        3.    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

    Nobody here can answer that question. We don't know what you did exactly step by step.They should not disappear when you update iTunes or the iPad iOS.
    If they are still in your iTunes library on your computer - sync them back to your iPad.
    If you did never transferred them from your iPad to iTunes, download them again in the App Store. Tap on the purchased tab and all of your apps should be in the resulting windows. Download them again. You have to use the same Apple ID that you used to buy them with originally, but they will be free downloads.

    What do you have your options set as in a Finder window?

    P.S. That is assuming you are referring to a Finder window? If not, please be a bit more specific.

    This is being caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  To fix this you have two choices:
    On all but one of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  Note: you can still share the same ID for purchasing in Settings>iTunes & App Stores; or
    On all of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at".

    So, am I to conclude from all this that the best thing for one iMac and multiple family devices (2 x iphones, 1 x itouch, 2 x ipods) is to set up itunes account for each family member.  We don't use iCloud except for my (primary iphone)
    We had similar problems to the above, and since the recent 6.0.1 update we've started getting each others texts, on top of my wife and I's contacts being replicated to our young son's itouch, and a seemingly random redistribution of apps.

    If your settings are correct then the issue maybe with the recipient phone especially if both of your phone sends those pics as green/mms instead as imessage.

    On your phone, how many of your contacts are in the On My Phone group, or any other group that is not iCloud, and how many are in the iCloud group (382?)

    Not the same thing, don't confuse a backup of your phone with an iCloud data account. Backup is a separate function.

    I have the same issue.  No certain sense as to why it happened although it seemed to start after I was on the road and turned my iphone into airplane mode and went one step further and turned off a bunch of other services to ensure I was not hit with a big roaming bill.  I don't know but I suspect that turning those services back on may have been part of the reason.
    I have found that in the case of my calendar,  going to icloud.com allowed me to delete the duplcated calendars rather than having to try and clean up specific enteries.
    I am still looking for a solution for my contacts however.  On icloud.com I can delete duplicated groups, however the master list still shows duplicates for every entry.   When I am on my Mac I can filter "out" the icloud data and be left with a single set of my contacts.  It seems however that no matter what I do the syncing services thinks that I should have two of everything.  
    BTW - using the find duplicates does not work.
    I hope someone else can chime in with a more complete solution.  It is very strange as all worked well for a few months.

    I had the same thing happen to me.  It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
    The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library".  This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty.  Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
    It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing.  Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices.  If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
    I spent an hour with an Apple Genius.  he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system.  His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system.  I suspect that this won't solve it.
    The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
    I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.

    Why are all of my devices syncing with my boyfriends phone?     Well in the iPhone and the iPad in the Settings in the iCloud section, there is an Apple ID associated with the device. And in the MacBook Air there is (or can be) an Apple ID associated with the account.
    In the iPhone and iPad in the same settings panel you select what gets synced with the cloud.
    I'm guessing that your devices and your boyfriend's are set up with the same Apple ID and the switches to sync are set? I'm not an expert but that is what I'd look at first. You need to have a separate Apple ID from your boyfriend or turn syncing off if you don't want that to happen I think.

    When I plug in my first gen iTouch it shows up in the sources menu on iTunes and begins to sync. After a few seconds the syncing stops and iTouch disappears from source list. The iTouch never appears in my computer as a device with removable storage
