Why are my deleted emails showing up ghosted in my MacMail inbox? How do I get rid of them?
And this happens even though I've emptied the trash. And the ghosted emails in my InBox can be highlighted but not deleted.

I have the same problem and it is killing me. Apple store technicians were not able to help. This is a data protection that is affecting my privacy. If this issue cannot solved then I will not be able to send confidential emails. It *****.

my trash folder is only showing emails back to April 28th.
Does the account use POP, or IMAP?
If IMAP, your Trash folder is almost certainly on the server and as such, may be subject to the email provider's policy on trash/deleted folders.
Check what your provider's rules are on trash retention. You may be permitted to adjust the period for which they are held. Alternatively you can set Thunderbird to use a trash folder under your Local Folders account which will be on your own hard disk and thus invisible to your email provider.
And of course check the settings in Thunderbird for what to do with deleted messages. You can set it to automatically remove messages after a defined period. Look under Tools|Account Settings for deletion settings.
OTOH, if you're routinely deleting messages and relying on them being kept indefinitely, I'd suggest you rethink your procedure and not delete them until you're confident you no longer need them. Recycle bins, waste bins and the like are the first to go when disk space gets tight. Most email providers have a policy of automatically removing messages over a certain age from the Deleted folder, specifically to manage and reduce disk space usage. -
Ihave iphone5c. Does not permanently delete emails showing in inbox. When they are move to Trash then inbox at first shows empty. However if you leave Mailbox and return then all the emails that were previously deleted and now repopulated in Inbox. I have tried various things like marking them "read" before deleting, then moving them to Trash, and they still return. What is going wrong and how do I fix the problem?
What your describing sounds lot like Nortons anti virus, but other do it to.
Multiple copies of the same email over and over are almost always anti virus incoming mail scanning. Turn off scanning and the problem goes away turn it back on and it resumes.
My guess is that your filter issues, and search problems are also related to this uniquitous and most ignored security tool that messes up far more than it should..
Deleting the index
I assume you mean the global-messages-db.sqlite. if you don't close Thunderbird and delete it now. Searches will be incomplete until it rebuilds and the time to do that will have a lot to do with how much mail there is and how busy the computer is.
Now create an exclusion in your anti virus program for the Thunderbird profile folders. My guess is it is trying to scan the files in your profile every time Thunderbird tries to open them and generally turning things into a tug of war, which Thunderbird looses as it just does not wait around if files are locked. It expects exclusive access to it's files immediately, not in 10 minutes when the anti virus has done it's thing. So things get added to the index but not removed. Mails don't move as the destination or source file is "in use" etc. -

its because you guys are using the same Apple ID on both devices , when you use the same it connects to iCloud/iMessages so when ever you get a text on any other iPhone with there iMessages on its going to show on both devices because its the same apple ID that you are using for your iMessages , you can fix that buy gating a new apple ID for one of you ,ore go to your system preferences then go in to your iMessages remove your email from there make shore its only your number on there ,but the best why is to get another Apple ID.

open messages. go to messages>preferences>accounts. select your icloud account from the left sidebar, and uncheck 'enable this account' then recheck 'enable this account'

No, this is not the case. I know where i purchased the movie and I also know movies cant be added to the cloud such as music, TV shows can. The instance happened during the dowload. I think that depending which computer is up and running and the bandwith allocated on either network, which ever computer that finishes first is the one that gets the movie. Just a thought. So next time I will ensure my IMAC is not running. I think that fixes it.

I am having the same problem with texts not appearing on my online text log and have also noticed a huge increase in data since my two sons have had their iPhone 5s. I have the iPhone 4. Two problems here
iPhone users DO appear. In the posted questions and response below, you indicate that if we are all using iPhones then we are not using the Verizon network but using data. HOW DO I STOP THIS DATA USAGE AND RETURN TO USING THE NETWORK? I can't afford the data charges that I am getting.. HELP!! and Thank you.

If you are all using iPhones, then it's likely the texts are going through iMessages and therefore use data. Since the texts are not using the Verizon network, but the app, they do not show up in the logs. The app is not specifically blocking the texted numbers from showing up, but the information comes through Verizon as data usage, not numbers texted.Sparkyjames81,
Lets figure out just where those texts are going! There are many apps that can be downloaded from the Play Store for Android phones that will allow messages to be sent over the internet, and therefore they are not actually text messages and will not show up in our records. Even Facebook has their own messaging app available that does this.
If you have an iPhone, they come with a service called iMessage that allows for messages to other Apple devices be sent via the internet, and this will also not show up on our records. These are all ways to bypass our actual texting services, and since these messages are not being sent as texts they do not show up on our records.

From that information, it makes sense that your calendar is off.
Phoenix is in another time zone part of the year. When daylight saving changed, Salt Lake City and Denver changed, but Phoenix did not. You may have set time and date to auto, but the Mac knows the time difference and is compensating for it. -

Why are there numbers not showing up on my call and texts log when i look this up online at verizon? There is one number that my daughter texts and calls a lot i found from her phone log but not one time does it show when i look this up on the Verizon wireless call log??? We all have iphones is there an application or something that can block certain calls from showing up? It clearly has texts on her phone from this number why would it not be on the call log?Thank you for your reply.
However, wouldn't an iMessage show up different than a text? It looks just like every other text on her phone. We all have iphones in this house and they always show up as texts on the call log but this one number seems to be blocked somehow from showing up on the text log. And there are texts from weeks ago and it's from an actual number not computer or any weird/odd code and yet it never comes across on the text log when i look it up.
If you are correct and it's coming across as iMessage is there a way for me to block texts coming across this way so they all show up on the text log? -
Why are my deleted songs back on my phone but not in my itune library
After I did the 7 update, all my really old songs that have long since been deleted have shown up in my music library again, but they are not in my itunes library on my computer for my to delete again. Why are they suddenly back and how do i get rid of them?

1. Go to settings
2. Scroll down until you find Music
3. Tap on Music
4. Scroll until you find Show All Music
5. Switch it off (if it's green then switch it to turn it white)
That's what I did and when I go to my music library it only shows the ones i havent deleted.

Deleted emails show up on iphone
On my IPhone 4, I have my hotmail accounts synced, however, when I delete emails from the accounts on my laptop, they still show up in my inbox. I have mail days to sync set to no limit. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have exactly the same problem on my IPhone 4S (iOS 6.1.2). Im on the Orange network in the UK if that makes any difference!?
