Why are my duplicated form fields rotated 90 degrees?

I'm duplicating form fields from a portrait document (Doc 1) to a portrait document (Doc 2) that was originally landscape.
Step 1: I rotated the landscaped document (Doc 2) using the right toolbar under pages and saved the document.
Step 2: I inserted the portrait document (Doc 1).
Step 3: I duplicated the form fields from the Doc 1 to Doc 2 but the duplicated form fields are at 90 degrees.
How do I correct this?

I'm am really talking about the video transmission over skype

  • Pasted form field rotates 90 degrees

    Copy & paste form field from old version always does the following to the new form field.
    Rotates 90 degrees
    Changes Horizontal & vertical size.
    The only way I have found to fix this to date is to re-create in the new form.
    Does someone have an easier method?
    Thank you,

    Even though a page appears on screen in portrait orientation, it could in fact be a rotated (+/- 90 degrees) landscape page, with all of the page contents rotated as well. You can tell by examining the internal page rotation setting, but this isn't really necessary as it is undoubtedly the reason. You might wonder how or why this could have happened, and it goes back to what was used to create the PDF in the first place. It's unlikely that they two PDFs were created from the same type of source document with the same application and method of converting to PDF. This internal page rotation normally doesn't matter, but it does when working with annotations, which ahve rotation values relative to the page on which they're placed. So when you copy a field from a page with one rotation onto another with a different rotation, you'll see this behavior.

  • Form fields rotate after copying/pasting

    Hello all, my first post to the forums.
    I created a form template in Word/Mac, saved as PDF and brought into Acrobat 8 Pro/Mac to add form fields. Now I want to replace one of the underlying pages. Whenever I replace the page, all the form fields rotate 270 degrees. In addition, if I open up the field properties and switch the orientation back to 0 degrees, the text orientation changes but the size of the form field remains shifted (a vertical vs. horizontal landscape), meaning I would have to resize every field.
    I've tried every way that I can think of to make this change, all with the same results...I've inserted a new page and copied and pasted the fields, I've copied and pasted from one document to another...I've replaced all pages of the form instead of just one page. I get the same results on different computers and with different versions of Acrobat (tried 7 and 8).
    Can anyone help? According to Acrobat documentation, there shouldn't be any restrictions on moving or coping form fields and certainly, a 270 shift can't be normal behavior. I also tried rotating the whole document to see if I could work around the bug but no matter what the page orientation, the fields always rotate 270 degrees in relation.
    If anyone could offer suggestions or work-arounds, I would really appreciate it. I'm faced with the distinct possibility that I will have to recreate 200+ fields every time I want to adjust the page underneath.
    Thanks in advance, Angelique

    I am merely posting this in my frustrations to Adobe in the hopes they read this article and realize it truly is a problem.
    >
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (Version 7.1.0). I have some Word docs I created entirely in landscape format and inserted 1 document (multiple pages) at a time. The Words docs were created using table formatting and the layout was consistent across all documents - merely edited and used Save As for consecutive documents.
    >
    However, after inserting these docs into Acrobat 7 to add stamps and commenting, my stamps and comments do not copy and paste appropriately between pages. Some pages maintain the orientation, but others rotate the objects - stamps or texts boxes - 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
    >
    All of the pages were designed the same, inserted in the same way, and have maintained the same landscape orientation throughout. Yet the copy and paste mechanism does not paste the same between pages.

  • Duplicating form fields from one PDF document to another

    Hi,
    Does anyone know of a way to select and duplicate all acrobat form fields from one PDF document into a new PDF document. I know I can do so one field at a time but would like to know if there is a way to do so in a wholesale fashion.
    Our PDF documents are created in-house each year and are nearly the same as the previous year's document containing 99% of the same form fields in the same locations. These forms contain a lot of form fields, anywhere from 50 to 100 fields.
    Rather than start from scratch each year defining the same fields that were present in the previous year's document, I am looking for a way to copy the form fields from an existing PDF document (last year's PDF in our case) and copy the form fields into a new PDF document (that does not yet have any form fields defined) and hopefully maintain all the field attributes and positions from the previous years document.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Steve

    The PDF template we need to copy the form fields "to" doesn't start out having any form fields. It is the fields that we need copied from a previous year's PDF template.
    Here's an except from my original post: "I am looking for a way to copy the form fields from an existing PDF document (last year's PDF in our case) and copy the form fields into a new PDF document (that does not yet have any form fields defined)"
    The "new" PDF template is a complete "paper" form with updated legal text and calendar year referrences but NO form fields. In our IS group, we then take these forms, add form fields to them and are then able to populate them with database-resident user data. We serve them up to the user in their browser pre-populated with their application data.
    So again, our need is to find a way to copy form fields from "last year's" PDF template and copy just the form fields to an fresh "new year's" PDF template that contains no form fields to begin with. What we begin with is just a PDF representation of a paper student loan application.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Why no Date Selector Form Field

    Why has Acrobat Pro not included a date selector as one of their form fields when it is such an important and useful option?

    Good question! This is something I've feature requested for some time. There's one for XFA forms created with LiveCycle Designer, Reader for iOS allows the native iOS date selector, and Forms Central forms have one. The problem with Acroforms is a new type of form field would have to be approved by the ISO folks who now control PDF. But it could also be implemented as a JavaScript method, similar to app.popUpMenu, which would allow backwards compatibility.
    Please submit a feature request so there's some hope of this being added in the future. In the mean time, it's possible to built a date picker using a collection of form fields, as demonstrated with the free Form Router toolset: http://www.formrouter.com/tools/index.html

  • Why are Links and forms not working in mobile safari?

    Why do links and forms on the site I am designing not work in mobile safari? They work fine in desktop browsers.
    The controls change state when focused, so it's not that they're being blocked, they simply don't activate. Behavior tested and observed on iPad running iOS 6.1.2 and iPhone running iOS 7.0.2.
    Reference: http://gilli.co/test.html

    I had the same problem but I just found a solution. Siri mistakenly suggests to enable reminders (which you should), but the setting that enables all these, is under System Services (on the bottom of the page) -> Location Based Alerts. I had deactivated it alleviate battery problems and had forgotten about it. Hope this helps!

  • Why are my pics being automatically rotated from landscape to potrait??

    Background: I use a Nikon D90. I have used a Windows machine up until this week, and never had this issue. I spoke with customer service for over an hour trying to resolve this issue, fail. I take pictures of guitars. Every single picture is a landscape picture. I have set Image Capture as my default program to import pictures. When I connect the camera, the program turns all the pictures of guitar necks to portraits. iPhoto did the same, I use Image Capture because I can set a destination for my import. This is the issue. _I want to import my pictures exactly how I take them, all in landscape._
    The windows machine never did this. I'm positive it isn't an issue with the camera. Out of all the pictures, it only does this with the guitar necks. I think the Mac is trying to "help" me by rotating my pictures for me. But they aren't pics of trees and they don't need rotated.
    What do you guys think?
    Can I attach a screenshot? I don't see an option...

    I've used windows machine in the past, with the same camera and a few different import programs, and have never had this issue before.
    Do those machines/programs support the auto-rotation feature of your camera? That is, if you take a picture in portrait orientation, do they show it rotated?
    I'm not sure why the images of the neck are rotated... if, as you say, you took this photo in landscape orientation, with the bottom of the camera toward the ground, then there's no reason for them to be rotated unless your camera has a feature to auto-rotate based on the image content. I'm not finding any documentation of such a feature in a Nikon D90, though I didn't look very thoroughly.
    One question: I can't tell from the photos, but it looks like the ones showing the issue could have been taken from above. If that's the case, this could be your problem. If you were shooting from above and took a picture of the body, then moved the camera, then took a picture of the neck, that could cause what I'm seeing. Keep in mind that your camera's accelerometer has no way of knowing that acceleration from movement is different from acceleration of gravity. Sliding your camera to the right on a rig might fool the camera into thinking it was rotated 90° counterclockwise, as shown in the photos of the front of the guitar, and sliding the camera to the left on a rig could make it think it was rotated 90° clockwise, as shown in the photos of the back of the guitar. With the camera pointing straight down, gravity would not re-orient the accelerometer as soon as the movement stopped.
    That's just a theory, I have no way of knowing whether the camera would actually behave as I describe.
    Is this question in the right forum?
    Probably... if you were using iPhoto, it would be better in the iPhoto forum, but you're using Image Capture, which makes it a little less clear-cut.

  • Why are songs duplicated when I drag and drop them?

    I am using iTunes 7.02, not that that matter, since the problem has happened in previous versions too....
    Anytime I drag a folder of songs into the iTunes window to add them to the library (i.e. from a folder on the desktop) the songs are all added to the library, but they are duplicated (two of each song, identical and both playable).
    Why does this happen and what can I do to stop it? Is there some simple setting that I have wrong in the preferences or something?

    I think the reason OE shows the original date is because each message is stored as a single file, whereas TB stores all messages in a folder in one file, an mbox file. So, when you save a message as a single eml file, its 'date modified' is the date the eml file was first written from the mbox file.
    You may find the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ ImportExportTools] add-on useful as it lets you add the date of the email to the eml file name when the email is exported ('Save selected messages' from the message(s) right-click menu).

  • Why Are Password Protected Forms not Fillable on Reader App

    I have made a fillable form on Acrobat X Pro that is protected with password security in order to deny printing or editing (other than filling the form and commenting), however the app will open but will not allow you to fill it. The document's forms are fillable on any other computer. How can this be fixed?
    It is reader version 10.4.1 on a Asus Transformer TF300T android Ver 4.1.1

    As you have discovered, Adobe Reader for Android does not yet support filling encrypted forms. It is something we are considering for the future, but I cannot give any insight into when we will have that support available.

  • Why are the wave forms suddenly appearing so small?

    I'm doing voiceovers on my mac and using usb condenser mic (se2200a). Normally when I record, I set each track at -8.8 dB, set the recording volume to 50% and it has always worked just fine. Today, I had to boost the volume massively to hear what I'd recorded and don't know how to get it back to normal. ( yesterday I was experimenting with different eq settings, but that was on different projects, would that have made a difference?) I'd be very grateful for some help please.

    got it sussed. My imput levels were too low. Ignore me.

  • Why are Notes duplicating?

    With the upgrade to Mavericks I'm an issue with Notes. Every time I begin to create a new or edit an existing Note. It duplicates it's self approximately every 20 seconds. Any I sea what is going on here?

    I believe I've fixed this issue also, but without having to turn off keychains (so far, so good anyway). I went into the iCloud settings on the web and chose the option to reset the documents and data, and then restarted all of my devices that log into iCloud. This also seemed to fix an issue that the notes I'd created on my Macbook air were not syncing to iCloud on any of my other devices. Time will tell if this will stick, but for now, things seem to be back to normal.

  • Cannot edit PDF form fields

    Windows 8.1, IE 11, Acrobat Reader (11.0.10), Acrobat Pro X1 (11.0.10)
    I received a PDF that contains what are supposedly editable form fields. When I open the document in Adobe Reader (11.0.10), a green bar appears above the top of the document stating that "This file includes fillable form fields. You can print the completed form and save it to your device of Acrobat.com", however, I am unable to type into any of the fields. Its document properties indicate that the file has "No Security", and that all operations are marked as "Allowed". I click "Highlight Existing Fields" and all the fields (dozens of them) appear highlighted, as expected. I simply cannot enter any data into the form.
    To investigate further, I opened the file in Acrobat XI (11.0.1), and enter Form editing mode (Tools->Forms->Edit).  I am unable to directly edit the form fields by clicking on them directly. There doesn't seem to be any invisible graphic layered on top of everything. The individual fields almost seem "disabled". I can, however see the list of fields in the navigation pane, and click on them individually from there and bring up their properties and modify them that way. I have checked the field properties and they all seem to be enabled, not locked, not read-only, etc...so I am at a loss as to what is preventing this form from being filled out in Reader, or edited normally in Acrobat.
    Additional info: I checked the document properties, (Document Propertied-->Description) and in the "Advanced" section, the PDF producer says that the PDF version is 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x) so I suspect this might be part of the problem. I therefore did a "Save as other...-->Reader Extended PDF-->Enable More Tools" as an attempt to upgrade the file, but that didn't help.
    Any help appreciated!

    Actually, it has been replaced with a green bar in recent versions:

  • Protect Form Fields from "Clear Form"

    I've created PDF Form with various fields, and created button to make readonly for all the Field data. This PDF Form will be used by 3 persons in different section. How to protect all filled text fields from "Clear Form" function in Form Tool.
    Once the Form fields are filled by 1 person, the other person can not use the "Clear Form" function to clear all filled fields. Please guide to to protect filled text,checklist fields from "Clear Form".

    If one flattens the form fields then they become context and are no longer form fields. It is possible to selectively flatten PDF content like annotations, form fields, page ranges, and by the "print/no print" property for Acrobat versions 6 or above.
    The flattenPages is not available to Reader.
    PDFScripting.com has a tool bar button that can perform selective flattening.

  • Getting two session varibles into one hidden form field

    In a hypothetical exaple, if my first session variable is kt_user_name and it's value is bestperson, and my second variable session is kt_exerreference and it's value is ex1a, I'd like have the value submitted in the hidden form field to be bestpersonex1a (without any spaces if possible). This is the code that I have for the hidden form field that submits the server variables:
    <br />
    <br />
    <form>
    <input type="hidden" name="exerreference" id="exerreference" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['kt_user_name'].$_SESSION['kt_login_user']; ?>" />
    <br />
    <br />But the form also has a php section above the head that seems to add the values to the databse. Here is the beginning of the code with the the first 4 values:
    <br />
    <br />// Add columns
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;setTable("exer1");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("user_name", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "kt_user_name"."kt_login_user");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("exerreference", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "kt_user_name");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("Shapes_present_with_target", "STRING_TYPE", "POST", "Shapes_present_with_target");
    <br />
    <br />My question is how do I also configure the code in the 2nd string of this "Add Columns" code to insert both server variables? When I put one server variable as the value in this code (0n line 2), it only inserted the one session varialbe value (not 2 as are in the form field). As you can see, I currently have "kt_user_name"."kt_login_user" which is givig me server errors.
    <br />
    <br />Here's another idea that didn't work yet:
    <br />
    <br />// Add columns
    <br />$user = $_SESSION['kt_user_name'].$_SESSION['kt_login_user'];
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;setTable("exer1");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("user_name", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "$user");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("exerreference", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "kt_user_name");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("Shapes_present_with_target", "STRING_TYPE", "POST", "Shapes_present_with_target");
    <br />
    <br />Any ideas on the correct syntax?
    <br />
    <br />Thanks for any help.</form>

    Günter,
    <br />
    <br />I think I did as you suggested. I put this as the form field:
    <br />
    <br />
    <form>
    <input type="hidden" name="exerreference" id="exerreference" value="<?php echo $_SESSION['kt_user_name']; ?><?php echo $_SESSION['kt_login_user']; ?> <br />" />
    <br />
    <br />and changed back the Add columns section to this:
    <br />
    <br />// Add columns
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;setTable("exer1");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("user_name", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "kt_user_name");
    <br />$ins_exer1-&gt;addColumn("exerreference", "STRING_TYPE", "SESSION", "kt_user_name");
    <br />
    <br />The form does submit now, but only the kt_user_name server varible is showing up in the exerreference field of the databaswe, not also the kt_login_user server variable.
    <br />
    <br />Any ideas on what to do to get it working right? Do I need to modify the exerreference string in the Add columns section?
    <br />
    <br />Thanks - Dale</form>

  • How to find which form fields are duplicated

    OK I've been making several forms in PDF to merge together at a later date. Now I merged them but its telling me I have multiple form text fields that are named the same. How can I find out all of which form text fields are named the same so I can change them. Is there a search function to do that or not?
    -Darian

    Thank you for your response and if i wanted to remove the form fields then this would defiantly help me. I am actually trying to put a few different PDFs together to make one big PDF and I have form fields that are named the same, per the message I get when merging 2 PDF docs. Because there is so many form fields to go through I was wanting to know if there was a quick way to see all the form fields that are named the same so I can go change the name of them. I want to keep all the form fields just cant have any of them named the same. thanks
