Why are my messages green with my iPhone and my husbands

My husband and I both updated our iphone 4 and the messages between us went to blue for a few days and now they are green again. His phone is listed as an iphone in my contacts, I don't get why it is green again. Other people with iphones are blue.

They're green because they're being sent as SMS.
As far as why you can't enter your apple password to activate, where specifically are you trying to do this and what happens when you try/

I had the same problem, after a long discussion with Apple one of their engineers came up with the bright idea of restoring from the original backup via WiFi rather than connecting to iTunes by USB. This should give you a pretty good idea as to whether the photos are there in your backup file, as for instance it said uploading 22 of 863 photos for me, left it overnight to restore from backup via WiFi, restarted the iPhone in the morning and all of my photos had been restored. I have since backed up all photos to a very helpful Dropbox "Camera Uploads" update.
To restore from iCloud via WiFi, on your device:
Open Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Wait for the device to restart, input Time and Date Settings and Connect to WiFi.
Log in using your Apple ID and select Restore from iCloud Backup. (Ensure it is the iCloud backup with all relevant photos).
Leave device to Restore overnight and restart in the morning!

HT3529 Im getting his messages and facetime requests. Recently others are receiving messages from my daughters iphone and its appearing as my sons itouch. Help!

I set up my son's ipod touch on my apple ID. Recently, I've been receiving all his imessages as well as facetime requests. I don't want to have his messages and he can see mine. ICloud is not activated. Additionally, my daughter, who has a seperate apple ID but does you same computer for itunes and pulls songs from my ID, is having her messages show up to others as if its coming from my son's itouch. I'm not sure what to do at this point but I don't want visibility of my text/imessages on his touch. How do I remedy this problem?

On each different devices go to:
- Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and
- Settings FaceTime and look at the email address, Apple ID and phone number (If present)
A phone number only appears if the same Apple iD is used on an iPhone with iOS 6
You do not want the same email address and phone number one different devices.
Best is to use for Messages and Facetime a different Apple ID

Why are SPAM messages showing hits=negative numbers and getting through?

Message headers in known SPAM are reporting NEGATIVE numbers!
How do I figure out what rule is pushing them into the negative?
No wonder SPAMASSASSIN isn't catching much.

Why are apps not syncing between my iPhone and iTunes?

Hi! When I connect my iPhone to my computer and sync with iTunes, everything gets synced except my apps! If I get a new app in iTunes, it will not sync across to my iPhone. I have to download the app from the App Store on my iPhone. If I delete an app from my iTunes, it does not delete on my iPhone. I have to delete it myself from the iPhone. I cannot move apps across iPhone pages in iTunes and have it sync to my iPhone, either. Yes, my iTunes is authorized, and the Run Diagnostics all works with no errors. What am I doing wrong? What setting do I need to change? Thanks!

I just want to clarify that the syncing process goes through all its steps: preparing, contacts, calendars, notes, email accounts,... then "determining apps to sync" flashes really fast, and the syncing ends without doing anything with my apps!

Not being sent as email - shown as being sent from an email address because you have selected to start new iMessage conversations from your Apple ID email address on your iPhone.
When registering an iPhone with iMessage, the phone number along with your Apple ID email address is registered with it.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From - select your iPhone's phone number.

OK, here's the explanation. When you take a picture, the iPhone knows what orientation it is in (portrait, landscape, etc.) and adds that information to the picture's EXIF data so it knows which side is up. Apple devices can decode this information and show the picture right side up when it is viewed. However, Windows computers cannot do this. They are not capable of decoding the orientation information added by the iPhone, so they are displayed in a default orientation (which may not be right side up).
This only happens on Windows machines, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it, except use the rotation buttons in Windows picture view to orient the photo correctly.

it's meant to work like that
so if you receive a message on your iphone you also get it on your ipad or ipod touch
to avoid it use separate appleID for each device
or turn off imessage on 1 or both devices in their settings
but that will not fix the issue that 2 devices using the same appleID will never be able to facetime eachother
the appleID is a unique handle for 1 user only

When I tap a photo in my iPhone photo gallery, the photo appears but there is always a "this movie format not supported" alert and then the alert goes away and the photo appears. These are photos I've taken with the iPhone and aren't even movies.

It's very odd. I take photos with my iPhone and then later go to view the photos in the Photo Gallery on my iPhone. The photos to appear, but I keep getting "this movie format not supported" alerts, even though I am looking at photos taken by my iPhone. The alert appears briefly just after the photo appears and then the alert goes away and I can see the photo. They are just still photos and not movies. Why wouldn't the iPhone recognize the format of photos it is taking?

That thread helped for a time. But now it seems as though my computer is back to slow again. But, some of the jargon is over my head as well. Sounds like it is using your Apple ID / Associated Emails to receive the iMessage. This means that the person who is replying is making it go to your email address. Make sure that the person you are sending the iMessage to has an iPhone as well. I don't remember if other iOS devices can send iMessages to a mobile phone number.
