Why Are My Pics Out of Focus in iMovie?

The pictures I downloaded to my imovie are in focus just fine in the thumbnails but when I play the movie they all are out-of-focus on the screen. Could you help me?

Thumbnails always look better because they are smaller and smaller always improves definition. How does the video look when played directly from the camera, say through a TV? I suspect that the video itself is out of focus and you couldn't notice until you blew up the picture.a guess.

  • Why are my photos out of focus?

A while back my camera wasn't auto focusing well. I sent it in for repair. I haven't used it much lately. I too some flash phots of my granddaughter last week end and they are not in focus. What would be the most likely causes of them not being in focus. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

What camera and lens do you have? Is it the kit lens? I have sent 2 kit lens (18-55mm) for repair because the focus cable inside the lens disconnected while zooming. Thus the camera confirms focus but the photo come out blurry.

  • Adobe Reader screen images are fuzzy or out of focus

The screen images in an Adobe Reader document are fuzzy or out of focus.  How can I sharpen them?

    Thanks:
The Fonts & Colours option worked wonderfully for me and now my pages are displaying the colour and images I expected to see. So very simple in the end. Is it related to the current upgrad? At least I will not have to trouble with attempting to revert to an earlier version.

  • Why are commands "grayed out" on edit tab on Elements 9?

Why are commands "grayed out" (not available) on the edit tab on Elements 9?

It’s often awaiting a user action e.g. opening a photo in the main Editor space or making a selection or a new layer or flattening an image or changing bit depth etc.

why are menus grayed-out in trial version? how can I use the effects then?

Every piece of software has a learning curve, and its own terminology.  After Effects is a complex professional tool, used by home enthusiasts right through to feature film makers.
There's plenty of very user friendly video editing software that will do the tasks you've mentioned easily.  Might I suggest Adobe Premiere Elements.
For the record, you can't apply an effect to anything in After Effects until you have selected a target layer in the timeline.  This functionality is true of any video editing or compositing software I can think of,

Why are songs greyed out on iTunes?  The songs will play within iTunes, but will not sync with my iPod Classic 160G.  How do I correct this situation?

  • After syncing my music onto my iphone5, why are songs grayed out and not playable

after syncing my music onto my iphone5, why are songs grayed out and not playable?

If you are syncing music to the iPhone automatically, you won't be able to drag and drop tracks on to the iPhone and the music will be grayed out.
You'll have to Manually Manage the music.
Configure iPhone, iPad, or iPod for manual management
If you have iTunes 7 or later*, follow these instructions:
Connect the device to your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select iPhone, iPad, or iPod in the Devices list.
Click the Summary tab and select "Manually manage music and videos".
    Click Apply.
Even when you have enabled manual management, you can still sync some content automatically. Select any content tab, such as Video, to enable automatic syncing for that type of content.

  • Pics out of focus in viewer

Aloha, when I 1)Load in new photos from my camera and 2) view any photo in my library in my viewer at any time, it is out of focus. I have to slide the slider even just a little bit and it brings the pic into focus. When I am looking at a new roll pic by pic, each time I have to slide the slider to see if the pic was shot in focus or if it is just the viewer that is out of focus.
Anyone having the same problem, or know what I can do?
    Thanks, C

Anytime you do anything to a photo in Edit you have to hit the DONE keyy to make the changes. Then the photo will lock in focus.

  • Why are my pics being automatically rotated from landscape to potrait??

Background: I use a Nikon D90. I have used a Windows machine up until this week, and never had this issue. I spoke with customer service for over an hour trying to resolve this issue, fail. I take pictures of guitars. Every single picture is a landscape picture. I have set Image Capture as my default program to import pictures. When I connect the camera, the program turns all the pictures of guitar necks to portraits. iPhoto did the same, I use Image Capture because I can set a destination for my import. This is the issue. _I want to import my pictures exactly how I take them, all in landscape._
The windows machine never did this. I'm positive it isn't an issue with the camera. Out of all the pictures, it only does this with the guitar necks. I think the Mac is trying to "help" me by rotating my pictures for me. But they aren't pics of trees and they don't need rotated.
    What do you guys think?
Can I attach a screenshot? I don't see an option...

I've used windows machine in the past, with the same camera and a few different import programs, and have never had this issue before.
Do those machines/programs support the auto-rotation feature of your camera? That is, if you take a picture in portrait orientation, do they show it rotated?
I'm not sure why the images of the neck are rotated... if, as you say, you took this photo in landscape orientation, with the bottom of the camera toward the ground, then there's no reason for them to be rotated unless your camera has a feature to auto-rotate based on the image content. I'm not finding any documentation of such a feature in a Nikon D90, though I didn't look very thoroughly.
One question: I can't tell from the photos, but it looks like the ones showing the issue could have been taken from above. If that's the case, this could be your problem. If you were shooting from above and took a picture of the body, then moved the camera, then took a picture of the neck, that could cause what I'm seeing. Keep in mind that your camera's accelerometer has no way of knowing that acceleration from movement is different from acceleration of gravity. Sliding your camera to the right on a rig might fool the camera into thinking it was rotated 90° counterclockwise, as shown in the photos of the front of the guitar, and sliding the camera to the left on a rig could make it think it was rotated 90° clockwise, as shown in the photos of the back of the guitar. With the camera pointing straight down, gravity would not re-orient the accelerometer as soon as the movement stopped.
That's just a theory, I have no way of knowing whether the camera would actually behave as I describe.
Is this question in the right forum?
Probably... if you were using iPhoto, it would be better in the iPhoto forum, but you're using Image Capture, which makes it a little less clear-cut.

  • Why are my gradients out of Illustrator coming out as NChannel?

I'm running into an issue with printing gradients. I build the file in Adobe Illustrator CC, in CMYK. I build a gradient of 100% Cyan to 1% Cyan. Save as a PDF 1.5, 1.6 or 1.7. When I look at the PDF with Acrobat it says the gradients are NChannel color space. To get them to work correctly I have to convert them to CMYK. Is there a reason why Illustrator changes the gradients to NChannel and not the image's color space?

Exactly where and when are you getting this message, please post a screenshot. Who is you rcolro specified in the swatches palette. They should be CMYK process and not spot if CMYK is what you are looking for.
NCHannel used for defining spot colors. DeviceN was added to PDF in the PDF 1.4 specifications. It enables more accurate handling of color blending by including additional dot gain and color mixing information.

To convert a document’s colors to a different color space:
In the Convert Colors dialog box, select an option from the list of color spaces and colorants used in the document. You can specify different conversion options for different color spaces and colorants. For example, you could embed separate color profiles to calibrate color for gray- scale, RGB, and CMYK objects. This strategy could be useful if your RIP color-manages PDF files or if you are sharing PDF files with others.
Select an option from the Action menu:
    • Preserve keeps objects in the selected color space when you output the document.
    • Convert uses the destination space profile to convert color objects to a common ICC profile for an output device.
    • Decalibrate removes embedded profiles from the color objects in that color space.
Choose a destination profile, which should accurately define the target output device.
    Specify which pages to convert.
Specify whether to embed the profile. If you embed the profile as a source color space, Acrobat tags all images with the destination profile. If you embed it as an output intent, Acrobat uses the destination profile as the output intent, replacing any existing output intent.
Select Preserve Black Objects to prevent text in RGB black, or other black objects, from being converted to rich black when converted to CMYK.
Depending on the color spaces you select, the Convert Colors command will preserve, convert, or map color values from the source color space to the specified destination space as follows:
Objects with untagged RGB data (DeviceRGB) convert from the working space RGB profile to the CMYK gamut of the destination space. Untagged CMYK (DeviceCMYK) and grayscale (DeviceGray) values are converted in the same way.
Objects in device-independent color spaces (CalGray, CalRGB, or CIE L*a*b) can be preserved or converted. If they are converted, Acrobat uses the device-independent object’s embedded profile information.
Objects set in spot colors (including Separation, DeviceN, and NChannel color spaces) can
be preserved, converted, or mapped (aliased) to any other ink present in the document. Spot colors can also be mapped to a CMYK process color, if the process color model of the destina- tion space is CMYK. Spot colors mapped to other inks can be previewed in the Output Preview dialog box.

  • Why are my albums out of order chronologically?

Ok so I have my library sorted Album by Artist/Year. This worked fine until just recently. I bought some Lady Gaga Remix EPs, and things are starting to get out of order now. However, everything is bought from the iTunes store, so I don't know why it would be messing up. Here is what the stuff looks like:
    The Fame (2008)
    Just Dance Remixes 2 (2008)
    Poker Face Remixes (2008)
    Bad Romance Remixes (2009)
    The Cherrytree Sessions (2009)
    Christmas Tree (2009)
    LoveGame Remixes (2009)
    Paparazzi Remixes (2009)
    Paparazzi Remixes 2 (2009)
    Bad Romance Remixes 2 (2010)
The Fame Monster (2010 (this is the explicit version, so was released a couple months after the original))
    The Remix (2010)
    Born This Way (2011)
Born This Way The Remix (2011)
    A Very Gaga Holiday (2011)
    Telephone Remixes (2010)
    It should look like
    The Fame (2008)
    Just Dance Remixes 2 (2008)
    Poker Face Remixes (2008)
    The Cherrytree Sessions (2009)
    Christmas Tree (2009)
    LoveGame Remixes (2009)
    Paparazzi Remixes (2009)
    Paparazzi Remixes 2 (2009)
    Bad Romance Remixes (2009)
    The Fame Monster (2010)
    Bad Romance Remixes 2 (2010)
    Telephone Remixes (2010)
    The Remix (2010)
    Born This Way (2011)
Born This Way The Remix (2011)
    A Very Gaga Holiday (2011)
The bolded things are ones that are wrong. They are also the 3 most recent items of these that I bought.
I can understand (maybe) the mix-up of same-year things not being in order, but having a 2010 thing be after the 2011 stuff makes no sense. Especially when they all have the correct years and were bought from the iTunes store...
Any ideas? Also have a couple other albums with similar problems, but not bought from the iTunes store, so I attributed it to that.

You may want to make sure some of these albums are not checking the compilation
box under Get Info.   That has screwed up my sorting in the past.

  • Why are my pics/video in iphoto being moved around?

My iphoto seems to swallow chunks of pics/video and store them in other places, ex. my external hard drive w/o my consent. It was working fine until I installed FCPX, could that have anything to do with it?

No idea - what version of iPhoto?
Why exactly do you think that iPhoto "seems to swallow chuncke of pics/video and store them in other places"?
By default (and extremely strongly recommended) when you import a photo or video into iPhoto it is copies to the iPhoto liberary - it is never moved from the original location (although there is no reason for you to leave it there - it is best to delete it once imported) nor is it ever moved within the iPhoto library unless you do an iPhoto upgrade that re-organizes the library - but since you never directly access your photos or videos within the iPhoto library this has no effect on you - you only access them using the supplied tools (see the user tip on accessing your files) or using iPhoto
