Why are my PSDs pixelated at 66% and 33% zoom?

I know its an issue with Photoshop as it does the same for every PSD and on other colleagues PS its fine. Anyone know the solution to my problem?

Why are ACR > PSD files 10-20 percent larger than the same file resaved in PSD? I posted this many years ago and never found an answer. Now that my drives fill up quicker, I thought I might chase this question a little bit further.
Same .CR2 saved within ACR either with cmd-R or open ACR within PSD, the saved file is 34.5mb. Resave that same file (no edits) within PSD either with or without Max-compatible and the file is now 30.7mb. Another file that is 24.5 becomes 19.5MB.
Why the difference? Is ACR and PSD actually using different compression strategies?

Mac 10.8.5 / CC / ACR 8.4.1 - but this has been a consistent behavior over many years and versions, CS6 / CC.

If it is RLE it's not as efficient as LZW:
Saved ACR>PSD = 40.1MB (sample image this AM)
opened in PS and resaved as PSD = 30.8MB
resaved as TIF without LZW = 40.1MB (this adds to your thought that the ACR>PSD doesn't us any compression)
resaved as TIF/LZW = 9.6MB

I'm within arms reach to a rack of 40TB of drives (doesn't include off-site drives), and all 2TB drives are being recycled to 4TB drives, as a result the rack is always growing. Actually the ACR>PSD files don't really make a difference in our long term storage, only for the nightly backups. But anyway, how you save, what you save etc. should all be part of the discussion.
.... so in my case, throw in an excess MB here and there and all of a sudden you are talking TB's. Plus advantages in backup times, drive life, and energy use.
Somebody added compression into the PS>PSD format, but it wasn't included in the ACR>PSD format, was it a decision or an oversight? If it's just a matter of making ACR compatible with PS when saving the same PSD format..... then why not?

Have you tried resetting your phone (hold down the Home and Power buttons a the same time and continue to hold until the Silver Apple appears). Once the Home screen comes back up, see if your Music is OK.
If it is not, then, have you sync'd your phone to an iTunes library on a computer? If so, then hook it up to the computer, uncheck the "Sync Music" option so that no music is sync'd and then sync the phone. This should delete everything on the phone. Then go back and re-check the "Sync Music" option, and select any other criteria you want on that screen, and then sync again. This should put back all of your music.

I have been playing duo and montotone images into indesing with no trouble. Then all of a sudden as I placew them they go black and whitre. I have tried everything from re saving, re making in photoshop and differant colours et5c. But nothing seems to wrok. The images already in my document arew fine it is just new ones. If someone could help that would be great

Can you start a new document and then load one of the duotones known to be good in the working file and have it correct? If so, try one of the duotones known to be bad in the working document in the new file. Does it work?
If no to either suggestion, can you share one of the images known to be good and one known to be bad? ZIP 'em up and upload to dropbox and plop a link here. Or, to keep the file sizes down, you can quickly make a new set and provide those.
As well, the ID version and OS info would probably be helpful.

Why are Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 source and program monitors playing each others footage? I import my footage into the project like normal. I drag it to the source monitor on the left hand side to set in and out points then I drag it to the time line. The footage drops into the time line with no problem but when I go to play the footage in the time line it plays back on the source monitor and not on the program monitor like it is suppose to. Other times ill drag the clip to the time line and trim it there and it will be fine and show up on the program monitor. Then ill go try to set a clip to have in and out points (which is suppose to show up in the source monitor) but it shows up in the program monitor. The clip is not even in the time line it should not be on that monitor! I have updated the program to the late update. I have re installed the program numerous times and I have even ran the Adobe Clean up program. Couldn't find much on this problem. Please help thank you! I have a PC. My computer is also way over the recommended minimum specifications to have the program installed on.

Why are my PSD's placed in Indesign not printing as accurate as Jpegs?

Are there any common do's and donts when placing PSD's in indesign? I know its an extremely broad question. Ill explain my process...
Take Raw photo - use adjustment layers to modify image - save as PSD - place saved image in indesign - scale to appropriate size - save PDF - Print at printers. Sometimes I get moiré patterns, sometimes I get speckled images like using a sharpenning tool or filter far too excessively.
Should I be resizing in Photoshop to exact final dimensions?
Am I blaming photoshop for a PDF problem.. maybe I could adjust PDF resampling settings?

to get the best quality files in InDesign- import them, dont drag them over. use File>Place.
make sure send image data is set to all when printing. (print>settings>graphics and then under images set "send data" to "all")
also: place your TFF in the frame. you can always fitting > content to frame.

Why are all paths in Clipping Masks and Compound Paths?

When I open up previous versions of Illustrator files (i.e. CS5), why are all of my paths messed up. Every object is embedded in a Clipping Mask, paths are compounded and in most cases type on a path is expanded into multiple non-editable objects. This causes complete redesign. This is terrible.

Because Illustrator accessed the PDF part of the file.

How were those files transferred to your computer? Are they on a server?
How old are they?
Which versions were they created in?
Did you already try to restart (the computer)?
Any plugins installed?

Why are the colors in XTerm (x11) and Apple's terminal are different?

Is there a way to fix this? I would like Apple's terminal to look like XTerm...

Why are my current dimensions supposedly 424x238 and output terrible?

I am working on a timelapse. Used Quicktime Pro to make a clip from thousands of images (jpgs, 2144 × 1424). Output is beautiful, but a little large with 1.2 GB. Wanted to use FCE 4.0 to add some music and make a lighter version for web display (vimeo etc). Now stuck with export settings, as NO MATTER what option I choose, quality is horrible.
Dont know what's the cause but I found one strange aspect, which I believe must be at the root of my problem:
When hitting options in export > quicktime conversion it says under size: dimensions 424x238 (current). Why is this the current size if the clip's "native" dimensions (at least that's what finder says) are 1613 x 1070 or 2144 x 1424, under item properties > frame size in FCE?
To be clearer: When I select the clip (not the sequence or the timeline, just the clip) in the FCE browser and hit export-QT conversion-options it indicates "Size: 2144 x 1424 (current)".
But as soon as I choose the sequence, with edits etc, it will say "Size: 424 x 238 (current)".
Why does the size change when I add a clip to the timeline?
When I try to set the size to custom (tried 2144 x 1424, 720 x 576 and many others) no improvement. The outpout lacks color saturation and the smooth curves of a hill are all pixelated.
Help! Desperate!! Lost half of my day on this ...

I am more a photographer than a videographer and not that well acquainted with Final Cut.
I guess what I am struggling with is that to start with I dont understand why you need to setup anything for a sequence before you actually import stuff.
With photo editing software, your input stays the same until you start working on it and export / save it. I just don't understand why I need to tell FCE in sequence settings beforehand what I am pretending to edit. Why can't it just read the file as it is, a .mov with 2144*1424 resolution? I would find it more intuitive that only when you finished work and want to export you tell the program to use certain resolution, codec etc.
There is for sure a reason for that, but I dont know which one it is, and worse, I dont know how to change the sequence properties so it doesn't mess up my video resolution and colors.
I have found 3 things that I can change and I dont know how exactly they relate to my problem
1. A tickbock under User Preferences > Editing > "Always scale clips to sequence size". This was ticked. I now unticked it. It doesnt seem to change anything.
2. Easy Setup> A bunch of options and suboptions from PAL to NTSC to HD. I dont know at this point how changing anything here affects my importing of a .mov clip assembled with QuickTime Pro from a few thousand jpg images in 2144 resolution.
3. Right click on sequence > Settings: Here I can load different sequence presets, but again, I dont know which one to choose for the data I want to deal with. It doesnt speak about frame size or anything else I can relate to my original .mov video I want to edit and export.
As I was suspecting that the source of the problem was the unusual 2144*1424 resolution of my original video, I batch cropped & resized my jpegs to a 16:9 ratio with 1920*1080 pixels. Assembled a 25fps movie with QuickTime Pro. That gives me a .mov with 1920*1080 "HD" resolution. Import into FCE.
- Settings in Easy Setup: Format: HD. Use: HDV-Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i50
- Sequence setting: Didnt change anything, left the sequence preset "Apple Intermediate Coded 1080i50" (the first in the list).
Export>Using QT conversion. Crossed my fingers and hoped that current size would now be labeled anything different than the ridculous "424x238 (current)". But no, it's still the same. I go to custom and write in the 1920*1080 and tick preserve aspect ratio.
When choosing "Keep Aspect Ratio: Letterbox" it turns my 16:9 image into a squashed 4:3 with black bars on the left and right. When choosing "Keep Aspect Ratio: Crop" it cuts off just ridiculously much pixels (almost 1/4 of the whole image).
Only when I untick "Keep ASpect Ratio" it looks ok except a few pixels on all four sides are cropped. It actually tells me it is 1888x1062 instead of the originally chosen 1920*1080.
Result with H.264: Compared to previous attempts, no pixel problem, but colors still look washed out / undersaturated.
Result with Apple Interm Codec: Colors look ok now.
So it looks like I found some way to get this video through FCE and get a good looking output, using cropped / resized jpgs, using Apple Interm Codec, choosing custom size, and not ticking "Keep Aspect Ratio".
BUT:
- File size is still too large, it only reduced it by some 20%.
- Would like to use H.264 instead of AIC, as it seems to be more common for vimeo etc
- Would like to not need to batch crop and resize all my jpgs before starting to work
- Would like to know what settings to use in easy setup and sequence presets to get the best results.

Do you have system sounds muted? Check the button above your volume control on the right hand side of the iPad. If, when you change the button you see mute on your screen, you'll restore system sounds. If you see lock orientation, you can restore system sounds by double tapping your home button to bring up the task bar (most recently used apps). With your finger swipe those apps all the way to the right to reveal a mute icon on the left. Touch that icon and you'll restore system sounds.
Let us know if that was the issue.

Why are vector files losing their strokes and the paths being outlined when I place and embed them in Illustrator CC?

We use several hundred templates in eps format, so there is a lot dragging of files from windows explorer directly into Illustrator CC . However, when I hit the embed option, all the strokes are converted to shapes. We use a lot of dashed strokes so this is a problem when the embedding option changes each dash to an individual shape. It isn't on all eps files, it's random and we can't find the common factor causing this. The originals were created in Illustrator. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your question is "Why?" and I must admit I don't know. But this is exactly the kind of thing that has always deterred me from adopting a drag-and-drop workflow in any aspect of my work.
If you're bringing those into another file, it might benefit you to open them and copy/paste instead of drag/drop.
The sequence could go like this:
Double-Click
Ctrl+A (select all)
Ctrl+C (copy)
Ctrl+W (close...and return to working file)
Ctrl+V (paste) or Ctrl+F (paste in front) or Ctrl+B (paste in back)

I started firefox this morning just like normal, I didn't change ANYTHING on firefox or on my computer. Now all my bookmarks were randomly erased, and now Hulu is not working. This is the error message from hulu:

I tried looking for bookmarks backups and there are none on my computer, so I am now forced to go through and remake all my bookmarks.

Okay, take a deep breath. Everyone is responding to your problem of losing your settings. Firefox settings folders are called profiles. If you can switch Firefox from whatever pretty much empty profile folder it is using now back to your previous profile, this should resolve your issue. Hopefully with that context in mind, the earlier replies will make more sense.
Also, Java is a plugin used to play certain applets and JavaScript is a technology built into Firefox. For now, you can ignore Java and focus on JavaScript.
JavaScript is enabled by default. To switch the setting, you can use the about:config preferences editor. Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''java''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If '''javascript.enabled''' is user set to false, double-click it to switch it back to the default value of true.

Why are my NEF files appearing faded and dull?

Just purchased ps cs4 and I'm totally new to it having used capture nx2 before now, but I don't understand why my nef files are coming out so faded and low in contrast? When I download from the camera and when I download via Nikon transfer. The files seem perfect in NX2 but way too washed out and low in contrast in bridge and photoshop. Same problem with the windows photoviewer. Anybody help me please?

and clicked on the dialogue tab but don't see a camera calibration setting.

It's possibly because you are using the wrong camera profile.
