Hello. For reasons unbeknownst to me, my iPhone 4 locked up completely yesterday afternoon. I wasn't home, so I tried to do a hard reset and the phone eventually displayed a USB pointing at the iTunes logo. Uh oh. Once I arrived back home, iTunes told me the phone was in recovery mode and had to be factory restored. I wasn't happy about it, but I had just backed it up before the dilemma so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal. WRONG. iTunes required an update to version 11.1 in order to continue. Done. Then it told me that in order to restore my iPhone that I needed to upgrade it to iOS 7.0.2 Ok, I was on 6, but if you insist. The recovery was semi-successful-the phone is no longer a brick and is operating iOS 7, but it of course wiped out everything. The only thing to carry over was my apps. When I look in iTunes, the only backups it displays now are from last night, AFTER the recovery. When I look under C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup it displays one that was 30 minutes older, but still only from after the recovery. Losing all my music was bad enough, but I had various important memos stored on my phone, not to mention the complete loss of all my contacts,etc.
WHERE DID ALL MY PRIOR BACKUPS GO? How do I get this crucial data back on my phone? Please help!

Why are several Apple apps crashing after update to IOS5? Safari, Appstore and iBooks all crash Frequently :-(

Sine I updated to IOS 5.0.1 my iPad(version 1) crashes quite often.
Especially when using Safari, Ibooks and Appstore.
It is quite frustrating and I have feeling that there are memory leaks.
Would be good to know if Apple are working on these problems.

Well, I have an iPad 2 3G 32GB end I can say ios 5 is PERFECT, really never seen an appstore app crashing!(200 apps + games installed), the only system app crashing sometimes is Safari, very rarely.
Os works very fast, notification center is awsome, the battery is good.
Its perfect!
iOS 5 on the iPad 1 of ipad different story, AppStore apps crashing all the time, settings apps crashing, reminders crashing. bad Battery 3-4 h! VERY slow.Rubbish!
I guess what I'm trying to say is, the old ipad its slow end crashes, and so, if you want better, you upgrade.

Why are pictures worse on iPhone5 after updating to iOS7?

Since updating my iPhone5 to iOS7, I've noticed that the quality of images is greatly reduced. In particular, the exposure seems to be off, usually underexposed. Often, I try to use the flash to fill in shadows in daylight pictures and this does not seem to work at all since updating the OS.
Is anyone experiencing this issue? Any fixes?
A couple examples of using fill flash with iOS6 and iOS7 (obviously not apples to apples):

These are failry reprsentative of my experiences using fill flash with both operating systems. I've tried the Apple camera app as well as thrid party apps and the results are similar.

As a follow-up, I tested the exposure on my wife's iPhone5s and found that it does not suffer from these same problems. My thought is that iOS7 has the is metering the exposrure as if other phones have the same flash (and maybe sensor specifications) as the iPhone5s.
It must be the third party app use the same metering as in the Apple camer app, as the same problems persist in Instagram, Flickr, Camera+, and other apps.
Hopefully there is a fix or Apple will provide an update to iOS7 the correct this problem.

I have finally been able to get the strobe effect stopped. I've restarted at least 7 times and each time I got the light grey screen with the darker grey apple and the spinning wheel, but not the log in box I used to get before the 5/21/14 update. But I called my son and he did some research and told me to hold down the Shift key and type in my password, even if it didn't appear in the log in box. It worked and the log in box appeared and I was able to type in my password. After doing this for each of the 7 times, on my last attempt it appears the strobe effect has been weeded out. Thank God - I thought I was going blind with it affecting every screen I was on.
I hope this will be of help to someone.

The iPad 2 is not as powerful as more modern iPads.
Backround updates (iCloud, App Downloads and updates - it can take a while after iPad was updated for these to stop.) , will slow things alot. The screen effects can be turned off, speed up things.

Try this.
Quit all apps completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Check your settings to make sure Siri is actually enabled. Sometimes I find that Siri will disable during the updating process. Oh, and it should be iOS 6.0 not 6.1. 6.1 doesn't exist...yet.

I am adding new episodes, but they don't show up on the main page. The most recent one to show up is from 10/29/07. I added a new episode today, but it doesn't appear on the main page (before you subscribe). Is there a limit to the # of podcasts that can appear on the main page? Has anyone else had this problem? All the relevant info is above.

Yay! Solved my own question; just did a hard shutdown, worked like a charm! Funny, didn't before. But who am I to question salvation?

First try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If not successful, try restoring the iPod from backup.
