Why are my scopes acting wierd?!?

Im not sure how this happened or even how to explain whats going on but somehow my scopes window suddenly stopped playing back video and started playing back a highly saturated cartoonish picture with only the brightest pixels of the video coming thru. I have tried multiple clips from different sources and different cameras ( 7D and a panasonic ag-hmc 150 ) but each time the footage lookes the same in color. Im not sure if its a setting in color that I need to change but I have already tried adjusting the monochrome scopes and the resoloution presets and I have also tried with different compressions ( h264 and prores422 )but im still getting nothing guys pleaaaaase somebody know what im talking about i have a project due in 2 days and im about ready to punch my computer in the face!!

You should know that long GOP formats are not COLOR ready - h.264, AVCHD, HDV etc are not really supported - though they may seem like they work.
What happens if you create a new Color project and import one simple ProRes422 clip?

Why are my emails acting threaded even though my sort is set to unthreaded?

My View> Sort By> is set to Unthreaded, yet when I mark an email as "Read" it randomly marks other emails as read that I have not actually read yet. No I do not have any addons for filtering conversations. Yes I have read this Q&A https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/989629?esab=a&as=aaq The answer that said that even though the right click drop down menu Mark> As Read option shows the 'R' underlined, indicating to use 'R' to mark a single message as read, 'R' will mark the entire thread as read. My question is, how can it mark 'a thread' as red when a thread doesn't exist since the sort by view is set as unthreaded? I was grateful for the suggestion to use 'M' to toggle between Read & Unread status on a single message, as this DOES work to mark only one message as read! However in every other way my messages are still being treated like they are threaded even though I have set the view> sort by> as Unthreaded. Is there ANY other way to turn threading off besides the View> Sort By options? Or at least change the way Thunderbird assembles conversation threads?

As you can see they are all separate companies having nothing to do with each other, mind you they have never been part of a group conversation or subscription or anything like that. An individual email was sent out by me to only one individual contact. In my inbox #1&#2 are threaded together, email #3 stands alone, email #4 stands alone, emails #5, #6, #7 are threaded together, and emails #8, #9, #!0, #11 are threaded together.
At first I thought the word "CCR" could be causing Thunderbird to think they belong together, however as can be seen above there are several threads and all but one subject line contains the word "CCR". Also notice that emails #1, #2, #11 all have the exact same subject line and sender, and clearly they are not sorted by date... so basically I'm having trouble understanding Thunderbird's logic for threading these emails the way they are.
I guess my question "What is Thunderbird's logic?" is a two part question; part 1.) Why is Thunderbird grouping these emails the way they are? and part 2.) Can I change way Thunderbird filters a thread? Say by sender perhaps or subject line?

I have trashed preferences and I still can not get rendering to work (background or manually) or the scopes.

Why are dialog boxes acting up in Indesign CC 64-bit?

Hi. I have Windows 7. When I use the regular Indesign, it works fine, but if I try sing the 64-bit version, I cannot use my mouse on the dialog boxes - they don't respond. The only way to navigate around them is with the Tab and arrow keys.
Any ideas?

I'm confused. My original Q was:
If having my Windows text set at 150% messes up ID, bec, I can't work its dialog boxes correctly with my mouse (only, to some extent, with my keyboard), then I have to reset my WIndows text setting to 125%.
But my vision is poor, so I find 1125% a bit small.
(BTW IDCC 2014 32-Bit Edition does not have the dialog box problem. But even when Windows text is 150%, ID 32-bit's text is tiny)
Do you have any suggestions?

In Pages 5, why are page thumbnails different sizes?

So I'm using 5. And I must say I think it's brilliantly done after a long period of ******** about it. I guess I'm not asking of it anything it doesn't provide and what it does it does very well - though I'm puzzled by the behavior of selecting text via the keyboard.
Anyhow, that's not my question. I'm working with a long text document. I notice that as I work the page thumbnails become different sizes. It's subtle but it's clearly intentional. I reckon it's trying to tell me something but I don't know what. Haven't been able to find any info in the manual and was wondering if any of you clever people here might know. Thanks.

I'm not stupid. I know what a section break is, I know what a page break is. I'm a writer who has used innumerable word processing programs over the years and have been an IT worker for 10 years now.
I have a Pages document. It has no (or only one depending on your point of view), section(s). It has page breaks only. The pagination is set to start at "1" on the first page and proceed normally to the end of the document (300 or so pages). I am using Pages 5.5.2 on a brand new iMac. I have NONE of the previous or older versions/types of Pages on my computer.
The pages thumbnails on the side, do actually CHANGE SIZE randomly as I am editing the document. These differing sizes are NOT CORRELATED WITH THE BEGINNING OR ENDING OF SECTIONS. These size changes are also NOT CORRELATED WITH THE PAGE BREAKS (in case you were about to argue the similarity of page breaks and section breaks). As I work through the document and scroll up and down editing here or there, the size of the thumbnails RANDOMLY CHANGE SIZE. Sometimes this is correlated with me working on a section, sometimes I can work on a section and no change happens at all. The thumbnails that change size often change back again when I scroll back to them later on.
So please ... Try to act like a decent human being and either help out, or go away. STOP POSTING THAT WE ARE WRONG, when you DON'T in fact know we are wrong. STOP INSULTING ME by assuming I am stupid.

Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.

Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.

If the photos are those that you've synced to the device from your computer then you will need to copy the directory that they are in on your computer. If they are photos that you've copied from your device to your computer theg you can also either copy their directory, or (if they are still on it) re-copy them from the device onto the new computer (photos to computer).

Explanation - Why are IAS 9i and an RDBMS both needed ?

Why are IAS 9i and an RDBMS both needed ? After all, IAS 8I/9I does contain a "database" in it -- but Oracle calls it a "data cache" !!
Here's why ...
The IAS 8I/9I "data cache" is intended to be a "performance enhancment" mechanism to avoid network round trips to the back end rdbms (called the 'origin' database in IAS terminology) for "rarely changing" data or application code accessed/used in the IAS 8I/9I mid-tier.
The IAS "data cache" was initially extracted from rdbms 8.1.6 to use in IAS 8i (aka IAS 1.0.0 or 1.0.1) and now rdbms 8.1.7 to use in IAS 9i (formerly referred to as IAS 1.0.2).
This was because the complete architecture and functionality needed to provide the IAS 9i's "performance enhancing read only" cache functionality already exists in the oracle 8i rdbms.
(talk about o-o wanting to have high reusability !!)
How about a practical application of why would you do this ??
Think of the web site activity of a major online order system, for example, a ".com" that sells books. We can all think of the famous ones who would be ideal users of this type of design.
Most of the transaction activity in an online order system is customers "browsing" the product catalog, looking at the
descriptions of the books they might consider to buy. When a customer identifies a desired book, the customer can place an order.
This typical customer behavior looks at the description for each book which is "rarely changing" information that is normally accessed in a "read only" mode.
To improve performance for this online order system, the "rarely changing" information can be stored (or "cached") on the mid-tier in IAS 8i/9i's "data cache".
How do this improve performance ??
With the information available in the mid-tier "data cache", network roundtrips by IAS 8i/9I applications to the 'origin' rdbms are avoided, reducing the workload on the network and the 'origin' rdbms.
Why do i still need a back-end or 'origin' rdbms along with ias 9i ?
You still need the 'origin" database as the "master repository" for your books, their inventory system, and orders placed with your business.
You also have the other necessary business systems they may or may not take advantage of the IAS design -- like shipping, payroll, Human Resources, etc.
What happens if the data changes ?
I kept repeating "read only" -- so - the next question is what do you do with "new or changing" data - like placing an order or updating the inventory ?
Since the "master copy" of the information is retained on the origin rdbms, then all changes will occur there.
When a new book is added or an existing book's information is updated or a book is dropped from the inventory, these changes are applied to the origin database.
This information is then "refreshed" on the IAS 8I/9I "data cache" using the "management policies" available within IAS 8I/9I.
These policies controls how and when to "refresh" the IAS 8I/9I data cache.

The term "database" has a lot of extra functions with it that are not in IAS 8i/9i!!
for example, most RDBMS's have :
1) updateable tables, etc.
2) backup and recovery of data requirements
3) etc.
That's what makes the EJE in IAS different from an RDBMS -- the extra rdbms functrions are not needed...
That's why I think of it as a "Java Code Container" that holds the Oracle Enterprise Java Engine(EJE) in it. I was stuck on this also - now i can mentally exclude all of that extra functionality by calling it a "java code container" and not thinking of it as a "database".
Since Oracle JVM is the common Java environment for both the Oracle database and Oracle9i AS,...'.

i think the term "database" in the literature is being used to emphasize where it came from (stable oracle 8i -- as opposed to totally new technology)
but
i personally think the term "database" implies to many people, it is a "fully functional rdbms" ... so they assume they don't need a back end -- or in ias terms -- an 'origin' rdbms.
However -- i think this is where the confusion is ..
as people understand the differences between ias and rdbms, they soon realize they must have an rdbms.
However, the administrative instructions (that deal with setting up OSE) seem to point that the JVM is in a database.
don -- right -- it is a "stripped down" database or a a "Java Code Container" as i call it.
you still need to deploy the java code (servlets, jsp's, ejb's, corba, and java stored procs) to it.
The command line functions that you use to do that with the 8.1.7 rdbms -- still apply.
Commands like :

Note :
Obviously ias 8i "EJE" or ORACLE 8i JVM (the old name), is based upon the rdbms 816 functions (no OSE in it), so you can't deploy servlets and jsp's to the ias 8i EJE just like you can't to the 816 rdbms.
I do find this subject (where is the JVM located) very confusing.

keep in mind from a java perspective -- the EJE is a "Stripped down" database that acts like a java code container that you connect to -- just like in 817 --- so you can deploy your code to it.
it's also a jvm -- and you execute your deployed java code in it -- just like in 817.

I re-joined BT last December on a BT Business Oneplan. I am self-employed and work from home. The deal was too good to resist £73.35 per month inclusive (this includes line rental and braodband) except mobile calls abroad . I paid online monthly at first and everything was going OK until I was asked if I wanted to pay quarterly. Big mistake. I received a bill for £845. On 7 June 2010 I wrote to the BT Correspondence Centre in Durham asking for an explanation and have not had the courtesy of a reply. I then received another bill for £845 at the end of June and could get no explanation from BT Billing. On 11 August I was cut off. As I was going on holiday first thing on 12 August I started my holiday by have a stressful conversation with BT. They reconnected me. Said they would sort things out. Big joke. Since then I have been phoned three or four times by a lady in India. I cannot understand her accent and she speaks very quickly.
I am self-emmployed and have spent hours and hours trying to sort this out. To whom at BT do I send my invoice for lost time?

Why are BT so useless the problems I have endured with this company over the past 5 years i really and truly loathe them and it just never ever improves . for example
1. Left without Broadband for 6 months it finally took an Engineer 5 minutes at the local exchange to fix
2. Spray painted my house started legal action as they refused to accept liability 3 foot BT was sprayed on front of my house had to get a graffitti removal company to remove . no compensation

Up until feb this year had a line speed of less than 0.5 meg despite numerous phonecalls requesting compensation for all the time I was paying for a service which was supposed to be at least 2mb nothing ever came of it . Having been meaning to report to Oftel and this is a breach of the sales of goods act but as 4 members of my immediate family have all died recently it has gone on the backburner but im now on it again AND I WILL get compensated and not the insult of 10 pounds that was offered .
4. Latest farce with BT i have not heard and phone calls for past two weeks soo assumed my 6 month old telephone (BT's) were to blame as the phone worked just no ringing for incoming calls . Purchased new phones at cost of £129.99 and still same problem . Placed a fault call engineer came out and confirmed that it was the Router that was in fact at fault and apologised but as it was not the voice that was at fault I would receive a charge for his visit and please call broadband for a new router. Being trying to get a new router for 6 months now but had given up but tried again today 3 hours on the phone finally got one ordered checked the order and it was not even going to be delivered to my address (despite the girl requesting i can confirmed my address same as my billing ) !! another painful call to correct that and maybe i might finally get a new Router and maybe get a service that i pay for . I cannot even begin to start the dread and loathing i have when I have a problem with BT as the pain is so immense I just wish I could use another provider but unfortunately due to where i live this is not an option .Every time i have a problem BT continues to take take money and no offer of compensation is ever forth coming and even when I ask for it and i am entitled to it you are met by a brick wall of Indian call centres and pointless beaucracy hours on the phone all designed to stop us the consumer exercising their rights . My advise to anyone who has the issues with this company is take it all the way to Oftel document your complaints in absolute detail and if enough of us complain then the massive fines imposed willl strip this disgrace of a company of its profits and may maybe they might start treating us with the respect customers deserve

Why are so many movies available in high def for ipad, but not for imac?

ok. another question, why are so many itunes rentals and movies unavailable in high def for rent or buy on an imac? i have a 27 inch imac. and an ipad, and it's funny, it will let me rent a high def video on the ipad, but not on the imac. it's wierd, i don't get it, because there are movies i would rent or buy on my imac, that i'm not going to buy now because of this.

It depends on the contract w/the distribution company. Lionsgate for example has licensed their movies for resale on iTunes, not rental. Paramount allows some movies to be sold(not sure which ones and why) and others for rental, but the standard rental agreement between Apple and the movie studios is that rents will not be available for 30 days after the DVD is released.
Edit: Well, looking at the AppleTV site it looks like Lionsgate allows rentals also now, but there may be terms in the contract which say which movies can be bought/rented.

Under other "sync-able" players, there's usually the "Sync only checked items" radio button. Not for the 2.0 Apple TV. There's no option, but acts as though that option ("sync only, etc...") has been selected. Figured it out after an hour of walking back and forth from my Mac to the TV. Argh.
Try it. De-select the shows, sync the AppleTV and look under the "TV Shows" and the one's you've unchecked will not be there.

Are you saying when your on a phone call and someone else calls you it does what exactly? Disconnect your current call with the new call?
