Why are my security questions in German

My store is uk and am temporarily in Germany. On the last apple update it has set my security questions to German and I can't see how to change it.
Also how do I edit my birthday on Apple ID?

Well, I got the same wonderful letter and called Apple nontech support because my computer is  4 years old so I'd have to pay Apple to tell them they messed up!
Fortunately on the 2nd call I got a Senior Adviser (first level folks know only basics so I usually ask for a manager or supervisor).  In fact, I was told by 1st guy there were no managers, but then later he went to get someone and the phone went dead. Thankfully person 2 'Sterling' told me he would ask a Senior Adviser (so now I have another word to use for person above).  I asked given this issues importance to talk directly to the Senior Adviser and was allowed.
Sterling (yes the adviser's name was the same as the tel answerer) said that Apple has been updating security questions, and from what he could tell, since I could log in that it was likely a glitch in their reworking security questions that caused this trouble.  He got me into my account by asking other questions which hadn't changed (last 4 of credit card, address), and I got in with my old password.
So it could be a case of Apple messing up their own information.  They are setting some security questions as standard and you have to choose to make your own if you want.  They guessed my answers wrong by this theory.  I am still not 100% as sure as Sterling is that it was an inside job, and will be careful to watch my American Express Card since it's tied to my account as my boys wanted small items at iTunes.  May small not turn to big :-)   So you may have to call Apple to get things reset. Hope this helps.
Warmly, Yamasen

  • Why have my security questions changed?

I received an email from apple today saying my security questions were updated. I did not do this. I immediately changed my password for my apple ID as a result. However, I cannot change my apple security questions and answers. I truly don't remember ever posting security questions and answers. How do I get help?

  • Why have the security questions have become mandatory?

It used to be  possible to ignore to setting up of the security questions. Now it has become mandatory. I believe security questions are outdated and a step back in security. Searching the internet or using social enginering the answers to these standard questions may be found and your apple id hijacked.
Since your apple id is also used in financial transactions, e.g. purchases, this is a bad idea.
Please stop making security questions mandatory!

I can remember the fake answers I gave. It's not that difficult. But your memory skills may differ. If you don't think you can remember something totally fake, you can just put in an extra strange character somewhere in an otherwise real name in an easy-to-remember pattern, such as always putting in an exclamation point after the third character of whatever answer you provide. That would make it almost impossible for someone to get the data, unless you blab about the scheme to someone, but still be easy for you to remember. There are also highly security password/note utilities where you can keep your answers available but still protected.
About social enginering, if someone asks me for a password they won't get it. If they are in a conversation ask me about my first pet or first crush I might answere them
Then don't use the real information.
In any case, right now those security questions are mandatory. You have the feedback link through which you can offer alternate suggestions to Apple.
    Regards.

  • HT4009 I don't know how to download my first purchased app cuz there are some security questions

I can't find out my answers for my security question  it's like I don't rember

Click here for information. If the option to have the answers emailed to you isn't available or doesn't work(the email may take a few hours to arrive), contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in the 'Additional Information' section of that article.
Nobody on these boards can reset them for you.

  • Why do you have these obscure security questions

why are these security questions asked before one can get into their own ipad2:
    1. FAVORITE Make of a car
    2. Where were you on 2000?
    3. Favorite childhood name?
These are three questions that are very hard to remember, especially when they don't work half of the time when you actually try to answer them.
Can't you make the security questions your "own" questions, instead of going to a apple support document to where they are posted as part of the whole security process? The answers to these security questions arent the answers I tried or would remember anyway.
Then you get locked out of the whole password process for a day before you can get in to ask you the same questions all over again? Dumb.Really dumb!!!!

i have tried, what i thought was answering my security questions (according to itunes security questions) and filled the answers as best as i could, but now i can't even get past my birthdate either. I know what my birthdate is, but apparently it doesnt recognize me there either. i dont know what i can do to help me get past my birthdate and on to normal security questions. i have tried to answer these questions and after two or three times, have now been locked out again, for another 8 hours! !!!!
This is  very unacceptable to me. Is there anyone out there that has had this same problem and has figured out what to do to get around this 8 hour denial time limit and on to logging onto my own ipad2.

  • WHY ARE SECURITY QUESTIONS ,THAT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED BEFORE,NEEDED TO DOWNLOAD CONTENT FROM ITUNES ?

IV'E TRIED THIS EVENING TO DOWNLOAD A SONG FROM ITUNES AND SECURITY QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED BEFORE ARE NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE DOWNLOAD. WHY?

The security questions have been added to provide additional security for iTunes Store accounts. You will need to set up the questions and answers now, and provide those answers from time to time.
    Regards.
Forum Tip: It is generally considered inappropriate to type all in uppercase letters in Internet discussions, as text that is typed all in uppercase is by convention considered to be shouting.  Uppercase is also more difficult to read, so please use all uppercase sparingly and only when you really mean to shout, which we hope you won’t need to do here .

  • Security question for Apple ID

Why would the security question for Apple ID be different to those I answered when I set up the account.

You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.
Whichever method you use, you probably won't get a response until the 26th. If you absolutely must make a purchase before then, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.

  • Account hacked; rescue address and security questions changed

what recourse do i have to fix this? i haven't used my account in ages, since i moved away from iphone. i just signed back in to update my mac, and all my info has been changed. what can i do and where do i start? the rescue address is changed and so are my security questions.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • I can't use my security questions I tried to reset it but there is no rest link. I have tried this like 4times and my email to rest it is there idk what to do about it I just wanna know how to fix it?

why does my security question not have the rest link? I have my email there but it won't let me and I have tried 4 times already. Help?!?

Because you didn't previously set up a rescue email address; this isn't the same as an alternate email address. Creating one requires supplying two of the answers.
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

  • HT201303 I cannot access my account as I do not remember any of the answers to the security questions??what shall i do??

Hi everyone, I cannot access my itunes account fully as I cannot answer the security questions as I do not remember any of the answers, there are 3 security questions and I need some advice on  how to reset these questions as I have credit on my account which I need to use but cannot at the moment due to the security questions not being answered, please help..............................

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address then see if the instructions on this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
