Why are my songs not numbered?

why are my songs not numbered?

Hi,
In advance preferences, you can tell iTunes how to organise your library. Tick  keep iTunes organised and copy files to iTunes media folder.
If this I has already been done, you may need to add track numbers from get info.

Where exactly are you looking and what do they look like, there are several iCloud icons used in iTunes.

  • Why are some songs not fully downloading?

Most of the songs that I've downloaded lately are not playing fully. They're stopping less than halfway through and skipping to the next song. I know this is happening to others also, is there any way I can fix this? It's rather unfair, since my mum has payed for all these songs, yet there's no point even buying them if I can't listen and enjoy them. Thus, I was wondering is there anything I can do, or must it be repaired by iTunes? Also, have iTunes aknowledged this problem? Thanks!

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player or another media player?  If it does then it is an iTunes issue.  If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.  If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773

Incomplete playback seems to be reported several times a day here.  I don't recall this happening before iTunes 10. I would suggest posting feedback to Apple so they aware of an issue.

  • Why are my songs not in the specified alphabetic range?, Why are my songs not in the specified alphabetic range?

I synced my songs from the iTunes and I noticed that the songs in the music list were not contained in their alphabetic range. For example a song starting with h was overflowing into I. And so on. Please let me know if I am missing out something here.
    Thanks in advance.

Everything is normal. Probably something to do with ios 5. Had an iPhone that was synced from the sakes iTunes library. That never had any problems. That was iOS 4.3.5. Thanks for the quick replies James.
It is worth noting that Apple scaled back the Music App (formerly know as iPod app, I believe) in iOS 5. It was simplified and some functionality was removed, although why is unknown). It will look and behave differently than what you experienced in early versions.

  • Why are certain songs not being transferred completely?

I believe it's mostly the songs I've transferred to the hardrive of my computer that are being lost in transferring to my ipod.  I've downloaded a new version of Itunes, erased the old copy, restored my ipod, & traded one ipod in for another of the same, Classic ipod.  And it's still happening,  I believe it's my computer that's the problem.  I'm still running windows Vista Home Premium On my PC.  So I'm probably due for a new one.  Unless you guys have an answer for me.  Thanks, Paul

, just not sure how Itunes will run in a windows pc to begin with.
Not sure what you mean here.
If the problem persisted across multiple iPods, that indicates an issue with the downloaded tracks that you synced to the device. Try removing/deleting these tracks from your iTunes library and PC and re-importing and/or redownloading them from iTunes (it won't cost you anything).

    - For the X-ray problem go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn off White on Black
    - For the syncing problem make sure that you have the right boxes checked for the syncing mode you are using. See:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
    - Is the iPod signed into the iTunes account that purchased the music?
    - Was the iPod previously synced to another computer?

  • Why are my songs not showing up?

I have turned on itunes match on all my devices.  However, songs that are on my PC and Macbook are not showing up on my ipod Touch, ipad, or ipad mini.  Any ideas?  For example, on both the PC and Macbook, I have 65 songs from one artist, but on the mobile devices, they are only showing 13 of them.

Greyed out songs can mean a few things, though usually items that havne't fully synced yet.
Can you make sure you have iTM turned ON with your Touch? And missing elements often means the user has forgot to enable "Show All" under the "On" switch.

  • Why are some songs not available in the U.S. iTunes Store?

There is a song called "The Moment I Knew" by Taylor Swift. I want to get it off of the U.S. iTunes Store, but it's only available as a ringtone, not a song. And the weirdest thing is that the song is available in other countries along with the Deluxe Edition of Red, but in the U.S., Taylor Swift usually releases the bonus tracks as singles. I need to know!!!

It is not currently available in the US Store. So, you won't be able to get it via iTunes. You can purchase the Red Deluxe CDs at Target, which has the song on them.

  • Why are some songs not available for ringtones?

I had a ringtone on my old RAZR phone and loved it. I would like to make it my ringtone on my Iphone. The song is available in Itunes and I saw another post that said some songs even though they don't have a "bell" in the ringtone column can still be made into ringtones. I have the CD, but I downloaded the song anyway and it tells me that song is no longer available for ringtones. How do I go about asking Apple/Itunes to make it available again?

Best thing is to call Apple Support in your country, and/or to post your feedback at:

    Cheers.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I can't remember exactly what I did. I do know that when I started it up, I couldn't find the Setup Assistant on the hard drive,
No, once a user has been created, you can't run Setup Assistant  (without erasing and reinstalling).
What do you recommend for fixing this?
    Here's what's happened:
When you first start up a Mac and create the first user account, OSX assigns it UID (User ID) #501.  The next one gets #502, etc.  Those UIDs (not the user name) are what control permission to files.
You can see those numbers via System Prefs > Users & Groups;  click the padlock and enter your Admin password, then select an account and right-click it, and select Advanced Options.  Do not change anything on that window.
So . . . assume your old iMac had a user 501 with the data you want; it's identified that way on the backups.
When the Apple Store started up your new Mac, and created their account, it became #501.
When you used Migration Assistant to transfer the 501 account from the iMac's backups, OSX copied everything there "as is" except it had to change the 501 to 502.
The new 502 account has all the right permissions to things now in it's home folder, but the backups belong to user 501.
Have you added much to the Mac since you did the migration?  Have you done any new backups?  If not, while it's a bit of a hassle, one fix would be to create yet another user account temporarily.  Make it an Admin account.  Log on to it and delete all the other accounts.  Then migrate the accounts from your backups; this time there won't be a conflict, so OSX won't have to change the UUID(s).
But if you have done new backups, this won't work, since Migration Assistant automatically uses the most recent backup.  There's a way around that, but it's a bit (or more) tedious.
    Clear as mud?

  • Why are the songs in my iphone playlists grey and I can't move them.

Why are the songs in my iPhone playlists grayed out.  I am unable to move and organize them.  I just downloaded some audio books from Audible and I cannot moved them to a playlist on my iPhone either.  What step am I missing?

So, if I haven't made any albums, I can't move pictures in the main window of the Organizer?
Yes, you can't. The default order in the main window is based on date, ascending or descending when you are in the standard 'thumbnail view'. If you are in 'folder' view, with your folders shown in the left panel, you are shown the pictures in alphabetical order of the file names.
    I haven't created albums yet.
I have so many pictures. I wanted to put all the pictures for each album next to each other so I can find them easily.
It's not difficult to create albums and 'drag' pictures in it. When an album is selected, you can move your pictures around in any order in the main window panel.
Albums are one way of grouping and ordering pictures. You should try to use keywords to organize and retrieve your pictures.
