Why are numbers appearing that aren't in my contacts?

When I start to type a name in the 'To' box while composing an SMS, my iPhone shows a drop down list of suggested numbers/contacts. One particular name triggers a contact that I have deleted. I cannot find it in the Contacts app at all when I check so I don't know what's going on.

The phone stores every single email adresses you typed previously even if these emails are not related to any of your contacts. This is handy when typing an adress so your iphone can suggest it and all you have to do is to select the suggested adress. But after some time the phone deletes them. I don't remember if it's after 30 days - 60 days - 90 days but the ones you never use will end up deleted after some time.

I apologize. I didn't see that you hadn't updated to iOS 7. That's an iOS 7 option. With iOS 6, you'd need to restore the device as new. Note that that will result in your phone being updated to iOS 7.

Why are certain videos that I have taken with my iPhone not supported by Aperture? That's weird. I expect that since both iPhone and Aperture are Apple products, file support should be seamless between the two.
Also, iPhone 4 does not appear as Camera Model in the metadata of the unsupported video file in Aperture . But other videos I have taken with the same iPhone 4 appear in Aperture and the Camera Model appears correctly. Why is that?

Have you done some cleaning and cleared caches on your Mac? Maybe the com.apple.xpchelper.cache file is missing. Check the folder /System/Library/Caches/

If this file should be missing, you need to restore it from a backup or reinstall it by reinstalling your system.

Why are some apps that I bought not on my purchased items on my itunes account? I bought 4 apps, then had to reset my iPad, later when trying to download them back onto the iPad, they were not listed under by Purchased apps in my account in iTunes. Thanks for any help!

Plug in your iPhone to iTunes on your Computer, let it sync the games onto the Computer, then plug in your iPad and go to Apps in iTunes and select the apps then apply and it will download them to the iPad :)
If you have trouble when in Apps in iTunes on your Computer, it will say iPhone and iPod touch Apps. Hope this helps!!

Why are the songs that I uploaded to the iCloud always graying out?

I've uploaded 14,000 songs to the Cloud. Now most are grayed out. Sometimes they show up and sometimes they don't. This happens on my MacBook as well as my iPhone 6. I'm signed in so that isn't the issue.
Also, why did the iCloud delete a whole bunch of my uploads? These were CDs like Tool and a few collector's songs that aren't in general release?

Why does it appear that photostream is using up space on my devices?

On all of my devices, when I look under the Usage>Photos it shows that there is space being taken up by photostream even though photostream is turned off on all devices and the pictures have been erased. Is it really using space on my device or does it appear that way?

How much is being used?
Id significant:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Why are my applications that are assigned to specific desktops randomly rearranging themselves on other desktops?

I'm on a late 2013 Retina 13" MacBook Pro running OS X Mavericks Version 10.9.4 and for some reason most of my applications assigned to specific desktops are rearranging themselves to other desktops.
For example, I've created eight desktops. I've assigned Safari to appear on desktop three. While using Safari, when I swipe once from to left between desktops using my three fingers, I end up on desktop seven. It appears that Safari automatically reassigns it's self on desktop six. I swipe back to desktop three. From the dock, I find Safari and do a right click to have the application menu pop-up, I hover over options and assign Safari to "This Desktop" again. I begin using Safari, and if I'm unlucky, and I swipe from left to right I end up on desktop four.
This happens constantly and it's become annoying. Is this a bug?
For work, I use a late 2008 Non-Retina 15" MacBook Pro running OS X Mavericks Version 10.9.4 and that laptop has no issues.

Right click (cntl click) the icon on the dock. Select options and set "assign to" None, All or This desktop.

I am wondering why the card games that I play for free on my iPhone and iPad (and PC as well) are not free for my Mac through iTunes? It makes no sense. I have a new 13" apple macbook pro laptop running yosemite.

iTunes does not sell anything for your Mac.
You would have to buy apps from the Mac Apps store for your Mac.
They may differ in price, because they are not the same thing. One is an iOS app, then other is a computer app.
The maker of the app can choose what to charge for and what not to charge for. It could be that one contains ads and the other does not.
At the end of the day, then maker of the apps decides what to charge or if to charge.

Why are the texts that I receive from others (with apple products) grey in my message screen?

Why are the received texts in my messaging gray?? The ones I send are blue. My rec'd texts used to be green before ios7. Is this normal??

Those may be iMessages.
If you send normal messages those will be in green color.

Does anyone know how to recover deleted contacts? For some reason contacts with only phone numbers have been deleted the rest of my contacts are there. It appears that I only have the contacts on my phone that i have on my laptop.

Does anyone know how to recover contacts that have been gone missing or have been deleted somehow. The contacts that are missing are the ones where I only had phone numbers (no email address). The ones where I have both phone numbers and email addresses are ok. They are the same ones I have on my laptop. I dont know what I did to cause the ones with phone number only to disappear.

I know the importance of saving and updating your contacts. What type of phone do you have? If you are using Backup Assistant, you have the ability to sync the contacts between your laptop and phone. You will also be able to see if all your contacts are stored on the online portion of the application versus the phone itself. The contacts should be the same for both online and the phone.

Why are apps appearing in my music folder?

Just wondering if I can delete these ".IPA" (iOS App) files and .XML files that have appeared in my Music folder. I'm on a PC, so the files are assigned to iTunes, but I still don't know why they're here. I think they appeared after I synced my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) with the computer. There's also over 300 "ITC2" files which I have no clue about. All the app files are apps I have on my iPod, so that much makes sense, and some of the "ITC2" files are the same name as the 2 books I have on my iPod. All the others are just things like "4C9515F643471A36-D9A5A87B5F4A4EDF.ITC2". I just want to know if I can delete them really.

I can't tell exactly what you did when you connected your device but it looks like you allowed iTunes to transfer your purchases into your library. This is a good thing. If your iPod was lost, stolen or damaged, you would have the files needed to rebuild your setup on a replacement device.
The iTunes folder is normally created inside your profile's Music folder, with the iTunes Media folder inside iTunes. If the files in question are appearing outside of the normal folder structure outlined above then perhaps you have the wrong setting for the media folder.

Why are numbered steps displaying as bullets in FlashHelp?

I'm using TCS3 and have imported my Help contect from FrameMaker.
Some of my topics that have numbered steps are displaying as bullets in the generated FlashHelp. This is not consistently happening to all of my topics.
Any ideas why this would be happening?

I'm responding to my own post to add that the numbered steps display just fine in the preview. While I understand that there can be a difference in how the preview looks and what FlashHelp looks like, I wouldn't think it would be as drastic as changing numbered steps to bullets.
Here are the sections of the CSS that I think apply to the ordered lists:

Why are songs appearing in my pictures on my laptop after syncing

I have had my iphone 5 since March this year. I have never had trouble with my syncing with either until itunes did a recent update. Since then every time I sync my iphone to either icloud or my laptop, all sorts of music from my itunes library ends up amongst my photographs in my pictures library on my laptop. It appears the more I play on that day the more appear on my laptop. Its getting to the point where it is taking up a lot of space and i have noticed that even as far back as last October, there are now music/itunes files within my photos - that never used to happen!!! It takes an eternity to delete them all and I am getting a tad frustrated!! Any ideas anyone??? Cheers

The security questions have been added to provide additional security for iTunes Store accounts. You will need to set up the questions and answers now, and provide those answers from time to time.

Why does it appear that mi ipad mini Appleid is now in use and I can not activate iMessage or FaceTime?

When I try yo activate my Apple id for face time or iMessage I can not do ir. It says that the Apple id is now in use, ADN that its imposible yo validate.

Is it possible the you are mistakenly trying to create a new account using the existing ID? That would result in the error you describe.
Tell us exacly what you are doing to activate your ID for facetime or iMessage. What is the process?
