• Why are my bookmarks disappearing then reappearing hours to days later?

I have an iPhone 4S. After updating to iOS 6.0.1, my Safari bookmarks disappeared. They reappeared, but they continue to disappear. They'll comeback at random times - sometime hours, sometimes days later. Anyone experience this and/or know the solution? Thanks!

Interesting never noticed that before.
The pins on the images in the film strip are toggled on and off by the menu item Show Place badges, under the gear,
Why that is toggled on when you select an image, view it and drop back to film strip mode is unknown. Doesn't seem to be a use for it. If the badges are a problem you can toggle them off by going to this menu. If you need them on before going to view mode you can toggle them on here.
You could report this to Apple Aperture->Provide Aperture Feedback as a bug.

• Why are Safari bookmarks taking the place of Firefox bookmarks on my Macbook.

I installed Mozilla Firefox on my Macbook. My Safari bookmarks have populated where my Firefox bookmarks should be and my Sync account exports no Firefox bookmarks. Can anyone help me with this problem? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Still the Safari bookmarks and Sync is doing nothing.

As soon as I submitted this question, I noticed the Firefox bookmarks toolbar was suddenly populated my Safari bookmarks from my Macbook Air. The Sync account on my Mac had exported my Safari bookmarks to my Desktop PC. I freaked out and then restored my bookmarks from >Library>Import and Backup. I have close to 1000 bookmarks that I have saved. I am moving and need to pack away my PC and I will only have use of my Macbook. And I rely heavily on my Firefox bookmarks for research. Thank you anyone for helping me figure out why my Safari bookmarks have overrode my Firefox Sync account and toolbar.

• Why are my bookmarks disappearing?

Recently when I reset Safari all my bookmarks disappear. This hasn't happened until the last three times I've reset Safari. In the past, when I did a reset, my bookmarks stay tho the history, caches and downloads are deleted. I would like to keep my bookmarks, any help?

Hello! Try repairing permissions in apps>utilities>disk utility>repair permissions then restart and see if next time the bookmarks stay put. Also you could use SafariBookmarkExporter to save a copy. Tom

• Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally on my ipad mini if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

They should be. If you have lost bookmarks try restarting Safari:
1. Press the Home button
2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
3. Touch and hold on the Safari icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
4. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari.
5. Restart Safari and see if your Bookmarks are back.

My safari bookmarks disappeared. How do I get them back?

Quit Safari completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Safari icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that didn't work - try this. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Why has Safari suddenly disappeared from my iPhone?

It is not possible to delete Safari, it may have moved to a different screen. Do a search for the app or you can click on your settings>general>reset then select reset home screen layout.

• Why does my bookmarks disappear so fast when I try to find one I want to use

Question
Why does my bookmarks disappear so fast when I try to find one I want to use

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• Are Safari bookmarks saved anywhere else besides Icloud

Are Safari bookmarks backed up anywhere else besides Icloud
I was moving bookmarks around tonight trying to orgize a bunch in different places and a hole folder with several sub folders dispeared out of no where.
I do use time machine as a backup. Would Sarafri have a seprate book mark folder anywhere
Can anyone suggest anything at all to try and get this back?
any help is greatly apprechated

Well said.
You don't go chasing through the backup folders, you look at the current version of what you want restored, then Open Time machine right on top of it. the presentation changes to the "Star Wars" view of that window, receding in time.

Go to Preferences, and then into ClipboardHandling. Click a radio button choice for All Information instead of Text Only.

• I don't use sync and am not signed in? Why are my bookmarks syncing?

My office computer has one set of bookmarks I use at work. My home PC has another, different set of bookmarks that I use at home. I don't use sync and am not signed into sync on either PC. Why are my bookmarks syncing between the two PCs? For instance, I noticed several bookmarks near the top of my bookmark menu above a separator line that I do not use at work. I deleted them. I get home and find those same bookmarks gone from my home PC. I don't want to sync anything between the two computers, why is this happening?

Perhaps an add-on is syncing these for you.
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
# Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!
Thank you.

• Are your bookmarks disappearing when you add a new one in Safari?

When I add a new bookmark many of the old ones just disappear!
I have recovered my archived bookmarks from Time Machine but the minute I go to add a new bookmark, many disappear again!
HELP please!!!!
Anyone else experiencing this???

Quit Safari. Disable Safari synchronization in iCloud, if applicable.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar. Copy the following line into the text box that opens, then press return:
~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the Finder window open. Relaunch Safari. Select File ▹ Import Bookmarks from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Test. If Safari now performs normally, you can delete the old bookmarks file. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put back the file you moved, replacing the newer one with the same name. Close the Finder window and post again.

• Safari Bookmarks Disappearing

My Safari Bookmarks keep disappearing every few days. I know how to recover them from Time Machine but it is really annoying having to do it repeatedly. It has only happened since I moved from Mobile Me to iCloud.
Any ideas why this is happening?

I have an iMac, Macbook , iPad and iPhone.
Right now the contents of the Bookmarks Bar on the iMac and iPad have disappeared, but they are still visible on my iPhone.
The same thing happened last week. To solve it I turned off the Bookmark syncing in iCloud Preferences on all devices. I then deleted the bookmarks on all devices, restored the Bookmarks from Time Machine on the iMac and switched Bookmark syncing ON on all devices.
This worked for about 6 days and now it has happened again.
Do you have any idead what could be causing it?

• My safari bookmarks disappeared. How do I find them again?

• Why are my screensavers disappearing in Lion?

Why are my screen-savers disappearing in Lion? Word of the day -- gone! Is there anyway to get them back or do I have to wait until Apple offers a fix?

The very same thing happened to me. I was an early adopter of Lion and haven't had a single issue with it -- until yesterday. I haven't shut down, I haven't installed any new updates, I haven't manually deleted anything. It has all been "business as usual" then my laptop's screensaver turned on and had a black background with simply the words "word of the day" scrolling across the screen. My screensaver turns on multiple times per day so this isn't just something that went unnnoticed. Now the only options I have are "flurry" and "computer name" -- no thanks!
