Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width?

Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width? I am positive i has all the settings correct, to have an image parallax scroll from the edge of the page into the page and out again. But the images are flying in from the browser width - not the page width. This is not the effect I am after.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Given the key position is only linked to the height, I can't for the life of me work out how to ensure the images start moving from a certain position onthe left and right of the page.

I think the effect you are seeing is a result of how the lineHeight is set up. By default, the lineHeight will be calculated as 120% of the size of the largest thing on the line -- in your case, this is the inline graphic. This is designed to leave space between the line before and the line with the graphic. So it is taking the height of the graphic, multiplying by 120%, and making this the distance between the previous line and the line with the graphic. So the bigger the graphic, the bigger the space above the graphic. Normally this works well with text, but in this case you may want to get closer to "set solid". You can do this by setting the lineHeight to 100%. Or you may wish to leave a couple of percent for the descenders of the previous line. Or, another alternative that may work well for you if you really know exactly where you want the line set, you could measure the graphic, add on the number of extra pixels to leave for the descenders, and make the lineHeight a constant. So you could do something like this:

Obviously you would still need to specify the source and any other parameters you want on the image.
Note that if you are trying to fit a 200 pixel high graphic into a 200 pixel high container, you will hit the same problem -- in order to fit the graphic, the container will have to be slightly bigger than the graphic in order to fit the descenders on the last line. This is true even if the last line contains only the graphic, and no descenders (or text) at all.

My suggested workaround: In Acrobat Pro, in the Page Thumbnails pane, select the pages that you want to replace then right click and select "Delete pages". Then, right-click the page just ahead of where the replacement pages will go, select "Insert pages", and follow the prompts. This is just the way I do it, not the only way.
Tiger26 is making the excellent suggestion that, prior to inserting pages, encapsulate the tags for the pages to be inserted using a Section tag. This makes the post-insertion chore of dragging the tags to their proper place in the tag structure easier.

Why are my radio buttons not renaming in pages spawned from a hidden template?

Hi Everyone,
I am new to PDF forms, and have never before tried to use JavaScripts. However, I have been able to learn a lot and I have followed many threads and have almost accomplished what I want, but have hit a block. I don't understand the JavaScript well enough to locate my problem. Your help is greatly appreciated.
SYSTEM SPECS: Adobe Acrobat X Pro Mac OS 10.8.5
WHAT I WANT: To create a multi-page (100 pages) form for grading student assignments. Each page must have the same fields, but as each page belongs to a new student, it needs to have different values in the fields on different pages. Each page has 4 questions to score, with 4 score possibilities for each question (0, 1, 2, 3 points), and so only one score should be able to be selected per question.
WHAT I HAVE DONE, following the directions on this thread (Re: Multiple pages form) ):
1) Created a form with a field for student name and 4 sets of radio buttons (Labeled Questions 1-4, with score choices 0-3).
2) Placed a button at the bottom of the page that will spawn a new page and rename fields.
3) Defined this page as a template.
4) Spawned a page.
5) Made the template "hidden."
THE PROBLEM: Steps 1-4 above work perfectly--as long as the template (named "Form") is visible, when I click the button, a new page generates and the student name field renames the fields on Page 2 to "P2.Form.Student ID #" and the radio buttons rename to "P2.Form.Question 1" etc. Each time I press the button, it renames everything appropriately.
However, if I hide the template, then when I click the button on page 1, the fields on Page 2 are renamed to "P1.Form.StudentID ##1." AND THE RADIO BUTTONS DO NOT RENAME. They get the name "P1.Form.Question 1" etc. So the student name field did rename in a way that allows me to enter a new name on each page, but it isn't actually reflecting that I am on page 2, and as for the radio buttons, at that point, I cannot enter different scores on different pages because they are all part of the same radio button grouping.
If I use check boxes, they rename similarly to the student ID field, but I don't want to use check boxes because I want to return one possible score value for each question for tabulating the data. I don't want to leave the template visible because when I distribute this form to other graders, they may enter values into the template page without realizing it, and then when the spawn forms they will have wrong data already entered.
Here is the script that I have set as the button's Mouse Up script:

If you have the time, would you be able to tell me how to do that? I tried just changing the page number of the template page to zero, but I get the error "Please enter a starting value of at least 1." I definitely noticed that all of the discussions about similar subject do all say to somehow put the first page of the form before the template and then hide the template, but I don't think that I know how to do that. I read your response on this discussion "Re: Self replicating form pages in Acrobat Pro 9 (Win XP)" before I ever started this discussion, but have to admit that I can't figure out how to follow your advice "When I create a from that uses a template, I create the template and then spawn the 1st page of the form before the template and then work out the scripting for the 1st page and template and then hide the template."

Why are many files in Keynote, Pages and Numbers not opening? I have re-downloaded the apps but with no joy!

Strange. The photos that don't display in Aperture will still display in iPhoto but when I view the info the file doesn't show resolution information only for those problematic photos
Files sizes are almost all jpeg. Once I reference the file in iPhoto, the master displayed resolution for the photo within finder. The photo's original file also opened in preview and photoshop.

Why are security headers not visible when viewing "sent" mail for mail sent with S/MIME certificates?

I am using an S/MIME certificate to sign my emails using Mail on Mountain Lion 10.8.2. I have a trusted S/MIME certificate for each of my email accounts. The certs and private keys are properly installed in the keychain. I am able to successfully send signed (and optionality encrypted) email and the recipients are all all receiving the emails showing a trusted signed email without having to acknowledge or trust the signature. So technically the certificates are working. Obviously the encryption option is only offered when I also have the recipients certficate in my keychain.
What I am noticing is that when I look in my sent items - (regardless of which email I used as the "sender") - I don't see any indication in the mail headers that the mail was sent with a signed certificate - even though I know the recipient is seeing that the mail is signed with a cert. I have no way of telling whether I sent the mail as "signed" or "unsiged". The default is to use the certificate for all outbound emails - unless I specifically uncheck the secure signing option before sending. In mail that I recieve - sent from others with certs or sent from one of my email accounts to the other - I see the the certificate indication in the email header.
On rare occasion - I do see the certificate when viewing sent mail - but only for random sent mails - and so far I believe I have only seen the certificate show up in mail that is sent from my iCloud account. I can send subsequent mail from iCloud - and still not see the certificate in the sent items.
Why am I not seeing the Security Header showing the certificate when viewing mail that I have sent in my sent items folder? Is there some setting that I am not seeing that controls this - or is this a bug in Mac Mail? Also why does the security header show up for just a handful of sent emails - when hundreds of signed emails have been successfully sent.
Any help would be appreciated. The behavior is the same on my other Macs - at least the ones on which the certificates are also installed.
Also - I don't have my certs installed on my iPhone yet - so I can't tell on the iPhone if the certs are showing up in the sent folder - but I can see the certs on mail that I send to myself from the Mac but receive on the iPhone.

I stopped using the S/MIME certs and stopped signing my emails. Too many recipients were receiving them as "attachements" especially if the recipients email account was on an Exchange server. My certs have since expired and I have not done anything to further analyze the situation. My original post was over a year ago and I have long since been on Mavericks.

You say you are seeing the exact same issue - yet you are also saying you can look at the sent mails from os x and ios - does this mean that you see the security badges on the sent emails in both os x and ios? I assume you are on Mavericks?

The security questions have been added to provide additional security for iTunes Store accounts. You will need to set up the questions and answers now, and provide those answers from time to time.

Why are TypeKit fonts not displaying correctly in Pages (iWork)?

I have just subscribed to TypeKit and am experiencing highly peculiar behavior from the two fonts I’m using in Pages (iWork): Basically, fonts in my document don’t respond appropriately to requested changes in style. For example, if I increase the point size by one point using the the formatting commands built into Pages, the font drops a point size. I’ve had the same experience using the kerning command, where the kerning decreases when I have set it to increase. (So far, the only fonts I’ve been using have been Futura PT and Proxima Nova.)
Look at the example in the screenshot: “FEATURED EXPERT” on the top line shows in Pages as being 24pt Futura PT Book. However, “SOLO,” a few lines down, which is definitely displaying as smaller, shows as 25pt Futura PT
In a potentially related issue, when I reopened this same document today, text boxes were suddenly too small for the text (again in Futura PT and Proxima Nova). It was as though Pages was suddenly reading those two fonts differently.
I have had no issues with other (non-TypeKit) fonts in the same document.
Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Any suggested fixes? I'm reluctant to unsync/resync the two affected fonts (the only ones I have sync'd to date) because I don't want to wreck the document!

Thanks, Christopher. After I posted my original question, I did come to realize that it was Helvetica not Future PT showing. Here’s what happened, and here’s why I still need some guidance…
The document dropped Future PT because when my wifi signal dropped, the Creative Cloud app displayed this error symbol (see graphic) in my menu bar.
At that point, my computer could no longer access my TypeKit fonts and the document reverted to the system's Helvetica default.
This was not an isolated incident.
If I turn wifi off manually, there is no issue and CC continues to operate in the background as it should, with TypeKit fonts still available.
However, if the wifi drops out on its own, I get the above error symbol and I then lose access to my TypeKit fonts. Very rarely, the CC app will self-correct when the signal is restored. More often than not, I must quit the CC app and relaunch it in order to get things back to normal.
This doesn’t strike me as normal behavior Have you ever encountered anything like it? Do you know of a fix that will allow the CC app to self-correct when the wifi signal is restored?
Any assistance will be appreciated!

Why are photos hiding behind background color on pages?

I am building a large book with over 350 photos as a gift for my 93 year-old father. I've done a number of books in iPhoto and am fairly experienced with the software. After the last system upgrade, this book seemed to be missing over half the photos. Upon closer inspection, I could tell the photos were there but with a colored background in front of them. I have moved and changed photos. Some stick and show; some don't.
When I view the book on All Pages, I can see all the photos are there, albeit very small. However, when I click on a page to work on it, or enlarge the All Pages any, photos start to move behind the background colors and I cannot tell what photo is there. After much work on this last night, I can see all the pages had all the photos showing (in thumbnail view). At last, I thought. Made a PDF version to preview it, but the PDF has colored background in front of half the photos.
I have spent hundreds of hours on this book and wanted to get it to my dad for Christmas (which will be late now) or before he dies . . . I have never encountered this issue on my other equally large books. Did the operating system upgrade cause this to happen?

Why are their question marks on my iWeb page borders?

Hopefully this is an easy one that has been answered, but I can't find any postings. Anyone know why suddenly the borders around pages, text and pictures are now clear/white with question marks in them? We have changed nothing, though this does (coincidently or not) coincide with the .mac to .me transition.
Any help is appreciated.

Well, I seem to be having the same problems. I have question marks for album covers and picture frames. Also, I can't get slideshows to play. All I get is a black screen. Going back in to republish, there are no options to play slideshow. I can't imagine remaking my whole website over, just to maybe find that it still doesn't work. It seems like a glitch that should be resolved by Apple. If they can't fix it, I'd rather find another place to publish it, so that I'll know it's got a chance of working.
I couldn't even send feedback to apple this morning. They must be getting a lot of complaints.
The problem seems to be on them, and I don't feel like it's right to suffer the inconvenience, or have to remake the whole site over. I hope they'll come thru with a fix for this and make things right.
Am I the only one who's had a problem contacting feedback?

In finder, why are my tags shown as blank white page of paper icons?

After upgrading to Mavericks, I've had an issue in my Finder. On the left hand side where the Tags are displayed, instead of showing the corresponding colored dot next to the name of the Tag, all thats shown (for Red all the way through Gray) is just a little Blank Piece of Paper Icon. Any thoughts?

SOLVED: Close Case
I had Powerbox Injector & EasySIMBL running to change the side finder icons to the older, colorful versions. These stayed colorful, but messed with the tags. All good now.

Why are my images positioned further down the page as size increases?

I'm experiencing a problem with images that I'm a little baffled about.
My image tag is listed as below and comes below text in other plain paragraph tags.

The image is not appearing. If I decrease the height to 50 it appears (obviously skewed though) and is positioned below the text.
If I increase the height to 300 it appears but now the top of the image is further below the text.
If I set the height to 411 it doesn't appear I assume because the combination of the image height as well as the increased space between the top of the image and the preceding paragraph puts it off the page.
Why does the space below the paragraph increase as the image height increases?

Why are my images so washed out in pages compared to how they look in Photoshop?

I am new to Pages. I have some beautiful .jpeg CMYK files I am importing into a Pages template, and they look completely washed out in pages compared to how they look in Photoshop. Is this just a preview mode or will they look this bad if I print the file at a print on demand site like HP Magcloud?

Well, I'm not sure about what my color management is set to in photoshop, but its color LCD for the mac in system preferences. As the printer is a print on demand site its not so easy to run tests. The thing is, they want the images as a PDF, but I am loosing quality pringing it into pages, would it be different if i created the PDF directly from photoshop (is that even possible?)
paper options are:
60#, 80# or 100# matte text stock options with Saddle Stitch Binding
80# premium cover stock, 80# matte text stock with Perfect Binding
the site says this:
If you are creating your PDF in a different program like Microsoft Word or Publisher, or Apple Pages, you’ll want to save your images based on whether they were CMYK or RGB to begin with. If they were CMYK to begin with, they should be saved as CMYK. If they were RGB to begin with, saving them with an sRGB colorspace will give you the best output.
I already changed them in photoshop from RGB to CMYK, is it too late to change back? where is the sRGB option anyway?

Richardo: if some people can get to both URLs and others can only get to the new one that could be that the old one is being done away with or if not that then it would have to be the setting for those computers that are not getting to the old one.
Me: Like what kind of settings?
Me: I have, as you may know, A Static Public IP (IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Servers) as assigned by Verizon.

Me: like cache, or proxy server for example... ?
