Why are some of my songs not in order in my albums?

I was wondering why are some of my songs not in order in my albums? This wasn't a problem when I first used i-tunes, but I had to download a newer version of i-tunes to get my sister's ipod to work.  For Example my album "AC DC Live" has track #3 Back in Black as the first song listed.  How can this be fixed?

Hello igho234,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. You don't mention how those songs got onto your playlist, but this article may address your issue, if they were imported from a third-party application or CD.

  • Why are some of my songs not syncing in my playlist when most of them are?

I am syncing playlists and a few of my songs are not syncing when the rest of them are. I have checked that they have been downloaded (and purchased!) and have a check mark in front of them. They are in the playlist lineup...

Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs? (iTunes purchases only)

  • Why are some of my songs not downloading to my ipod from iTunes?

I had downloaded all my albums from iTunes onto my iPod and then went a deleted the songs that I didn't like from the album. Later, I deleted all songs of my iPod Touch (4th Gen) and I was going to reload them all back on.
I went to drag different albums across and some albums it would add, others it wouldn't. The albums it did add only had the songs on that I didn't like (the ones that I deleted the first time)
I'm now not sure how to get the songs I want back on because when I drag a song over singley, it won't add to my iPod. I'm not to sure what to do and a little guidence would be great...

Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes?
Is there anything different between the syncing and non-syncing songs like where they came from?

Why are some of my songs ghosted and some are not?

    Hi smiilee,
Have you tried resetting your phone (hold down the Home and Power buttons a the same time and continue to hold until the Silver Apple appears). Once the Home screen comes back up, see if your Music is OK.
If it is not, then, have you sync'd your phone to an iTunes library on a computer? If so, then hook it up to the computer, uncheck the "Sync Music" option so that no music is sync'd and then sync the phone. This should delete everything on the phone. Then go back and re-check the "Sync Music" option, and select any other criteria you want on that screen, and then sync again. This should put back all of your music.
Let me know if you have any questions,

why are some of my songs that i have downloaded into itunes not showing

If you have content eligible for icloud then you can stream it directly. Of course any local content requires your computer on and running iTunes to be able to see your library.

  • Why are some of my songs listed in red?

Why are some of the songs and albums listed in red in my library?

You tell us, did you do anything?
    Install iTunes 11?
Put songs into a Playlist Folder?
Is the Playlist a Smart Playlist?
Number two, putting songs into a Playlist Folder is guaranteed to cause songs to be "lost" from the list, eventually.
So - if you need more help than the possible causes listed here, you need to tell us a bit more about the issue. One assumes for instance (since you've posted in the iTunes for Windows forum), that this is ocurring in iTunes. What devices are you Syncing with your iTunes Library, and what are the Playlists like on them?

  • Why are some 100% Accurate Rips not matched by iTunes Match?

Why are some 100% Accurate Rips not matched by iTunes Match?
Is there an Apple Support employee that can address this question?
The phenomenom occurs for over 500 of my tracks spread out among 100+ albums.
Certain tracks simply do not match to the iTunes library, despite being 100% Accurate bit-for-bit Rips. For reference, I use dBpoweramp for ripping, which checks CRC.
As an example, take Aerosmith's "Get a Grip" album; Tracks 2 and 5 will not Match to iTunes, despite perfect integrity in the ripping process.
Upon looking further into those particular tracks, I notice a discrepency between the "track length" reported on the iTunes store page, and my accurate rips for those tracks [track 2 & 5 on iTunes: 4:09 & 6:19, respectively; track 2 & 5 direct accurate rip from physical CD: 4:10 & 6:07, respectively].
So clearly, with track 5, there is a major discrepency, 12 seconds difference, which leads me to think the iTunes release of this album and retail release of the CD I physically own are quite different.
Well there, I guess I've solved the "reason" for the undesired functionality, but it certainly doesn't solve the issue at hand.
A major aspect of the iTunes Match product is To Match, so that, in part, bit-rate upgrades can take place, and also to provide management and format uniformity.  I do realize that there is no guarantee iTunes has every album one could own, and entirely un-matched, and thereby Uploaded, Albums are a significant upside feature of iTunes Match; however, 1+ tracks on each of a significant quantity of albums, which iTunes carries, not matching to iTunes creates heterogeneous-format albums, and significantly more library management.
If there is a workaround for this issue it would significantly improve the user experience for iTunes Match.  A user shouldn't have many hetereogeneous-format albums when iTunes carries/sells those albums, and the user has perfect quality rips from their physical CD.

  • Why are some items on itunes not available in other countries. like the book world war z by max brooks?

ok so i want to buy max brooks novel WWZ from the uk itunes store. but i cant becuase its only available in the USA..... why is that? why are some things limited to certain countries? im gonna go to the local book store and just buy a (much cheaper) hard back copy anyway, but it genuinely makes zero sense why itunes does this. very frustrating is a understatement as this happens with music and videos also! ......

It's the content providers decision, not Apple - the book publisher, record company, film studio have to grant Apple a license to sell their content in each country. So if the book publisher has only granted Apple a license to sell it in the US store but not the UK store, then Apple can't put in in the UK store.

  • Why are some of the songs I created in garageband and then pushed to itunes "ineligible for icloud"?

I create songs in garageband on my iMac, then "share" them to itunes. I purchased Itunes Match so that I could hear them on my iphone 5 (7.1.2), but some of the songs will not show up on my phone. When I checked them on the computer, it says, "This item is ineligible for icloud". Why not?

Aec, I'm have the same issue as well with mine.  I deleted some music a few week back to give room for sum pics and movies and now that i want to restore them from off my itunes only 1 or 2 songs are actually able to play and the rest out of the albums are greyed out and non responsive.  Have never had an issue like this b-4.  Anyone have any insight or some problems?  Thanks in advance.

  • Why are some famous cd's not matched

Here are a few of the CD's that iTunes failed to match on my system
    Aqualung - Jethro Tull
    The Beatles (White Album)
The Best of Elvis Costello And the Attractions
Fame and Fashion - David Bowie's Greatest Hits
Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers
Why wouln't these match? (This is just a sample, most CD's did match). These are not obscure CD's, the titles have not been changed.
Also, why do some songs from a C/D match and others don't. One example: Pink Floyd Dark Side of The Moon (another resonably well know CD).
Thanks for any advice on getting them to match. I have turned match off and back on and rescanned etc.

All 226 Beatles songs from the 2009 remasters matched for me.  It's the one full discography that I not only own, but attempted in iTM.  SCITTBW, from my testing, is problematic on the original 80's CD only (I tested that as well).  As for DSOTM, how many times has that been remastered?  This is one of those albums that seems to get the remaster treatment every few years, so it doesn't surprise me that it would not match most of the time.
As for the adverts, of course it's going to be deceptive - it's an advertisement.   I've actually read them over and it says "most of" or "probably", so there's that wiggle room in case someone complains.  But I agree with you that masterings are never brought up and perhaps it should be (even as a footnote at the bottom - something like "there is no guarantee that your albums will match due to masterings, bitrate or other factors out of our control").   But I only can't see how having multiple masterings of these albums in the Cloud are going to be feasible for them - it may not even be allowed by the labels.
I've actuallly done some more tests with my own CD rips, and the general pattern I've seen so far is that music from the last decade or so, in general, matches quite well.  But CD's from the 80's or early 90's have a significantly lower chance of matching - sometimes it's OOP so it would upload 100%, or there was one or more remasters where one or more tracks don't match anymore.   But I still get a few recent CD's that have that one elusive uploaded track that makes no sense at all.

  • Why are some of my songs on my iphone grayed out after syncing to itunes on a new computer?

After syncing my IPhone to ITunes that I had just downloaded on the new pc I just bought, I noticed that there are several songs that are now "grayed out" on my phone and won't play.  There are some songs that are just not on my phone anymore at all, but they are still in my ITunes library on my new pc. How can I get all the songs in my library on my phone and work?

What exactly happens when you try to redownload? Just how does it not let you?
Are you/iPod doing anything between when the songs were there and they were gone?
Does anybody else have access to your iPod?
