Why are the adjustment layers in my actions not working? (mac osx)

I've just 'upgraded' to CC, and noticed that actions that alter Curves or levels adjustment layers do not play back correctly.
The Action itself contains the right steps but nothing happens to the adjustment or the image. I use this a lot for my work and I really need some help
I have a mac 10.7

Are these actions you recorded in a previous version of photoshop?
Did you try recording the action(s) in photoshop cc?
Have you installed the 14.1.1 update for photoshop cc?
Does it make any difference if you disable the Generator plugin under Photoshop>Preferences>Plug-Ins>Enable Generator?

Why are the ports on my macbook pro not working?

I have a 2.4GHz intel core i5 Processor with 4 GB memory fully up to date lion processing system and no matter what I do I can not get my usb ports to work. They both worked a few months back, but after a while one of the 2 ports gave out still produced power but it didnt see anything in there which was fine I moved my cooling pad to that slot and used the other for my wireless mouse but just recently the last of the 2 slots gave out and now I have 2 ports that emit power but dont ever read when I put something in the slot. I have been hitting up youtube and the internet in general and have yet to find a solution.

I suggest an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.

Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5? I want to choose "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net" but Firefox won't let me.

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
* Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
* You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
* "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

Hey, I just had this problem, I went into Settings -> Privacy-> Facebook (which is where I was saving photos from) -> turned it on, then back to settings -> Facebook-> and logged in. When I went back to Facebook and saved a photo and it saved to my camera roll. I haven't tried it with anything else yet though. Hope this helps!

Why are PSE9 adjustment layers an improvement?

PSE6 has access to blend and opacity controls in adjustment layers but that's not so in PSE9, unless I'm somehow missing the controls. If that's the case, those controls are absent, how are the PSE9 adjustment layers an improvement?

Why do the trusted face in smart lock not working in lollipop 5.0.2?

Hello everyone. I tried to lock my phone with face lock. but failed. Here is what I did.First I open settings then security then smart lock then trusted face . After that I set it up. All done , then I improve the face matching. SO the trusted face feature is turned ON . But when I open my phone it doesn't open it with face but with my previous Pattern. Why is this happening? Am I missing something? On kit kat this feature was working well, but with lollipop it doesn't. Why?Anybody can help and thanks.

Why are the adjustment layer controls grayed out?

I have used an adjustment layer in CS5 and when it was first used I could adjust everything. Now most of the controls have grayed out and whilst I can slide the sliders I can not type figures in nor use the radio buttons! Why has it locked me out? It has happened on a few images and with both Colour Balance and Hue and Saturation Layers.
The image above shows the problem with the top Colour Balance layer where I can not select Shadows or Highlights, nor type in figures for the sliders BUT I can slide them and change the tick on Preserve Luminosity! The basic image being edited is an 8-bit RGB file.
Adding a new adjustment layer (Colour Balance) on top of this one initially showed the same problem but after adding 3 more new adjustment layers suddenly eveything came back to fully working again - even the original problem layer!
This problem keeps happening with some of my images. It is happening on all 3 of our photoshop PC's, so it looks like a basic PS bug. Has anyone else seen this or know why it happens?

Thanks for the suggestion but that has no effect on them being grayed out or not. When this problem occurs it does not matter if the Mask is highlighted OR the adjustment itself.

I am currently without the issue on the above example having removed the problem by adding additional adjustment layers and removing them again. Even if I now select just the adjustment mask I can still access ALL adjustment controls without problem.
But it will occur again as it has done over the last few months on a random basis. Hopefully someone else has seen this occur and found a solution?

Why are the TypeKit fonts I am syncing not showing up for use in Illustrator?

I am beyond frustrated right now. But that's neither here nor there for anyone reading this so I will get to the point.
I have synced the TypeKit font, Tablet Gothic Wide to my Mac, but it simply won't show up as a font choice in Illustrator. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sam,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. I've confirmed that the font selections are added to your account correctly.
In case you weren't aware, the Creative Cloud application needs to be running on your computer in order for the fonts to be synced. If you don't have that installed, you can download it for free from https://creative.adobe.com/products
Once you have Creative Cloud running:
- Are the fonts showing up in the Fonts tab of Creative Cloud?
- If you haven't done so already, would you please try turning off font sync in the Creative Cloud application, wait a moment, and then turn it back on? The option to do this is under the gear icon in Preferences > Fonts ("sync on/off"). Sometimes the app just needs a fresh session for the fonts to appear again.
If that doesn't make a difference, please send your recent sync log files to Typekit Support at [email protected] so that we can look into it further.

* Open the Finder
* under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
* in the window that opens, type: /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
(Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

I can upload photos on my ipod, but they are not in colour, nor are the album covers.

On the Nano, head to Settings -> General -> Accessibilty and make sure the White On Black is set to Off.

Adjustment Layers-- painting back over not working

I'm learning adjustment layers. When I try to reverse what I've painted out by inverting the brush color and painting, nothing happens, i.e. the original brushwork stays intact and doesn't reverse. There is no lock icon on the layer. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Sounds like you are working on the mask. Make sure your foreground and background colors are black and white (literally).
Make sure the correct layer is selected
Make sure the mask thumbnail is selected.
Make sure the brush settings are correct in the top toolbar, - normal blend mode, 100% opacity
Make sure the layers settings are correct - check blend mode and opacity
make sure no layer above that layer is affecting it.
If none of this works, capture your screen with the layers panel open and post it.

Why is the second procedure in my package not working??

Hi I have a package that I want to run every 15 minutes. When I try to run the procedures manually and each one seperately they work. But when I put together these procedures in a package, the second procedure does not work or not updating the table. Any idea why this is creating a problem??
PROCEDURE UPDATE_CS_ACTIVITY is the one in the below package that does not seems working .. but when i run the procedure manually it works fine.
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated...

You have create global variables CSREWORK and CSTRACKOUT
in your package.
Your have then selected the
max(cstrackout) ,max(csrework) which would probably pick these variables up.
Rename your variables to v_CSREWORK and v_CSTRACKOUT or remove altogether as no sign they are being used which should fix that problem. The normal naming standard for oracle is to name variables with a v_ and parameters with a p_ to prevent problems with naming.

The adjustment brush in Lightroom does not work

The lightroom brush does not work. The radial filter and graduated filters work. How can I correct this?

What isn't working? Explain a little bit about the problem. Also, what OS, what version of Lightroom, a few details to help us understand your situation really helps. If the problem is that you can't see the tool when it's activated, try pressing the H key which is the toggle switch to hide/show the tool. Another thing to look at is the the flow adjustment on the tool. Without more information, I could guess and guess and guess. But I would just be wasting my time and yours.
