Why are the audio EQ settings not saving again in 10.1 ...

This is an older problem that was fixed in some version prior to 10.1  The latest version, 10.1, seems to have broken it again. I go to the 32 point EQ graph and make my settings. Then I close the EQ window. When I open it back up, all my EQ settings are gone. This was broken in some of the earlier versions but Apple fixed it. Now it's broken again. 50 steps forward ... 1 step back   Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or it there something I'm missing about something in the proper procedure having changed?

First, the best way to view or restore from your backups is via the Time Machine display, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #15.  Using the Finder is not recommended.
Do not worry about the dates.  First, the date modified only applies to the "parent" folder; that's not the Backups.backupdb folder, but the one inside it that's named for your Mac.
Don't worry about the sizes, either.  On Leopard and Snow Leopard, the size of a backup folder was the total size of all the items that were on your Mac at the time of that backup (less exclusions).  On Lion, however, it's the "unique size" -- the size of items that appear only on that backup.

  • Why are the date and time not updating in backups.backupdb folder?

I just started using Time Machine on my early 2011 MacBook Pro running 10.7.2. After the initial full back-up and first few updates, the backup folder (on an external 1.5 TB Firewire drive) continues to show the original "date modified" of the very first back-up and lists the size as a ridiculous 2.48 GB. (Using BackupLoupe, I know it actually is 280 GB, reflecting the size of my internal HD). Any idea why this folder's info is not updating in the finder (even using "Get Info")? Are my back-ups really there? (It certainly seems so according to BackupLoupe).

  • Why are the Equifax Trusted Roots not included in the latest release?

The Equifax Trusted Roots that were included in Yosemite 10.10.2 are missing from Yosemite 10.10.3.  These are still valid trusted roots for GeoTrust and need to be included.  Why were they removed?

I'm afraid that I distracted you with my background mention of hierarcharial keywords; I'm not asking about them.
I've entered keywords for several years of using Lightroom.  Suddenly, this week, I find that most (yet not all) of them have the attribute of "don't include the keyword in an exported file's metadata."  I never intended to ask for that; I thought all keywords will stay with the file and its offspring, and that's what I wanted.
    So I'm asking:
    1.     What did I do "wrong" to induce Lightroom to give the keywords that attribute? I never intended to ask it to.
    2.     Where does Adobe document how to enter keywords reliably so that they stay with the file on output?  I can't find that Adobe does.
    > Can you be more clear about keywords in square brackets? I know when you export the keywords as a list you can get a normalized data file that uses punctuation and tabs as delimiters...
I did export the keywords into such a list:  most keywords in the plain-text list have square brackets surrounding them, indicating keywords that will be omitted from metadata of any image that Lightroom exports.
My concern is not that the brackets are there.  They encode the attribute of "don't include the keyword in an exported file's metadata," and recognizing that attribute concerns me.
    > ...but I've never seen keywords in image files or in the interface rendered so.
    I haven't, either.

  • Central Search - why are my config criteria settings not showing?

    Hi
I have set up the central search feature and and it works well. The SAP standard criteria attributes are displayed. Using the configuration tool on component BP_HEAD_SEACH I have chosen to display only:
    Name1 / Last Name
    Account ID
    Employe Resp - Last Name
    Marketing Attribute
    Contact - Last Name
    Role Config Key: ZGL_AB_BM
    Component Name: BP_HEAD_SEARCH
    Component Usage: Search
    Object Type: <DEFAULT>
    Object Subtype: <DEFAULT>
In the selected search criteria both the Displayed and Use in Central Search columns have been checked.
When I go to test my changes, the 5 search criteria above are shown in the drop down boxes in the work center page but the drop down context menu underneath My Saved Searches continues to show the standard SAP criteria. It does not seem to implement the config changes I made.
    Am I missing something?
    Regards
    Declan

I have now got this working.
The central search will work with SAP note 1293695: Central Search Menu - Use Configuration of UI Object Type implemented and with the following config attributes:
Role Config Key: <Role Config Key>
    Component Usage: <DEFAULT>
    UI Object type: <DEFAULT>
    Object Subtype:<DEFAULT>
Also worth mentioning is that the search objects offered in the central search menu is cached in a server cookie by role and language. By default it expires after an hour and the next user who starts the application after this rebuilds the cache - which may take usually 30 seconds up to a minute for a particular user and a business role.
As a consequence customizing changes related to the central search are not visible right away. The cache can be invalidated manually via method CL_CRM_CENTRAL_SEARCH=>CLEAR_CACHE using the SE24 and its Test-Button. Alternatively you may set the user parameter 'CRM_CENTRAL_SEARCH' to 'REBUILD_MENU': In this case the menu is rebuilt with each application start for the corresponding user and the business role used.
    Hope this helps other users.
    Cheers

  • Why are some of my photos not saving?

since downloading iOS 8 on my 5S I've noticed some of my photos having been saving. They will show up in the thumbnail after they are taken but if I click on it, it will show me the picture before that. I've only noticed this when I use my volume keys to take the picture.

    Hi MoLovin,
If you are having issues with your iPhone's photos not displaying in the correct order, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

  • Why are the original movie soundtrack not included by default when I buy movies from the iTunes Store, Why are the original movie soundtrack not included by default when I buy movies from the iTunes Store

I assumed that the original soundtrack was part of the movie when I bought a dubbed movie (danish in my case), as is the case with DVD and Blueray movies. Apparently it is not...

Ha, ha, you are such a tool!
That profile was written in 2007 and never updated. Unlike you, I don't live on this forum. I have one 5 year old Dell gathering dust, waiting for the trash that has some kids software on it my kids never use.
Currently I own a 27 inch iMac, and a 21 inch iMac used by my wife. I just sold my MacBook Air, which replaced my MacBook Pro of two years ago. I have an AppleTV v2, and unfortunately gave my AppleTV v1 to a friend before I realized they stripped out the movie purchase feature. We also own an iPad, two iPhones, and 4 iPods, two of which are used as digital music storage for our cars.
So yes, all of my factual posts concerning Apple's shocking decision to try to hide the fact they removed significant functionality from AppleTV when they revved it, are just driven by the fact that 4 years ago I used almost no apple products. Apparently I harbor a twisted desire to hurt the company that provides me almost all of my technology of choice today, despite being an early software developer for the Mac, helping start two Macinotosh software companies in the 1980s and 1990s, and working at Apple for 2 years in the early 90s.
The truth is, Apple's products weren't so good 15 years ago so I gradually switched to Windows for professional reasons. About 4 years go I bought an iPhone, and started to wake up to the fact that Apple had done a tremendous job moving the Mac platform to the intel architecture, and was very happy to replace my crappy dells with Apple products.
But that doesn't mean I wear blinders when their product teams and marketing department makes mistakes, or does something deceptive.

  • Why are the audio levels on a MBP so quiet?

I'm a musician and the MBP's low audio output has been problematic.
I've been using it as my main workstation at home in favor of my G5 desktop from 2003... and even as I'm running through my external audio hardware, my MBP's maximum volume is drastically lower than my G5. But in the studio, I can live with that; I don't need to blow my ear drums out anyway.
Performing live with my laptop is impossible though. My MPB gets nowhere near as loud as other laptops, even when I run through the same audio interfaces. Is there something I'm missing or this just a low quality soundcard that Apple ships with their new laptops? This is crazy. What kind of Pro laptop is this?

Open /Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup and select the output type, then alter the levels there and see how that helps ?

  • Why are the images on google not showing?

it is really annoying i want to look at some pictures and i just cant see them. it comes up with a list of stuff.

I don't know if complex is the right way to describe it, as you want them displayed by file number and in the other thread he wanted it date order, so there has to be  choice to satisfy varying requirements. I do think it would be nice to have a big  red "reset everything back to how it was when I liked it" button at the top of the screen, it would save us all a bit of time sooner or later!!

  • Why are the shut down times so various

why are the shut down times so various

Then again, it could be completely abnormal.
I found that after updating to 10.8.2, from 10.8.1, that my shutdown times went from a solid 3-4 seconds, to a wide array. For the most part, it takes an average of 14-20 seconds on 10.8.2 (with an rare occasional 3-4 second shutdown).
I have performed an erasure, and restore to 10.8.1 to alleviate it (kinda bummed, because I do like some of the new features of 10.8.2).
I then cloned the 10.8.1 install to an external Thunderbolt SSD, and then updated that drive to 10.8.2. Shutdown problem is then evident on that drive (even in safe mode, with no startup items running).
After looking at the console logs, there appears to be a OS component that is hanging. Hopefully 10.8.3 will address it, as I find many others are seeing the same thing (as well as the hanging OS component in their system log).

  • Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5? I want to choose "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net" but Firefox won't let me.

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

''Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5?"
Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.
'''Not saving History''' -- check your settings for '''Tools > options > Privacy'''', make sure you are not clearing more than just cache in "Settings for Clearing History"
    * http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
    * clearing your history at end of session, cache is the only one you would want to clear at end of session, if you don't want to lose things
There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
    * Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
    * You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
    * "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.
