Why are the saved passwords in my browser deleted whenever I reboot my computer?
Every time I reboot my laptop all my saved passwords and download history are deleted and I have log into all the sites all over again. I checked in options and save passwords is checked and clear data and private browsing aren't. I don't understand why this is happening.
Are you using [[Clear Recent History]] to clear data on exit?
Do you have cleanup software like Cleaner?<br />
If you have then check the settings for the Firefox application in the CCleaner options.

iPhone5c iOS 8.1.2I keep Outlook Express running on my desktop all the time. The emails come into the inboxes of both my desktop and my iPhone. Once the emails are received on the desktop and I read them on my phone, they automatically go into the trash folder. If it really is trash, I manually delete them and they go over to the other trash folder. Then I can empty all of them at once. If it's really important, sometimes I manually move it to another folder. But then Saturday comes along and the trash folder all of a sudden becomes empty.

I want to make sure that the folder and files where the passwords I've saved in Firefox are stored on my computer are being backed up by Carbonite. Please tell me where I can find the folder/files on my C: drive.

Safari, "Private Browsing" - why are cookies saved?
I normally use Private Browsing out of habit on all my computers using Safari but I do have a few questions on it -
Why are cookies saved even when "private browsing"? go to one genealogy site that requires membership and the cookies from that site are always present in my cache. Are pages also being saved in the page cache as well?

Can you add an Add Password to the Saved Password window?
There are some sites that do not prompt Firefox to save my password.
Is it impossible to add an Add Password to the saved passwords screen for times when I revisit the site?Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

The website might be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving form data like name and password.

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
* Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
* You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
* "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above) -
In Security, clicking on the "Saved Password" button displays your current saved password for each site. It only allows you to view and delete site passwords. It does not allow you to change a password. How would you do that?
If you enter a new password Firefox should offer to change the password.
*You may not need to delete the old password. Try "Refreshing" the page, entering the site again, you may need to let Firefox fill in the old password, then enter the new password, and Firefox should ask to save the new password. See:

Why are the apps on my IPad scattered across the whole thing and when I open them they turn to little rectangles in the corner of the screen and I can't even use them or tap on anything. Also when I turn my iPad it doesn't flip the screen over.
Hi The next thing to do is to Restore back to Factory Settings this will get rid of any bugs . After Restore use same Apple ID /Password then you should get all your Apps & data back If you still have this problem make an Appointment at Apple Store . Cheers Brian

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. -

Some websites block the FF password save feature. I would like a "work around" so that those sites are automatically sign-on.
There used to be a simple way to do this,but I have not found it in the current version of FF.

Songs containing DRM (Digital Rights Management) may not appear, or may appear grayed out in iCloud. This can occur if your computer is not authorized for playback of that content. Try authorizing your computer, then manually update iTunes Match.
To determine what Apple ID your computer needs to be authorized for, locate and select the song in your iTunes library.
Choose File > Get Info.
In the Summary tab, locate the Account Name field in the right column and write it down.
Click OK.
Choose Store > Authorize this Computer.
Type in the account name from the Summary field and its password. Click Authorize.
Choose Store > Update iTunes Match.

surfin steveHey, I just had this problem, I went into Settings -> Privacy-> Facebook (which is where I was saving photos from) -> turned it on, then back to settings -> Facebook-> and logged in. When I went back to Facebook and saved a photo and it saved to my camera roll. I haven't tried it with anything else yet though. Hope this helps!

I don't see any "sort" done at all on the resulting output. And the code on my page doesn't have any sort functions included, that I can see. ''(I know little about writing Javascript.)'' It sure doesn't "sort" as displayed in the Firefox Saved Passwords window, which is alpha from left to right - chrome:// - ftp:// - http:// - https:// - as the primary sort. And within each of those protocols there are mutli-levels of alpha sort, which are separated by each period in the URL, it seems.
The resulting output from my page seems like it may be in the order the passwords were originally saved, which is the order that data would have been originally saved in the signons.sqlite file. I can't say that 100% though, as the Profile I used earlier to test that it still works in Firefox 5.0 has been through hell and back over the last 8 or 9 years. I honestly can't remember the last time I started saving passwords from scratch in a new Profile, I have passwords from websites that I haven't been to in the last 8 years in there. I just copy the two password files into any new Profile I may create and I'm then sure I have any of the passwords I have saved since I started using Firefox.
Sorry, I don't have any idea about how to add another column with (xerox.com) pulled out of this URL (www.office.xerox.com), if I am following you. The script used basically takes the data saved in Firefox an outputs it direct, without modification, just placing that data into the correct place as per the script. I'm not sure that would even be possible, we're already hitting two security alerts in Firefox as it is. -
I restored a Macbook Pro from a Time Machine backup and now none of my passwords are working (and I know they are the correct passwords). What can I do?
First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why the password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. You can select one of the available layouts by choosing from the flag menu in the upper right corner, if it's showing, or cycle through them by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password. In OS X 10.10 and later, this option also works with FileVault, but only if you enabled it when you activated FileVault. It's not retroactive. Otherwise, see below.
Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select

from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but the Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as the login password), there's no way to recover it.
