Why are the terms for adobe flash player appear to be written in arabic?
It opens on the English page for me:
Some of your systems settings may be incorrect, so it opens on the first (Arabic) page. But you can always click on the English bookmark to go to the English section.

What are the distinctions between Adobe Flash Player & Shockwave Player & Shockwave Flash?
I find references to what seem to be three distinct things:
Adobe Flash Player
Shockwave Player
Shockwave Flash
Treatment of these things is interwoven and confusing:.
As an example, the Adobe Shockwave Player page at URL: http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/ provides a link to a page to test whether Shockwave Player is installed. That test, however, is the test to see whether Adobe Flash Player ins installed.
On my Mac running OS X 10.6.4 Firefox 8.0.1 has a Plug-In named Shockwave Flash 11.0.1.152.
Are these things indeed distinct? Is it likely that both (or all three) are needed on the same computer? The Adobe web site should clearly define the relationships at a high level of visibility.Basically, the Flash player is just that: you can watch videos, but you can't interact with them.
To give it its full name, Shockwave For Director is primarily used for things like games, or demos where the user can interact with the animation.
The current version of the Shockwave (For Director) player is 11.6.3.633 while the current Flash player is 11.1.102.55 -
Why can't I find the privacy policy for Adobe Flash in English on the website? I don't read Arabic.
That's what I see when I go to http://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/legal/licenses-terms/pdf/Flash%20Player_14 .0.pdf (using Firefox 30.0 on Windows 7 with the Adobe Reader 11.0.07 plugin):
The PDF plugin automatically opens the English bookmark.

FOUND A FIX FOR ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 11.9.900.152
I have Windows 7, 64bit and Internet Explorer 11 installed. I found the fix for Adobe Flash Player after 2 days of doing everything. I thought that the fix should be something very easy and it was. I spent 2 full days doing all kinds of ridiculous things, i.e. uninstalling, reinstalling, restore computer, deactiving XActive, reactivating, changing stuff under internet options, etc. The problem was Internet Explorer 11 update caused Adobe Flash Player not to work or recognize the flash player, or installing a new router caused it not to work. Websites kept displaying messages to download Adobe Flash Player when I already did. There appeared to be a conflict where some videos played and other did not. Youtube did not work anymore. All the problems that other people posted under these forums happened to me. I could not play the games I was playing before, etc. Anyway, I am NOT a tech person and understand little and almost gave up when by accident I found the fix and EVERYTHING works without rebooting anything, uninstalling or reinstalling etc. as all the people in the forums posted. Everything was so complicated!!
THE FIX: Go to Goodgle Chrome browser. If you don't have it, download it. The Adobe Flash Player is included in this browser. Anyway, at the very top RIGHT HAND SIDE there are lines in a square formation. Click on that and go to SETTINGS. Go to very bottom and click on SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS. SCROLL DOWN TO THE VERY BOTTOM and click on RESET BROWSER SETTINGS. After I did that, EVERYTHING WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! Youtube worked, my game worked in BOTH GOOGLE CHROME AND INTERNET EXPLORER 11. It was like a miracle and a simple fix.
I hope I can save some people ALOT of aggravation and frustration. Adobe should have this fix displayed PROMINENTLY EVERYWHERE if it is indeed this simple. Let me know if this helps. All I know is that I had the same issues as everyone else in the forums and now it is all fixed. I have very limited knowledge, almost none. It just seemed that something was blocking the videos from coming up.Thanks Mike. I'm not sure what I'm doing but I also re-downloaded the flash player and I got YouTube videos to play again. I have IE11 that I tried to uninstall (it won't let me) so I had to use a restore point, so videos I noticed in yahoo.ca can't play but I read lots of people having issues with this. But, by using a restore point, and re-downloading the flash player (a couple of time until it took), I got Youtube and my game back on IE11. I plan to use Chrome Google though after this experience as everything works there

Why doesn't Apple support Adobe Flash player on the iPad? Very irritating!
Look to the right under More Like This and you will see that you are beating a dead horse. Instead of doing a search for your issue you will be one of the obligatory 5 or 6 folks who ask this same inane question here every bloody day.
So there is you answer, just read a few of the links to the scores of other threads here on this very topic and you will have all of the answers. The primary one being that there is no Flash from Adobe for iOS devices. Never has been, and since Adobe gave up trying to make Flash that worked, likely never will be. -

I'm installing Flash Player on my Windows 7 64-bit OS using IE 8 32-bit. The installation terminates and the log file contains the following. (Please note, this log file was in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash"). Flash player (32-bit) has been working, but just currently quit working. Advise please.

I keep on getting messages to download updates for Adobe Flash Player.app however, I always get a warning message since it is an application downloaded from the internet and the question "Are you sure you want to open it?" Are these safe to download, or shall I cancel it? Perhaps it is best to go to the Adobe site? Any recommendations? Thank you very much.
It can be easier to remove Adobe Flash Player from OS X entirely, and be done with the effort involved. Adobe has a tool to remove Flash Player from OS X available. (If you really need Flash capabilities, there's a version embedded in the Chrome web browser that might suffice.)
As for your question, if you have gone directly to the Adobe web site (by entering the URL in Safair, and not by clicking on anyting in email or on another web site), and have downloaded Adobe Flash Player updates from there, then you're reasonably safe.
If you've downloaded the Adobe update bits from the Adobe site (and again, not from any other site), then clicking through the "yes, I know I downloaded this" is probably safe. -

I have Firefox 3.6.10.
When I checked for plug-ins updates, it opened the "plug-in check" page and showed the Shockwave Flash 10.1 r82 as "vulnerable", explaining a potential security vulnerability and suggesting to update to latest version if existent, or if not, disable the plugin.
The Adobe security advisory suggests to upgrade to the newest version Adobe Flash Player 10.1.85.3.
When I click on it, it says Adobe Flash Player 10.1 only. It also says: "You may have to temporarily disable your antivirus software". Is this safe? Also: how do I know that the 10 . 1 version is the same as the 10.1.85.3 version? The [http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ Adobe Flash Player] page refers to 10.1, but the full version details for the latest release is 10.1 r85 which is a security update. You can get it from the above link, or use the manual installers available from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_ManualInstaller
You should not have to disable the Anti-virus software in order to install Flash, only do that if is is interfering with the installation. -
Why doesn't Apple support Adobe Flash Player?
Why doesn't Apple support Adobe Flash Player?
I recently traveled out of the country with a large group and we are sharing our photos on Snapfish and I need Adobe Flash Player to download them to my IPAD. Help!No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
1. Puffin
2. SkyFire
3. Photon Flash
4. Browse2Go
5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that." -
