Why are there no instructions for how to install fonts on Frame 10?

The documentation is horrible! It says in many places, reinstall the fonts, but it never says how to do that or where to find out how to do that.

Which fonts?
I suspect that for fonts you already had prior to FM10, you wouldn't be asking.
Adobe sez: Adobe® FrameMaker® 10 includes the following OpenType® fonts for Western languages: Minion® Pro, Myriad® Pro, Adobe Garamond® Pro, Letter Gothic Standard, News Gothic Standard, and Courier Standard. For symbols, FrameMaker 10 includes Symbol Standard. For Chinese text, Adobe Fangsong Standard and Adobe Kaiti Standard are provided. Kozuka Gothic® and Kozuka Mincho® are provided for Japanese text.
Is the question then a matter of: where on the media and/or in the download are these found?
Once located, and as needed, unpacked, installing them is trivial.
I haven't used FM10, and don't know the location.

Why does Firefox insist that I'm still using version 3.whatever when I have faithfully downloaded new versions when it tells me to do so -- most recently version 8.whatever (today). This is the same as has occurred when prior versions were nearing their end-of-life. Support for Firefox 3.6 versions is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Why are there no updates for the 800w

I know there were 2 patches early on. The voice command works about 80% of the time, so I guess that's better than nothing; I can't see any improvement in the usb charging / recognition behavior; or let's just say it's still extremely poor.
I look at the Blackberry Bold forum and see that there are updates for that already; in fact it looks almost continuous. That is, there are signs of activity from BB and none from Palm.

You should contact the company that makes the one for your computer and ask them to make an app for your iPhone. Apple only makes a couple of apps. The other million are made by people like you and I or by companies and are posted to the app store.

Because apparently it is programmed deep, deep into Adobe's DNA that they cannot possibly manage to come up with a straightforward, clean, and logical installation process. It is demonstrably beyond what's possible for Adobe. I say that based on years and years of dealing with their byzantine, buggy, and bloated installers. The Cloud was supposed to magically make things better.
I also now have two versions of After Effects, Audition, Flash, Illustrator, Media Encoder, Muse, and Photoshop residing on my computer.
Why?
Well, because the Creative Cloud installer didn't really "update" the current software...it just installed new versions next to the old ones.
Why?
Beats the hell out of me. But I'm pretty sure if I expend my time to contact Adobe's support folks I will be told to go through some process of manually removing each copy of the old software. They won't know why the "upgrade" process worked this way, and they won't care. They'll just cheerfully advise me to waste my time cleaning up Adobe's mess. Again.
Looking forward to the day I no longer need to use Adobe products.

Why is There No Guidance for FindChangeList?

Dear Adobe Forums,
I am a very experienced user of InDesign, working on CS5.5 and EPUB production. I thought that using Adobe's provided "FindChangeList" JavaScript would be timesaver for preparing InDesign files for export to EPUB. But in my experience, despite spending days of time on it and bending over backward to code my queries carefully, FindChangeList does not work without endless error messages that, as a non-programmer, I am not able to decipher. I'm very frustrated and annoyed by what should be a much more user-friendly script! After all, wasn't the whole idea of "FindChangeList" to make multiple find-and-replace operations available to a user of InDesign?
I've read Adobe's support file at the top of the FindChangeList.txt doc. Here are just a few questions.
Why does it still say InDesign CS4 when it was provided with InDesign CS5.5?
Why are there no examples of how to change one character style into another, or one paragraph style into another?
What is the full list of "FindChangeOptions" available, and why isn't it provided somewhere?
Why is there no mention of the "FindChangeList" JavaScript in your own InDesignCS5_ScriptingGuide_JS, available for download?
As just one example of how this script isn't working, I recently added the following to a script:

I thought the whole point of "FindChangeList" was to quickly do batch changes. So far, it's been anything but. Either get this script working, provide the proper documentation, or retire it.

The script works the way it does by feeding whatever you entered in the txt file directly into the "properties" of findText, changeTo, and findOptions in memory. That means that you have to use the same notation for all items exactly as if you were typing it in a standalone Javascript -- hence, the seemingly odd notation that requires the curly braces, the camelCase property names and the colons before new values. It certainly smells like a real programmer wrote this up and didn't care about user-friendliness (although an important point in favour is you can use any of the 11 find-and-change options and any of the about 50 (!!) find text options that are available, without having the programmer having to manually include each and every one).

(c) about the Worthless Error Message
I get exactly that error message if I feed a non-existing character style into it -- I tried your "subru" to "sub-title" one. It fails when either of these character styles does not exist in the main list. When both exist, it runs without a hitch.
To get a more meaningful error message, change line #159 of FindChangeByList.jsx (it's the one inside the function 'myFindText')

into this:

Why are there fewer movies for rent via itunes on my AppleTV? Movies that are available for rent thru other services (windows, amazon, etc) are only available for sale in itunes. I don't want to purchase movies, I want to rent them as I previously have done for the past 2 years with my AppleTV. Anyone know what's going on?

Ans1) That is by design and default behavior. There is one watch-dog process and 2 webservd processes that get started by default. The first webservd is called primordial and the second child webservd is the one that actually serves all the HTTP requests.
Example:

6899 webservd -r /space/iws61sp2 -d ..
6900 webservd -r /space/iws61sp2 -d ...
In this example, the pid 6898 is called the watchdog process,
6899 webservd process is called the primordial process
and the pid 6900 is called the child webservd process that actually serves all the HTTP requests.
Ans2) You would monitor the child webservd process.

Also how do you request films/tv series to the UK itunes? There's tv series I'd like but they're incomplete like The Batman & Xena Warrior Princess. And films theta aren't available for download but you can purchase in a store like HMV? Apple isn't doing itself any favours by secluding countries by their store. They'd make billions if you could just select the iTunes Store you want to search & purchase from just by signing in! If anything what they're doing is putting themselves into a corner, other companies like Samsung & HTC are already on too of them for innovation & ease of use. The people they're attracting are predominantly existing Apple users not new customers. What do you guys think?

It's not Apple's choice, they can only sell a particular item where the content provider/rights-holder has granted them a license to sell them. Content is licensed by the rights-holders to Apple on a country-by-country basis, each country therefore has to have its own store, and you have to be in a country to use its store - they want control over where their content is available.
You can try requesting that an item be added to the UK store via this page, but unless the rights-holder agrees to then Apple won't be able to sell it here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

We've had several instances where we have had to run chkdsk on arrays with over 1m files. Average completion time is approximately 72 hours. The maximum downtime window they have available is the 64 hour weekend window. File sizes and number of files were
much smaller then than they are now.
The idea, in theory, was to use VHDs to compartmentalize the data into smaller volumes which could be more easily managed. It would also improve performance when transferring these compartments of data as they would use sequential read/write rather than
fragmented/random. This idea was never fleshed out in entirety, they don't split data up into little containers, but simply into big ones per project. Hence the 11m files in one container that I am currently trying to diagnose.
Some other important facts: The VHD in question is mounted in B:/project/ as this server also allows remote workers to log in, but they are restricted to see only data in E:. Disks A-D are hidden via group policy.
Update: icacls is failing on a large number of files within this dataset. I counted the path characters to ensure it wasn't the 255 character limit I was encountering and verified that the paths being blocked are only about 150 characters long. Once it finishes,
I'll have to try taking ownership and then re-running it. At this point I still have no idea how long to expect. I'm running out of time as the environment will be in use again at 9AM tomorrow morning.

Mozilla, like many other software companies, thoroughly test their software before releasing it to the public and I'm sure that no problem you are having is intentional.
I do not work for Mozilla but I do have experience of releasing software for public usage.
Firefox has no way of knowing what other software is already on your computer and with millions of combinations it isn't always possible to test for every scenario.
You can go back to the old version of Firefox but that won't always solve your problem.
