Why are thunderbolt display camera colors are not accurate?

The colors while using the camera are very purple.  Using facetim when I switch to the MBP camera, the colors are fine.  This is a new display and because I did not discover the issue until after 15 days, apple will not exchange it.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I had a similar issue with an iSight G5 about a year ago. The colors began to go funky on the screen and I ran every test I could think of. The situation gradually worsened and I finally put the iMac to rest in a back room in my basement. The hard drive still works and the information is accessible on it and I have retrieved just about everything I can think of from it. The computer didn't die, but the monitor did. An iMac without a working monitor is kind of useless.
I'm guessing your iMac is fairly old - by today's standards anyway - and even if the monitor issue can be resolved, it may not be worth the cost. You would have to find that out on your own at an Apple Store or a Mac repair shop.
Maybe it can be repaired .... and this is just my opinion .... but I would find a nice recycling place to lay the Mac to rest and buy a new one.

    Hi,
I assume you mean the Nikon D810 because D800/800E support has been there since Lightroom 4.1
Currently, because it is a new camera (D810) the only support is in a RC of ACR 8.6 for Photoshop CS6 and CC, as the RC runs out on 31 August it is expected support will be there in the next dot release of Lightroom.
Current limitations are that only full sized NEF is supported.
If you wish to import to Lightroom 5.5. you will need to download the DNG Converter v8.6RC and convert the NEF files (full size RAW ony) to DNG then import into Lightroom 5.5

    Hi,
There should be some problem with system settings. First of all, please check fonts size setting in Windows personalize.

  • Thunderbolt display calibration factory profile not found

Hi, I have recently got a Thunderbolt display (attached to Mac Mini) and have opened the 'Thunderbolt Display' preferences tab and have noticed that under 'color' the setting was 'sRGB IE61966-2.1' rather than 'Display' or 'Thunderbolt Display' - is this normal and if not what should the default be?
Also when I hit the 'calibrate...' button 'Display Calibrator' states that 'The Factory profile for the display could not be found' and when I enter 'ColorSync Utility' it states that:
    /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays/Display-756E6B6E-7669-7274-0000-000041DC9D0 1.icc
Tag 'cprt': Text tag has an incorrect length.
The file is locked. Could not be fixed.
When I go to the folder and try to unlock the file by going to 'Get Info' it doesn't state that the file is locked.
I also have Adobe CS5.5 installed so maybe that's installed some different ICC profiles?
Help please community, I'm pretty much a noob to this.
    Thanks

Don't feel bad. You are certainly not the first person to make that mistake and it is equally certain you will not be the last.

  • Thunderbolt display speaker USB output not selectable

    Hi There,
My thunderbolt display was working perfect before I upgraded to Mountain Lion.
Now I found it doesn't let me select ThunderBolt display speaker USB output.
it will jump to internal speaker right away once I select USB output.
I had ensured no any other USB connected to my MacBook Pro.
I am very sorry that the Chinese Snapshot attachment, but you can easily guess what the item is.
My Macbook pro is 2011 made, with 2 GHz Core i7, 16GB 1333 DDR3, now OS is  10.8.4,

Don't feel bad. You are certainly not the first person to make that mistake and it is equally certain you will not be the last.

  • Using the thunderbolt display camera

I have a late 2013 iMac with two thunderbolt displays hooked up.  How do i switch from using the camera on my iMac to using the camera on the Thunderbolt displays?

Depends on the application using the camera. For example, in Photo Booth, you would select the Camera menu in the menu bar and select the display's camera from the list.

  • Thunderbolt display sound and ethernet not reliable after Yosemite upgrade

After upgrading my MacBook Air to Yosemite, my Thunderbolt display has become unreliable. Most of the time, connecting to the display does not allow either the sound or the ethernet capabilities of the monitor to be used by Yosemite. A manual restart of the MacBook temporarily resolves the issue, but it recurs any time I unplug the MacBook and plug it back in again. Reminds my of my Windows days, having to restart the computer to resolve issues. Not a good feeling.

    Hi there,
i was experiencing this too. I followed this procedure (Have a backup available or make one!!)  :http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1756994
    1. Download & Run Kext Utility - http://cvad-mac.narod.ru/files/Kext_...app.v2.5.7.zip
    2. Download & Extract - IO80211Family.kext zip  https://www.sendspace.com/file/4v4a4r
    3. Let Kext Utility do its job repairing permissions, system cache, etc.. then Drag & Drop the extracted IO80211Family.kext file into the Kext Utility
    4. Restart MAC OS X Yosemite 10.10.
    (no garanties ;-)

  • Why does the visited link color change not work on some pages. this has only occurred in the past few weeks. 2 different computers Win 7 home pm Firefox 29

On some sites the visited link color does not change. I have checked all settings and they have not changed. I can make the problem change by unchecking the "allow pages to choose thier own colors" box , but the some pages do not display correctly. Things worked fine up to a few weeks ago. I feel it may be a glitch in firefox 29.
Windows 7 home premium SP 1
    Firefox 29

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:
*'''Windows/Mac''': Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
*'''Linux''': Run ''firefox -safe-mode'' in the Terminal/Konsole
If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • LR 4.4 D7100 color profile not accurate

I have been unhappy with the colors from raws on my new D7100. It's bad enough it has banding and color cast issues within dark shadows but today I decided to do a test against my D90 and ViewNX and the results conclude what I have been seeing. There is too much yellow and a lack of magenta in the converted raws with LR. Here is an example. I'm considering sending it back until this is resolved. Copy and paste the link into your browse I can't seem to be able to paste a working copy of it into this post. I remember when I first got my D80 how bad the color profile was, I had to shoot Jpegs for highend kitchens because I couldn't get the wood tones to look correct. Eventually the profile got updated.

You make a camera profile by taking a picture of an XRite Color Checker, either classic or pocket sized, standard color target and feeding a DNG of that into either the Adobe DNG Profile Editor or XRite’s Passport software.
You can make a dual-illuminate profile, using a pair of 2600K and 6500K WB images, or you can make single-illuminant ones that work mainly for one lighting situation, studio shots at a fixed location.  I have a dual-illuminant one and several single-illuminant ones for when the Tint is quite a bit different than zero or the lighting has an uneven spectrum or is extreme—arena lighting, fluorescent, mercury-vapor, sodium-vapor.   The profiles made this way tend to produce saturated colors and do not have the hue-twists built into them like those made from Adobe.
You can also use something like Imatest to check how accurate the colors are.
    CCPP:  http://xritephoto.com/ph_product_overview.aspx?id=1257 <http://xritephoto.com/ph_product_overview.aspx?id=1257&catid=28&action=overview> &catid=28&action=overview
    CCC: http://xritephoto.com/ph_product_overview.aspx?id=1192 <http://xritephoto.com/ph_product_overview.aspx?id=1192&catid=28&action=overview> &catid=28&action=overview
I have both a CCPP and a CCC and use the CCPP more but that’s because I’m usually doing outdoor nature photography.  The CCC is larger and easier for someone to hold in a portrait or modeling situation:
Imatest is made for measuring all sorts of optical system characteristics.  I have the least expensive version and mainly just use the Color Check module of it.
    http://www.imatest.com/products/software/imatest-studio/
You can also test color accuracy via free Photoshop scripts written by Rags-Gardner for use with various test charts:
    http://www.rags-int-inc.com/PhotoTechStuff/ColorCalibration/
R-G also has scripts that compute the optimum Hue/Sat slider values under the Camera Calibration area—this is how calibration was done before the DNG Profile Editor was created a few years ago.  The DPE and the sliders work on different parts of the color matrices so you can do them both if you want.

    DNGPE104-Mac:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5493

  • Why are my display screen colors going blurry?  Is the monitor going?  Can it be fixed?

The display screen of my Imac osx 10.4.4 had a vertical colored line through it for several weeks.  Now all the colors have become blurry.  I ran the hardware test and there are no issues.  Can the display be fixed or is the computer dieing?

  • Change default display profile (colors are horrible)

    Hi there,
A few weeks ago I baught a 15" Macbook Pro, but then I noticed the colors were horrible. Way too much brown/gray. I'm not exaggerating. Compared to my normal monitor it look's awfull, and compared to other Macbooks too!
So I tried to make my own color profile, and it looks better. Still not as perfect as it should be... Maybe go back to the store?
Anyways, I want to override the default color profile with my profile, so the Login screen and other accounts have more realistisc colors. Couldn't find any simple way to do that.
Could anybody help me? I'm new to OSX.

  • Why Apple Thunderbolt Display won't work on BootCamp Win7 64-bit while being plugged to MBA?

    Hello,
I have MBA (latest) & installed win7 64-bit in BootCamp, I do also have Apple Thunderbolt 27" Display.
When I disconnect the ATD and re-connect it in Mac OS X, it works fine like a charm, but when I disconnect then re-connect in BootCamp, it doesn't work at all whatsoever, in fact, I have to restart my MBA (while thunderbolt is connected) to make it work in BC, this is the only way to make it work.
So, my question is; If I disconnected ATD in BootCamp then re-connected it, why it won't work?
I've googled everywhere about this issue, but no luck.
    Any idea?

to calculate how much video ram is needed one
    take
the vertical number of pixels and * with horisontal number of pixels and * with 32bit colour which is 4 bytes
so if it's the 13" macbook air
    1440 * 900 * 4 = 5.184MB for main display
    +
    2560 *1440 *4 = 14.75MB for second display
sounds like the intel hd 5000 would have that as dedicated memory even if the windows driver did not allow to use shared system mem as extra
could be a problem with the driver for windows
maybe a person who ran a setup like yours would have more to contribute with
my setup is an imac 21" with amd video card and a 24" dvi dell monitor and that works fine in windows so it's a different animal altogether

  • Adjust thunderbolt display camera

I am using a Thunderbolt 27" display with a new Mac Mini and updated OS.  I look very pink using the thunderbolt built-in camera.  Is there any way to adjust the color of the picture so I have more natural skin tones?

Give iGlasses a try - https://www.ecamm.com/mac/iglasses/ - I don't recall the cost but I THINK that they have a trial period. Oh, it's $20... and, yes, they do have a free trial period.

  • Why will my IPAD camera connection kit not work?

My IPAD camera connection kit won't work! Help! Tried to reboot and had no luck!

    What model iPad?
Strange that neithere works. Are you sure the kit is securely plugged into the iPad?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
