Why Aren't Albums Showing Up?/Should I Upgrade My iPod To The 4G?

I recently purchased two new CDs and I uploaded them earlier this morning and put them on my ipod touch 3G. When I checked my ipod to make sure they were all there one of them isn't in the album list. It's not under compilations. It IS on the ipod but it's not showing up where it's supposed to.
I have the ipod touch 3G and I'm wondering if I should upgrade it to the 4G...

It seems kindof like an upgrade at your own risk, some ipods don't work and others work fine with 1.2, Mine is one that doesn't work. I got mine for christmas last year so it isn't the newest model that came out I am not sure if that makes a difference.

  • Should I upgrade my iPod to 1.2?

    Hello,
I received a 30Gig video iPod as a birthday gift last week (my wife takes such good care of me!!), and had all sorts of problems. I had iTunes 7 already installed. The iPod would not turn on unless I did 2 or 3 resets, and often would not automatically be recognized by iTunes unless I again did 2-3 resets. After two calls to Apple tech support, I returned it to the local Apple Store and got a new one.
This one seems to be fine. Automatically came up in iTunes and transferred all my music. But I noticed the iPod software version is 1.1.2. The big question I have is, should I upgrade this iPod to the most recent version (1.2)? Having read through alot of this forum the past week, there seems to be alot of problems with iTunes 7 AND the 1.2 update. I'm leaning toward keeping things as they are until this whole uproar settles down. That is unless alot of you think going to 1.2 is the way to go. I guess I'm just looking for some guidance. This is my first iPod, I really like the idea of what you can do with it, and want to have a positive experience (even though is started out kind of rocky.)

The upgrade I'm interested is for OS X  v.10.8.5...
...The App Store page shows 2 different upgrades:
Mountain Lion  (10.8.5)  Software Upgrade,  and
    Yosemite FREE upgrade
If the App Store is showing 10.8.5 as an update, what do you currently have installed? The final update to Mountain Lion was 10.8.5, and since the basic OS installation of Mountain Lion is no longer offered in the App Store, that would suggest you're currently at an earlier version of Mountain Lion - 10.8.x where x=less than 5. If that's the case, I'd suggest getting the 10.8.5 update. There is also a Supplemental Update for 10.8.5 and that may be what the App Store is offering.

  • My iMac is still on OS X Lion.  Should I upgrade to any of the later versions given yosemite has lots of critics

I have always taken the view that if it ain't broke, don't fix it so i haven't upgraded my OSX for some time.  Is it about time i did?  Yosemite seems to have had several poor reviews so should i upgrade to one of the other version.  I have a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 8GB1067 MHz DDR3 memory. as you can tell iIam not a power user but do enjoy my mac, although I had noticed that Safari has crashed a lot recently.
    Many thanks for any views!

I've had no issues either with Yosemite on either Mac I upgraded. A Mid 2007 iMac, and a Mid 2011 Mac Mini.  Both work fine. And other than some cosmetic grievances and interface dislikes here and there, like Allan, I have not heard of any major device breaking issues with Yosemite
With that said if you are waiting for an Update that has no critics, and no reported bugs, you will be waiting for a very very long time.
Your computer should be able to run Yosemite perfectly fine. The likelihood of any issues is very very small.

  • Why aren't album keyword tags written to metadata using Write Keyword Tag... command

When I display file properties within organizer it shows albums as keyword tags but after using the "Write Keyword Tag and Properties Info to File" command, the album keywords do not make it to the metadata.
Why is this?  I would really like for it to work.
I am using PSE version 8.  Does it change in version 9?
    Thank you!

    Ken,
    Thanks for your reply.
I think the way that Adobe has implemented albums is a little more like keywords than a saved search.  The reason I say this is because of the following:
    1. They appear with the keyword tags to the bottom right of the photo in the organizer.
    2. When you right-click on a photo and choose "Show Properties", they are listed with the other keywords.
    3. If you try to create a keyword with the same name as an album (to get the album name written to the metadata), PSE warns you that you already have a keyword with the same name.
I see what you are saying but I think the Adobe should either make a clear distinction between albums and keywords or at least give you an option to write the album keywords to the metadata if you choose.
Do you know how to submit product enhancement requests?
    Thanks again for your time.

  • Why does 1 album show up as multiple listings on my iTunes screen?

I have 1,000 cd's burned to my iTunes.  I keep them on a single folder on a WD 3.0 Passport HD.    The individual CD "packets'/folders appear on my hard drive as complete albums/CD's, but when I open iTunes on my computer and direct it to read my main folder, 70% of the CD's appear intact as one "group" or "album" or "CD", with the album artwork on the left,  while others appear broken up, with 4-5 separate sectors on the main iTunes screen.  I have re opened iTunes several times, setting it to read one folder.  It takes 1+ hour to read the 200Gb and consistently shows 30% of the CD's broken up with  no artwork.  Does this make any sense? I can send a screen shot of the iTunes screen, so that "you" can see what I am talking about.
How can I get iTunes to show all 1,000 albums/CD's as complete albums/CD's in the iTunes screen on my computer monitor?  Do I need software?  The info feature that directs iTunes to move an individual song to ists' album does not seem to work.
    Thanks!

You don't need to delete them form iTunes on your computer. Notice the dotted circles next to the songs. That indicates that the songs are essentially in limbo. They may not be on your iPad or they might appear in the Music app but will not play.
Sometimes unsyncing those songs will totally remove those ghost traces of the music nd sometimes, you have to restore the iPad to get rid of those traces of the songs.
If you Google "grey dotted circles next to songs in iTunes" you will find a plethora of articles that talk about this.

  • Why aren't TV shows or Movies I buy via Apple TV downloaded or available via my iTunes library (like when I buy them with my laptop or ipad)?

I get that some things are stored in teh cloud but if I paid the money for the show (or rights to view it) I should be able to view it on Apple TV, my iPad, laptop, etc via iTunes.  What am I missing?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Used the purchased option in iTunes to download them.

  • HT201272 None of my previously purchased TV shows show up in the Library. This is new computer. I have deauthorized previous computers and authorized this one. Why aren't TV shows that I purchased showing up?

No previously purchaesd TV shows are shown in the library. This is new computer, old one bit the dust. De-authorized all old computers. Authorized new one. Music shows up but not TV Shows I already bought. Any help?

I should have mentined that none of my previous TV Show purchases show up in the purchased sub heading. The Music is there but no TV Shows. I am most interested in recovering Doctor Who Season 7.1, 7.2 and Christmas Specials. The rest I am not as concerned about.

  • HT201269 Why is my album cover image not displaying on my ipod touch (5th gen) , but is available on my mac book pro?

I have an an ipod touch 5th gen. IOS8.1
Recently new songs that I download from the iTunes store does not have an image for the cover instead it shows the singer's name in grey, the image. Is there something wrong when I sync my device? I've tried re-syncing my library, but nothing is working.
    Thank you in advance.
    Grace

    That happens sometimes:
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Project/Albums show as having pictures, but won't display the pictures.

I have a Project and it has two albums listed (indented) underneath it.
I have moved them around a bit to put them in different folders, and now the pictures won't display.  By that I mean that if I mouse over the project, a popup (or flyover) says there are 129 versions, but no pictures show up in the browser window.  Same thing for the album.
The files are referenced files and the files are still in the folder in the same location on my hard drive so I could delete and then re-import, but I'd lose my keywording, any other metadata tags (ratings), and my adjustments.  I really don't want to lose those.
    Any ideas?

Sometimes moving projects around can create invisible filters, check Frank Caggiano's User Tip:                   Images not appearing in browser, search filter is cleared
But your long loading time is suspicious: Have you imported any new images recently? Long loading times can be caused by a corrupted image or video in your library; then you need to identify the broken image and remove it.
Also can long loading result from a corrupted Aperture Library that needs fixing. DId you have a recent Aperture crash?
Have you already tried to repair or rebuild your Aperture Library? See:
Aperture 3 User Manual: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library

  • Why are unchecked albums or songs being added to my ipod?

I've just recently upgrade(and kind of downgrade) from a 32gb ipod to a 8gb iTouch. I'm having the problem of too much music, but not enough space. I'm trying to add certain albums or songs onto my iTouch while not using up all my space. The problem is that my iTunes or my iTouch would add albums I don't want to add on my iTouch (again not enough space). For instance, I have multiple albums by Beyonce but I only want to add one of her albums onto my iTouch from my iTunes library, but it always adds all of her albums. I even unchecked all her albums besides the one I want, but it will still add all her albums onto my iTouch. On my iTouch menu under Music I have sync music selected as (selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres) selected. I don't have it as(Entire music library) selected. I don't know why it's adding unchecked and unselected music onto my iTouch when I sync it.
Can someone please tell me how I can fix this, so that only the albums or songs I want to add onto my iTouch ONLY goes onto my device?

Have a look under Playlists, Artists, Genres, and make sure you haven't checked something there that collects all her stuff. For example, if you had Beyonce checked under Artists, it'll transfer *all* Beyonce music.
As an experiment, uncheck everything in those three lists, so you *only* have checkmarks under Albums.
    Hope that helps

  • Why won't iPad1 show up as a Device in iTunes when the iPad is Wi-Fi and powered up?

iPad1 is properly designated to be Wi-Fi sync'd to the Windows 7 64.
iPad correctly shows Device in iTunes; and correctly sync's in iTunes when tethered to computer via USB.
No Device listed  in iTunes when iPad is on and powered by 10w power cube.
    Network connects.
    iCloud backup works when Wi-Fi.
iPad USED to be visible to iTunes when on and powered and on Wi-Fi.
    Some anti-miracle occured.
    Need exorcist.

Thank you for your reply; however I don't believe that your advice fits my circumstance - in that my device (in this case, the iPad) DID show up as a Device in iTunes last week - when connected via Wi-Fi (that is, powered up and on the home network and with iTunes open in the Windows 7 computer).
I was then able to communicate (read: sync) between the iPad and the computer NOT using the USB cable-connect to the computer - merely via Wi-Fi.
I can not repeat that miracle this week (meaning, that I must hook up the iPad1 to the computer via the USB cable, where it does register as a Device in iTunes - and it does go thru the 6 steps of sync.
Did I grossly missinterpret your instructions?
Thank you, in advance, for any additional assistance.

  • Why is PS 6 showing hourglass/egg timer rather than thumbnails in the organizer?

I have uploaded some pictures using Photoshop Elements 6 and they usually show up as thumbnails.  They are showing as an hourglass/egg timer instead.  All previously uploaded pictures are still showing as thumbnails.  How do I correct this problem?  BTW - in the lower left hand corner of the organizer - it does not say "generating" thumbnails.  I have also tried right clicking the thumbnail, then update thumbnail, but this does not work.  I can, however, view the pictures is full screen mode.
