Why aren't all of my iPhone 6 contacts automatically on my Macbook Pro?
My iPhone 6 is backed up to iCloud, however, even though my mid 2014 Macbook Pro (running Yosemite) is logged in to iCloud, only a small portion of my iPhone's contacts are present.
Note-
1. All updates are installed on both devices.
2. I double-checked in the setting to make sure that phone's contacts were backed up to icloud
3. My iPhone is set up to do sync to iCloud (and I would prefer to do it that way rather than setting up a local workaround)
Am i missing something? how is it that some of my phone's contacts are present and others aren't?
The issue persists on iCloud.com (when I login, only a portion of my contacts are present)
Thus, I'm thinking that this must have something to do with my phone not properly synching all contacts with iCloud. Suggestions?

I already back up to the cloud but do I need to have the contacts and calendar items checked in itunes to have them sync to my macbook? I ask that becasue curently they are grayed out in itunes but sync to the cloud just fine. Any help would be appreciated.
If your new Mac is running OS X Lion or Mountain Lion you can go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign into your iCloud account and turn on syncing for contacts and calendars and they should download to your Mac. (See http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.)

Why aren't all of my recent purchases showing up on my "purchased" tab on iphone 4S? I downloaded an album and I can't seem to get songs 2 and 4 although they are on my computer. I could probably connect my iphone to sync, but I'm wondering why they aren't transferring via iCloud.

Good afternoon. Ensuring your text messges are being logged correctly is important. I am happy to see you were able to determine they were iMessages. Unfortunately, there is not a way to track iMessages. However, if you find the iMessage user and you need to block them. Apple now gives you the ability to block iMessage users. To block iMessages Tap: Settings > Notifications > Messages > Scroll down to show iMessage alerts from, “My contacts only” > Should you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us. I just traded in my iPhone 4S for Samsung Galaxy 4S, still have iPad. Some of my iPhone contacts are unable to send me a txt that I can receive. But NOT all of my iPhone contacts. I have had them change their settings for my ph number to NOT say iPhone. Txt msg is disabled on iPad. I have no idea what to do. I called the support line that I Pay $9.99 a month for. They told me to delete my iTunes account. Will I lose all my pics on my ipad? I have no music download. I'm getting ****** at this whole thing. And it allllllll started with apples update to the ios7.... I HATED IT. Help.
What your iPhone using friends label your phone number in their contacts is irrelevant. I don't know who you pay $9.99 a month to but it's not Apple. You can't disable text messaging on your iPad as it is not capable of SMS.
Do you still have the iPhone? If so, log out of iMessage on the iPhone.
Try this:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "Edit Products"
Click on the "X" to the right of the product.
Click "Unregister"
Also, try changing the password on your iTunes account. -
My wife and I share one itunes account with separate libraries. When I sync her iphone in her library, it adds all of my iphone contacts to her contact list. How can we avoid this?
Make groups of contacts in your Address Book and select the option to sync only selected groups to each phone.

Me and my daughter had been using the same apple id, she was triyng to change it, now all of my iphone contact are gone, what can i do ti get it back , this is very important to me.
Your contacts are helpd on the server, so if you sign out from your iCloud account and sign into another one they will disappear. If you sign back into the original account they will reappear.

Why aren't all of my photos showing up that I am trying to save directly from my email on my iPad2? particularly jpegs?
Usually i just hold my finger down and am able to save all the photos attached in an email and now only certain photos are actually being saved. And in some instances the actual image is not there but instead just the word "jpeg"
Why? and or how do I fix this....
I loved being able to do the one step hold and save all from emails :-( Now its hold, save all and then pray that they actually make it in my photo album
HElp)))))))))When you first enable photo stream on your Mac it only downloads photos from the last 30 days, as older photos are no longer in iCloud. If the missing photos are older photos, that's probably the reason.

Can you explain what you have done whilst matching your library. I have explained in previous posts what you should expect to see.
The tracks with the download icon are in the cloud but if they have the download icon, this would suggest that the originals are no longer on your computer. Where are the original files?
Your original post was regarding tracks not in the cloud. If you create a smart playlist with any of the following criteria - iCloud status not = matched, not = uploaded and not= purchased, you will establish tracks not in the cloud. What do you see when you have done this?

How can I sync my iPhone 4 with a new MacBook Pro without losing all my data and settings?
I used to sync my iPhone 4 with a PC running Windows XP until the hard drive died. Thankfully, I already had a backup of all my iTunes media (Songs, TV Shows, Movies, Podcasts, Apps, etc), so when I bought a new MacBook Pro, transferring my iTunes library was easy.
My problem now is that I want to sync my iPhone 4 with my new MacBook Pro without losing all the data and settings. I have already used iTunes to back it up and transfered my purchases onto the mac. I just need help to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing app data, emails, contacts, settings.
Everytime I click on the tabs (to sync contacts, apps, music, et al), I get an error message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im a ex windows vista user, who evently became fed up and converted to a macbook pro. i just purchesed the macbook pro yesterday and have been trying to transfer all my music, contacts, notes, apps, etc. from my iphone 4 onto my new macbook pro. nothing seem to be working without it trying to erase all my info off of my iphone 4. I didnt think this would be a issue where they are both apple devices, but im now starting to regret the decision to purchace this macbook pro. please help me so i dont loose all my info trying to sync both devices. thanks for you help and advice
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You can only sync the iPhone with one Mac or PC, so your Mac is asking you to erase the device because you synced it with another Mac or PC. To avoid this, I recommend you to copy the "iTunes" folder of your old Mac or PC (in Music folder) to the Music folder of your Mac, so you'll have the same data on your Mac as the data you had on the PC.
To transfer contacts, notes, etc., I recommend iCloud > http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ -
i updated to iOS 6 on my iphone 4 and updated my macbook pro and now my mail is not working at all on my iPhone, whether on wifi or 3G. I can receive/send on my laptop, but not my iPhone!! Can someone help?

In general if you want to read paid-for ebooks on your Mac, you need to buy them from one of the other sources like Kindle, Nook, Kobo, or Googlebooks and use the free OS X and iOS reader apps which they provide instead of iBooks.

I have iPhone 6, 8.3. I cannot use bluetooth at all from my device, even to connect my macbook pro. I did all the recommended trouble shooting such as reboot and reset network settings. but it does not recognise any bluetooth device. Pls help.Thank you.
